San Antonio sugar mill maintains tradition of commitment with its collaborators
17 December 2011Some prestigious mass media have recently informed about the situation of public health faced by agricultural workers affected by Chronic Renal Insufficiency (CRI) in Central America´s Pacific region, a problem that worries society in general. Unfortunately, in light of the uncertain origin of the disease, sometimes inaccuracies are incurred in the search for culprits and not solutions.
One of the hypotheses raised in newspaper articles points to dehydration as a probable cause of Chronic (…) -

Like Lazarus, Republicans Attempt to Revive Moribund Keystone XL Pipeline
16 December 2011There’s cynicism, and then there’s Congress.
In the latest example of dysfunctional Congressional gridlock, the Democratic-led Senate is certain to reject a House of Representatives-passed Republican bill, House Resolution 3630, the 369-page ‘‘Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2011,’’ to extend the payroll tax cut.
The sticking (sticky) point?
Oil - specifically, dirty Canadian oil derived from Alberta’s oil sands, and the Keystone XL pipeline cutting across Middle (…) -
Shocking analysis by country of Climate Debt of greenhouse gas polluters
14 December 2011Just as EU Creditor nations seek to reign in Debtor nations in an ongoing financial crisis, so Climate Creditor countries should act in the worsening climate crisis to reign in Climate Debtor countries of which the worst is the US with a Net Climate Debt of $9.7 trillion. In sharp contrast to the US, India and China have Net Climate Credits of $6.5 trillion and $2.3 trillion, respectively
In the worsening climate crisis, the contribution of each country to elevated atmospheric carbon (…) -

REMEMBERING HIS-STORY - IRAN ATTACK?
13 December 2011This map tells the whole story. Each star represents a U.S. military base. In the middle, in blue, is Iran. Iran has no military bases outside its borders. Just north of Iran is Georgia that has essentially become a U.S./NATO base. Turkey belongs to NATO. Iran has been checkmated. North of Georgia is Russia. Can there be any wonder why Russia is so alarmed about an attack on Iran?
Imagine if we saw a map of the U.S. with Russian or Chinese military bases throughout Canada and Mexico along (…) -

Pakistani Editorial Says Nuclear War with India "Inevitable" as Water Dispute Continues
11 December 2011Every now and again, one reads an editorial that stops the reader in his tracks.
On 8 December, with the headline "War Inevitable To Tackle Indian Water Aggression," Pakistan’s Urdu-language Nawa-e Waqt, issued such a screed.
Nawa-e Waqt bluntly commented on India’s Kashmiri water polices and Islamabad’s failure up to now to stop New Delhi’s efforts to construct hydroelectric dams in Kashmir, “India should be forcibly prevented from constructing these dams. If it fails to constrain (…) -

9 December 2011Iran has released video footage of the most advanced US reconnaissance drone which was downed by the Iranian Army in the eastern part of the Islamic Republic earlier this week.
On Sunday December 4, the Iranian Army’s electronic warfare unit downed with minimum damage the US RQ-170 Sentinel stealth aircraft which was flying over the Iranian city of Kashmar, some 140 miles (225km) from the Afghan border.
The aircraft had crossed into Iran’s airspace over the border with neighboring (…)
