Never had I fathomed, not even in my remotest imagination, that a day will come when God’s houses will be attacked and destroyed. The way they are today, in Iraq...Never.
This was and remains the most unthinkable, unacceptable act to me and to countless others... This Red Line is now crossed...Crossed, transgressed, trespassed into blasphemy...
In fact, this Red Line was (…)

Iraqis on the hunt for security contractors truth-about-iraqis
June 16, 2007
We start today with a news quote:
According to Victoria Wayne, who served at the Reconstruction Logistics Directorate of the Corps of Engineers in Iraq, the military wanted to hide information showing that private guards were fighting and dying in large numbers because it would be perceived as bad news, the paper said.
"Wanted to hide information ..."
Is that new to any of us Iraqi patriots? For years, in (…) -

Laboratory rats: Palestinians of Gaza and our contemporary Josef Mengeles. Agustin Velloso
Madrid - Spain - June 16, 2007
Faced with the fear that things may get even worse, one must not lose sight of the causes of the events in Gaza, their connection with the situation in Lebanon and Iraq and above all the lies the media use to defend the interests of the West and Israel at the expense of the Palestinians.
An editorial of (…) -

US and Israel Stir Up Palestinian Crisis
by Ira Chernus
It’s so obvious that Fatah and Hamas should work together to achieve an independent Palestine. Not long ago, they were proclaiming their unity. So why are they now destroying each other? If you get your news from the mainstream U.S. media, you might well think that they are just two irrational factions, driven crazy by lust for power.
But if you know how to read between the (…) -

by George Galloway
Since its launch just over a decade ago, the al-Jazeera satellite TV station has transformed the politics of the Middle East. Bush Pushes Iraq Oil Law for ExxonMobil
by Matthew Rothschild
With Iraq going to hell, and the al-Maliki government failing to meet one benchmark after another, Bush is getting desperate.
On Sunday, he sent Admiral Fallon, the chief U.S. commander in the Mideast, to lean on Prime Minister al-Maliki.
On Tuesday, John Negroponte, former U.S. ambassador to Iraq and the UN, flew to Baghdad to lean on al-Maliki.
And what were (…) -
The New Slavery

Recently Chinese officials have raided Hongtong Shanxi an area of Northern China and rescued almost 500 workers from slavery type conditions. The workers were forced to work in brick kilns, iron mines and coalmines. Some 29 of the workers were children and some were mentally disabled.
Of course the easy thing to do here in fat and happy America is to look down our nose at the Chinese. That’s the most wonderful aspect of outsourcing the corporate capitalist has the ability to bring about (…) -

US-IRAN: New War Rhetoric Undercuts Iraq Talks
Analysis by Trita Parsi*
WASHINGTON, Jun 12 (IPS) - U.S. Senator Joseph Lieberman’s call for cross-border raids into Iran appears to be the culmination of a two-week long campaign by proponents of war to put the military option centre-stage in the U.S. debate over Iran once more. The immediate effect of reigniting the let’s-bomb-Iran discussions is the undercutting of the (…) -
