Who lost Iraq? Someday, as a fragmented Iraq spirals further into religious madness, terrorism and civil war, there will be a bipartisan inquiry into this blundering intrusion into another people’s history.
The crucial question will be why a "preemptive" American invasion - which has led to the deaths of nearly 2,000 Americans, roughly 10 times as many Iraqis, the expenditure of about $200 billion and incalculable damage to the United States’ global reputation - has had (…)

A Poor Day To Die...
3 September 2005A Poor Day To Die...
In the terrible currents of fear and wind and rain, Left with nothing but their feet and maybe not even that, No dime no nickel no car no gas, Maybe no job if they left - I guess now it’s too hard to laugh, The stench and the heat and the waters full of death and disgust, Six days with nothing but bullets and broken promises, Thirst and pain and confusion comprise everything, Bodies plugging the bathtub drains, Call it looting or scavenging to survive, When the world (…) -
At Least One Bush Helped Hurricane Surviviors
3 September 2005The Chicago Tribune reported in section 1 on page 5 Friday that 14 members of the Waveland, Miss. Police Department survived the hurricane surge waters by clinging to an eight foot tall bush in the yard for dear life. They plan to transplant it to a memorial site when the new police station is built. Somehow, I doubt they will be singing "Hail To The Chief" in remembrance.

The "white" house is glad to see the devastation. More reconstruction $$$ into Halliburton’s (etc.) pockets. There’s only one thing money can’t buy, and that’s poverty. (…) -

2 September 2005Nov. 19, 1863 Fourscore and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.
Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation or any nation so conceived and so dedicated can long endure. We are met on a great battlefield of that war. So, really, who blew the levies?
2 September 20059/11/2001 - planes crash into World Trade Center twin towers. Later, the Towers collapse in the only known collapse of steel framed buildings EVER. Some skeptics claim they were purposely imploded.
George Bush, Condi Rice and others government officials say they never imagined planes being used as weapons.
8/29/2005 - Hurricane Katrina slams into the southern shore of the US. Especially hard hit is New Orleans. Late in the day, levies, holding back the waters of Lake Ponchartrain, break, (…)
