Army Sgt. Sherwood R. Baker, 30, of Plymouth, Pennsylvania, was the first Pennsylvania National Guardsman to have died in the war in Iraq. He was the 720th soldier killed in Iraq, and the first Pennsylvania Guardsman to die since 1945.
Sherwood was killed in Baghdad, Iraq, on April 26th, 2004 by a large explosion while performing site security at a suspected munitions plant. He was assigned to do security for the teams that were still looking for weapons of mass destruction. (…) -
Australia: Turnbull criticised Iraq war
10 August 2004High profile Liberal candidate Malcolm Turnbull has publicly criticised the war on Iraq, parliament was told.
Labor backbencher Tanya Plibersek told parliament Mr Turnbull, the endorsed Liberal candidate for the blue-ribbon seat of Wentworth, made the comments at a candidate’s forum at Bondi.
She asked Prime Minister John Howard if he endorsed the comments.

The new Iraq was on a knife-edge last night as violence and political instability confronted the regime of Iyad Allawi, the interim Prime Minister.
