It is difficult to believe, and I too want to have more respect for our government, but this is what they do all day. And they started at 2 pm.
I think it is time that we demand more from our government, don’t you?

Nancy Pelosi is the house minority leader, and she has been doing nothing to support the real democrats in the party. After this recent seemingly fraudulent election, she suggested that we all just get along with the Republicans who have been committing the worst crimes against our nation in the history of our nation. Our ’representatives’ are sworn to uphold, protect and preserve our constitution, and this current House of Representatives has done anything but. I do believe that stealing an election in a democracy is Treason. Shouldn’t they at least look into the voter disinfranchisement? When Clinton was in office, the House held him responsible for anything and everything. This current Adminstration has gotten away with murder, literally, with no oversight. Nancy Pelosi, has failed us, and she needs to be replaced with someone who will stand up for our constitution and the American people. How can they go on naming post offices when our democracy has been hijacked?

    • WTF is the petition for? They just toss those in the circular file, ie THE TRASH.

      We need to call them, write them, fax them and get in their faces! It is their job to hold this administration accountable. They are not doing their jobs. Petitions are just a diversion.

    • I will assume that the Democrats are just as ineffective and unjust as the Republicans if there is not an investigation of the obvious failure of our democracy in this election. We cannot be considered a democracy unless we can be sure our votes count. Its up to you. You have to do it.

    I’m as mad as any of you, but you all need to stop, take a few deep breaths, and start to channel your energy into something more constructive. I was an Election Protection Poll watcher, and am still getting e-mails from EP that assure me that the lawyers are still in Ohio working. Even though we would love to know what is going on, I’m beginning to think this is a good strategy to keep what’s going on "below the RADAR" by keeping what’s really happening at the local level. Voting Laws ARE currently local laws. I don’t think they should be and this needs to be changed, but that’s the situation for now. The 2000 Florida fiasco, brought AL Gore’s political career to an abrupt end. When and if the Green/Libertarian Recount of Ohio flips Ohio to Kerry, we all need to be ready for the crys of "bloody murder" from George Bush and the Republican’s Neo-Fascist Mis-leaders. If the election isn’t flipped, know ones good name has been dragged through the mud.

    Here are some web addresses and websites where you can write directly to the Reps you want address. If you (and anyone you know) write a well though out, logical (and short) e-mail directly to the Congresspersons office, your voice WILL be heard. I’ve been doing this for more than 6 years, and have seen some of my idea reflected in policy changes of the Reps and Senators I’ve written to. Not every time, but enough of the time to know that my e-mails have made a difference.

    Nancy Pelosi is the house MINORITY leader. That means she has absolutely NO say into the House agenda or the bills that are brought to the floor. This is especially true under the current Republican "leadership," headed by Texan Tom Delay (Dennis Haster is just another stooge of Delay).
    I don’t know where any of you get your news from, but NPR just reported that the House, led by Tom Delay -R (Texas), just voted to change the 1993 house rule (pushed through by Republicans in the lead up to the Clinton Witch Hunt), the rule that said, if a House Leader is brought under indictment, he or she should resign his or her leadership position. This is very convenient for Tom Delay, as he is under investigation, and will most likely be indicted of election fraud in Texas in a few weeks or days.

    This election isn’t over until all the vote counts and re-counts are finished. We only have a few more days to make a difference, don’t waste it,

  • Nancy Peloci by law is the new speaker of the House of Representatives and all Americans will have to live with it. It was won fair and square by the American voters that got fed up with the way the Bush Administration has been conducting business in Washington for the last six years.
    The gravy train for the Republicans came to an end at the choice of the voters and we now must live with it as we lived with the Bush Administration by previous voters. Let us unite in attitude that we must be responsible citizens including government officials and let us begin through honesty. Good or bad we need the truth from government officials and that is why we elect people to be honest with our government’s dealings.

    • I can’t believe that American voters decided to finally be brave to express their choice by voting this last time around. There is a ray of hope for the Sleeping American to awaken to what has been done to its country. We went into a fabricated war through previously planned progaganda that we must attack another country to promote a President’s agenda because he really didn’t know what he should do as a World leader. You see him at every event he speaks should I say more about his attributes. Let’s move on to deal with issues that we need such as aid for students, aid for the elderly. We need decent wages for all to survive. Let us quit wasting our money by sending abroad and spend it here taking care of our own citizens, such as the New Orleans that is still suffering. Let us deal with providing prescribed and legal drugs at affordable prices for all. It is time to get back on track. Let Nancy Peloci do her job.
