There is Pentagon and US governmental obfuscation surrounding United States permanent bases in Iraq. Whilst Donald Rumsfeld, US Secretary of Defence, continues to deny a permanent US presence there, the facts appear to contradict his statements.
In February 2002, Zoltan Grossman wrote the following cogent perception entitled New US Bases: Side Effects or Causes of War? “Even if this administration pulls combat troops out of Iraq in the future, it intends to keep at least (…)

Iraq’s US/UK Permanent Bases : Intentional Obfuscation
6 April 2006 -

6 April 2006Why has the story of that male prostitute posing as a white house reporter with 24/7 access to the white house never been fully investigated? The American mainstream media never really covered it and Congress refused to investigate this scandal. I have tried to find recent stories on this story online and it seems like it was just dropped. Bill Clinton was impeached for less but George W. Bush skated on this juicy tidbit. Let’s remedy this injustice.

Another Surreal Day in the Age of Bush
6 April 2006“We are all born mad. Some remain so.” - Samuel Beckett
Major league baseball is as American as apple pie. For the first time in the history of the storied Cincinnati Reds’ franchise, a sitting president, George W. Bush, threw out the “ceremonial” opening day pitch, on April 3, 2006. Comedian Jay Leno said on the “Tonight” show that evening, that the presidential toss at the National League game against the Chicago Cubs, like Bush’s politics, went off to the “far right.” Instead of (…) -
The Left Needs More Socialism
6 April 2006by Ronald Aronson
It’s time to break a taboo and place the word "socialism" across the top of the page in a major American progressive magazine. Time for the left to stop repressing the side of ourselves that the right finds most objectionable. Until we thumb our noses at the Democratic pols who have been calling the shots and reassert the very ideas they say are unthinkable, we will keep stumbling around in the dark corners of American politics, wondering how we lost our souls—and how to (…) -

March 16, 2006—In the summer of 2004 I met with former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic in Scheveningen prison when I was approved as a defense witness. Before I could get in, I had to pass four totally separate check points, unable to take in anything but papers. Each level of security was more rigid than the one before.
No one who has met with (…) -

Japan’s ruthless push for the return of commercial whaling received a significant setback yesterday when pressure from green campaigners forced five big food companies to pull out of supporting the Japanese whaling industry.
The five firms, led by the Japanese seafood giant Nissui and its wholly-owned US frozen (…) -

Why Democrats Are At Least Half of the Problem
By JOZEF HAND-BONIAKOWSKI
In a recent give and take email with a liberal, "progressive" Democrat in Vermont, I discovered what Democrats really feel about people who vote for third party candidates, and especially what they feel about Ralph Nader. 2006 is, after all, an election year, and we, the people, must elect Democrats to "take our country back". No? The talk-show hosts say so, (…)
