Cook (Palgrave Macmillan, London, 2010) is a collection of articles about the ongoing Palestinian Genocide by about 3 dozen variously eminent humanitarian writers from around the world. Lawyer: Al-Sarsak is still on hunger strike
15 June 2012Mahmoud al-Sarsak is on his 86th day of hunger strike but is drinking milk to prolong his life until his court hearing Thursday, his lawyer said Tuesday.
Mohammad Jabarein told Ma’an that Israeli prison officials called him to visit al-Sarsak urgently Sunday because he was in danger of dying. Al-Sarsak was briefly hospitalized that afternoon.
Jabarein met with 15 doctors at the hospital, who said al-Sarsak was at immediate danger of paralysis and losing consciousness.

Refusenik sentenced to 20 days in prison on his birthday
14 June 2012Yaniv Mazor was sentenced this morning by his commander to twenty days in prison for refusing to fulfill his reserve service duties. “This is an army whose main purpose is the maintenance of the occupation regime imposed on millions of people on the West Bank and in the Gaza Strip – and I cannot serve in it,” said Mazor, hoping that others would join him.

Officials call for action as Bethlehem villages run dry
14 June 2012Rural villages near Bethlehem are facing a water crisis despite sitting on top of the second largest reservoir in the West Bank, an official delegation to the area said on Monday.
Seven villages have not had running water for more than 15 days, in an area with a population of 30,000, the joint services council for development and planning said.

14 June 2012On Monday 11th June 2012, farmers from Beit Ommar, alongside Popular Committee Members and two international activists, were cultivating land adjacent to the illegal Karmei Tsur settlement. After approximately half an hour of working their land, Israeli settlers began to harass the farmers, shouting abuse in English, calling those farming ‘dogs’ and ‘Nazis’, and throwing stones.
