On Sept. 23, 2008, five military veterans occupied a 35-foot-high ledge in front of the National Archives Building in Washington, D.C. At the site, they unfolded a 22X8 foot banner. Does America have what it takes?
23 September 2008Wall Street is a form of legalized gambling and Prostitution in America. The People need to do a mancheck (balls) of all Congressman, Senators and US Government leaders to determine why America is being consolidated and sold to the highest bidder and why they are afraid to stand up and fight back. A 700 Billion...actually over a Trillion worthless US dollars is being used to reward rape and failure of Harvard, Yale, Princeton and other prestigious universities trained business dummies to (…)

The Fruit of Hypocrisy

Dishonesty in the finance sector dragged us here, and Washington looks ill-equipped to guide us out
September 22, 2008 By Joseph Stiglitz Source: The Guardian

Houses of cards, chickens coming home to roost - pick your cliche. The new low in the financial crisis, which has prompted comparisons with the 1929 Wall Street crash, is the fruit of a pattern of dishonesty on the part of financial institutions, and incompetence on the part (…) -
Primary Vote Still Doesn’t Add Up
23 September 2008Primary Vote Still Doesn’t Add Up
By Nikita Stewart and Elissa Silverman, Washington Post Staff Writers, Monday, September 22, 2008;
As District officials continue to investigate errors in the early vote tallies from the Sept. 9 primary, one number stands out: 1,542.
That number appeared in the category for "over votes" in 13 separate races when the D.C. Board of Elections and Ethics released early results on election night. But those votes inexplicably vanished shortly after midnight, (…) -
More than a financial crisis: The age of misfortune
23 September 2008More than a financial crisis: The age of misfortune
By Frank Schirrmacher
18th September 2008 Stefan Zweig about the time before the First World War: "The years of security." Auden on the inter-war period: "The Age of Anxiety." Is perhaps the time for a new time has come?
It should be Warren Buffett large set of the "weapons of mass destruction on the financial markets today quite literally: morally, politically and historically. You have to just watch how the parties to the explosions (…) -
The Triple Whammy of Bigotry in the 2008 Election
22 September 2008It’s been awhile since a black man was lynched in America, but the Rove Gang’s getting the crowd ginned up for another one and the town’s on edge.
The last lynching took place 10 years ago in East Texas Bush Country when three young white racists chained James Byrd, a 49-year-old father of three, to the back of their pickup truck and dragged him down the highway until his body was dismembered.
If John McCain and his character assassins and vote riggers succeed, the next one will occur in (…) -
A Nation of Masochists
22 September 2008"I send my tormentor hurrying hither and thither in the service of my suffering and desire." Mason Cooley (d.2002)
I have concluded that Americans, who pretend in public to be straightlaced, are in fact rabid masochists addicted to whips, black leather and the application of fists. It turns out that large numbers of people throughout the world are accidentally asphyxiated every year because they need to be chocked for maximum pleasure.
The diagnosis of national masochism is the only (…) -
The Economic Gas Tank Is Dry - By Corporate Design
22 September 2008In Designing Their New Economic Ship Of State, Corporations Forgot What Fuels Economies - The Gas Tank Is Dry
Dan Stafford - 09/22/2008
No economy works if the majority of the populace can’t afford to buy anything.
This should be simple and basic. If wages are too low, and costs too high, across a broad spectrum of the population , economic activity stops. The rich will only buy so many items, being one % of the population, or so, they are not enough to "fuel" a global economy.
Right (…) -
It’s time for All of us to weigh-in on global economic policy - NOW, before Bush grabs extreme powers
22 September 2008All - we need to speak loudly and clearly now, in the pivotal moments of this artificially-induced economic melt-down.
I believe that the Fascists have engineered this crisis in order to implement an unprecedented economic power grab.
The calls by Democrats and others for oversight and a plan that serves and saves everyday people needs to be supported. If every voice is not raised, there will be unprecedented human suffering as the rich seize anything and everything they wish.
