The institution of tighter job regulation for workers accompanied by greater discretion for managers in universities to make decisions over employment issues, represent an irrational postmodern transformation of universities into capitalist corporations, while the ideological neoliberal project driving such developments, functions to alienate academics and other university workers.
Academics find themselves working involuntarily in the interests of the capital imperative; for institutions (…)

Americans – a Superior Breed of People?
17 July 2008By Siv O’Neall
If not inhibited by a wise and loving upbringing, human beings certainly turn out to be the cruelest of animals. Other animals kill for food and possibly to save their own lives or the life of a loved one. Humans kill and torture from a cruel sense of power or for the ultimate fulfillment of their greed.
All human beings seem to have a deeply ensconced need to feel and express their superiority over other humans. In other cases, they take their viciousness out on animals (…) -
A letter to US Congress
16 July 2008To Americans: Congress and President
Now is the time to tell the truth. Without it, you will never have peace. We know that all of you do not tell the truth, and we understand why. You have been given more than an opportunity to CHANGE, and you choose, as is your right not to tell the truth. Our Country is in trouble, and over 200 million Americans need help. This we know. This fact you know, but because of selfish pride, greed and other self-serving agendas, America will continue to (…) -

Is Dubya an Agent of the New World Order?
15 July 2008“Out of these troubled times, our...objective can emerge—’a New World Order.’” - George Bush, Sr., Dubya’s Daddy
When you mention the word “conspiracy” to explain a situation, most people tune you right out. They think you’re a whack-oh. Yet, the U.S. Congress, as dumb as it is, subscribes to the proposition that there is such a thing. After the Civil War, it passed a law, the Sherman Anti-Trust Act, to make it a crime for two or more individuals to agree to fix the price of goods in (…) -
The Fascisme we love
14 July 2008February Sunday 4 2007 (19h20) : Benevolent Fascisme?
so is it benevolent? fascisme "Say “fascism” to anyone you meet, and you will conjure images of coal-scuttle helmets, of Nazi boot-heels clicking in terrible unison down Berlin streets during dark days that only a few remaining among the living remember. Each day, members of the generation that heard those heels for themselves go into the ground, taking with them whispered words of warning. I saw it for myself, they whisper before they (…) -
Obama: Worse Than McCain? By Mike Whitney (CounterPunch)
14 July 2008Every four years, liberals and progressives are expected to set aside their beliefs and stand foursquare behind the Democratic Party candidate. This ritual is invariably performed in the name of party unity. It doesn’t matter if the candidate is a smooth-talking politician who’s willing to toss his pastor of 20 years overboard for a few awkward comments, or whether he refuses to defend basic civil liberties like the 4th amendment’s right to privacy.

COURT RULES WARNER BROS STOLE COPYRIGHT TO SUPERMAN
13 July 2008U.S. Court rules Warner Brothers studios had illegally claimed copyright to Superman. They did not own the copyright. Now the family of the Superman
comic book artist gets to take all those millions away from WB. And to think the U.S. Government was one sided in its copyright enforcement. Only doing the bidding for the Big Studios. Therefore breaking the law and acting as agents of organized crime. Shame.
This is not the only case just determined. The family of the original writer of (…) -
