DEMOCRATS AND THE WAR : Zig-Zagging Through the War with John Kerry
26 April 2006Yet Another About-Face Zig-Zagging Through the War with John Kerry
By JOSHUA FRANK
The search is finally over. Sen. John Kerry is believed to have found his heroic voice. He apparently misplaced it back in the early ’70s after standing up to the U.S. war in Vietnam upon his saluted return from battle. Now many antiwar liberals believe Kerry is dissenting yet again.
"I have come here today to reaffirm that it was right to dissent in 1971 from a war that was wrong. And to affirm that it (…) -

Dangerous Times Ahead
By DAVE LINDORFF
The noose is tightening around George Bush and his gang of White House crooks and liars, with prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald reportedly getting closer to an indictment of Karl Rove, and now with the Illinois and California state legislatures considering resolutions that would have those states submit bills of impeachment to the U.S. House of Representatives—an alternative means of bringing an impeachment case against a (…) -

Genocide
By Norma Sherry
04/26/06 "ICH" — — As a people who praise humanity; as a human race we have a despicable history. Since the beginning of time we, as a people, have abolished those with whom we didn’t like or agree with, or those who had what we wanted: like land or rich resources. We haven’t changed much. It appears we haven’t learned from our past and as the acts of genocide pile high, clearly, we’re doomed to keep repeating these atrocious acts. (…) -

Spring is being keenly awaited on Sakhalin in Russia’s far east after another long winter. But when it finally comes in June it offers little prospect of a thaw in relations between environmentalists and Shell.
With the melting of the ice after eight months, the Anglo-Dutch oil giant is set to enter a crucial offshore (…) -
IRAQ : The Long War Posture
26 April 2006Published on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 by the Baltimore Sun The Long War Posture by Gregory D. Foster
The American public is being lulled into a false sense of insecurity. And insecurity, constructed or real, is what gives those in power - our purported protectors - their self-righteous aura of indispensability.
President Bush; Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld; the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Peter Pace; the head of the U.S. Central Command, Gen. John P. Abizaid; (…) -

While children continue to die twenty years after the Chernobyl catastrophe, an out-of-touch (and often corrupt) fringe advocates a "rebirth" for the failed technology that is killing them.
These pro-nuke die-hards seem unable to face the solution to both global warming and our economic future: the exploding revolution in renewable energy and (…) -
