L’union européenne représentée par un truc pareil, Qu’est ce que c’est donc pour un bazar !
Sur le web, je n’ai trouvé qu’une seule image, et encore, à contre jour. Elle est bien cachée, assurons lui sa diffusion.


Une Harpie brandissant un symbole original, foulant aux pieds des morceaux humains.
En auraient ils honte, au caprice des dieux ?
Est ce le cadeau d’un pays intégré récemment dans l’union européenne ?
Si oui, il a le sens de l’humour, et c’est tout ce qui lui reste ! Arno Breker ça aviat de la gueule ! Qui a bien pu avoir l’idée saugrenue de cette allégorie ?
Un visionnaire ?
Un provocateur ?
Son installation rue Wiertz à Bruxelles, prés de la porte jacques delors, c’est le second gag, ce n’est pas possible ! Noel Godin ? Encore lui !

En sortant du Musée Antoine Wiertz, rue Vautier à Ixelles ( A voir absolument ) , j’ai vu ce machin. Je me suis dis qu’il fallait le faire connaître.
Je l’ai donc pris en photo, aucun trucage !

Il n’y a pas d’enfants aux pieds de la sculpture ! Si tu la croise avec tes enfants, prends les en photo devant, ils la montreront à leur descendants, s’ils ont de la chance.

    Je croyais que cette fameuse statue avait été offerte par l’AUME.

    Après recherche (pas facile de se renseigner sur son origine, effectivement), j’ai trouvé deux articles, qui expliquent qu’elle a été offerte par la présidence belge au PE en 1993... Avant l’Euro, donc (un acte de divination, sans aucun doute).

    Fait amusant, elle est censée représenter Europe, la petite bonne femme de la mythologie censément emportée par le taureau zeus (une métaphore européiste qui revient régulièrement).

    A l’époque, la présidence belge, c’était Jean-Luc Dehaene. Je ne connais pas ses états de service, mais sa biographie sur wikipedia laisse supposer qu’il s’agit d’un copain de Davignon et de la "belgian connexion" :

    "Par ailleurs, il est membre du conseil d’administration du think tank Les Amis de l’Europe et a été invité à la conférence annuelle du groupe de Bilderberg en 2004. En 1996, Dehaene est devenu le deuxième récipiendaire du Vision pour l’Europe Award."

    A long-standing statue outside the Paul-Henri Spaak building has become popular with tourists. The bronze statue, simply called "Europe", was created by May Claerhout

    May Claerhout is a Belgian artist who was born in Pittem. She creates sculptures in bronze and terracotta, and she has created several statues for public buildings in Belgium. Her studio is located in Malle... and is a representation of Europa (mythology)

    Europa was a Phoenician woman of high lineage in Greek mythology, from whom the name of the continent Europe has ultimately been taken. The story of her abduction by Zeus in the form of a white bull was a Cretan story, as Kerényi points out ; "most of the love-stories concerning Zeus originated..., carried by a mass of people while also being apart of it. The figure carries an "E", the symbol of the euro

    There is a new face at the European Parliament building in Brussels, but it is not an MEP. The statue of a woman representing Europe, which was supposed to move with the assembly but got left behind at Rue Belliard, has finally found a home outside the Paul-Henri Spaak building on Rue Wiertz.

    That is music to the ears of Belgian Green MEP Luckas VanderTaelen, who fought a long, hard battle to ensure that the statue by Antwerp artist May Claerhout was put in her rightful place.

    "Now Lady Europe can keep a close eye on all MEPs again in their daily activities to build Europe further," he said of the statue, which was presented to the Parliament by the then Belgian Prime Minister Jean-Luc Dehaene.

  • Le symbole de l’euro est un E avec 2 barres. Ce qui n’est pas le cas ici. De plus l’euro est entrée en vigueur au niveau de la parité en 1999 et au niveau monétaire en 2002 c’est à dire +/- 10 après la création de cette sculpture.
    On devra donc trouver une autre signification à cette statue. Une piste pourrait être l’élan vers une unification et une paix européenne construite sur les restes de la 2ème guerre mondiale et de la chute du système communiste ?
