In a dramatic step following cabinet ratification of the first phase of the disengagement plan, Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Sunday announced his resignation from the government, citing his opposition to the pullout.
"We have reached the moment of truth today," Netanyahu wrote in a letter he placed on the cabinet table before abruptly leaving the ministers’ weekly session. "There is a way to achieve peace and security, but a unilateral withdrawal under fire and (…)

VHeadline.com guest commentarist Mary MacElveen writes: A statement made by Energy Secretary Samuel W. Bodman in relation to Saudi Arabia, truly boggles the mind where he said, “As the world’s largest producer and as the world’s largest consumer, our two countries have a special relationship." He then went onto say “We are, at least in certain respects, partners" ... he made these statements earlier in the year with his Saudi counterpart Ali al-Naimi.

Here it is. The smoking gun. The memo that has "IMPEACH HIM" written all over it.
The top-level government memo marked "SECRET AND STRICTLY PERSONAL," dated eight months before Bush sent us into Iraq, following a closed meeting with the President, reads, "Military action was now seen as inevitable. Bush wanted to remove Saddam through military action justified by the conjunction of terrorism and WMD. But the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy." (…) -

WASHINGTON (AP) - Others besides Bunnatine Greenhouse have testified that Halliburton, the biggest holder of American rebuilding contracts in Iraq, has deceived the government and cheated taxpayers.
The company denies the claims.
Rory Mayberry, who worked for Halliburton subsidiary KBR from February through April 2004, testified from Iraq, via videotape, to the Democratic Policy Committee in June.
As a food manager at a U.S. military camp, Mayberry said he (…) -

WASHINGTON - (KRT) - Sixty years after the United States dropped two atomic bombs on Japan, a film documenting the aftermath is reminding Americans about the horrors of nuclear war.
Footage from a U.S. government-produced film, which was labeled top secret and kept out of public view for decades, is included in "Original Child Bomb," a documentary that will air on many cable stations Saturday, the 60th anniversary of the day that Hiroshima (…) -

The good fight has been fought for some years now. Progress has indeed been made. There are rumblings of indictments from the Valerie Plame incident, that may exceed Karl Rove. With each passing death in Iraq a nation begins to realize that this is just not worth it, despite the bravado of Bush, a man who knows nothing about sacrifice. The Downing Street Memos are still out there, waiting (…) -

NEWS ITEM: “COLOMBIA’S PRESIDENT MEETS BUSH
“U.S. President Bush met with Colombian President Alvaro Uribe Velez at the Bush ranch near Crawford, Texas on Thursday, August 4, 2005.”
After a talk about democracy in Colombia, Bush was asked about the status of his Iraq war. For dramatic effect the President’s standard ranting is capitalized, while my comments are not.
