Fifteen years ago, and exactly on 13 Feb. 1991, USA air forces bombed civilian shelter in Baghdad. The shelter was used to give peaceful place for children, women and elderly people in Al-Aameria district in Baghdad during the 1991 war against Iraq. The bombing was deliberate since, two special rockets were used; one made an opening in the reinforced concrete ceiling while the other penetrated through to give huge amount of fire into the shelter. Jazz Great Ray Barretto Passes At Age 76
17 February 2006The Grammy-winning Latin jazz percussionist Ray Barretto who had recently undergone heart surgery died today.
He was 76 years old.
George Rivera, a friend who has been serving as a spokesman, said Barretto died at 5 a.m. with his wife and two sons by his bedside at the Hackensack University Medical Center.
Barretto had undergone heart bypass surgery in January and was operated on again two weeks later after an artery burst.
