While the world watches the 2008 US elections, Canada fights for its survival. On 14 October 2008 Canada will hold its most important elections since its creation - no hype, no exaggeration.

Harper - Sarkozy

Why we Must Stop Stephen Harper and the Conservatives:

In the year 2000, the United States held their most important elections since their creation, and now it’s our turn. In four short years the Bush administration bankrupted the United States and started two major wars that have no end in sight. Harper and his Neocons promise to do the same to Canada.

The Conservative Party of Canada, led by Stephen Harper, is dangerously close to obtaining a majority government. If they get this power, they will do to Canada what the Neocons did to the United States.

My personal reasons for trying to stop Stephen Harper from obtaining ultimate power range from preventing our future involvement in wars of aggression to maintaining Internet Neutrality. From preventing him from giving away Canada’s digital future to US Corporations with Bill C-61 to stopping him from implementing a failed and costly US ‘War on Drugs’ policy. From stopping his Bill C-26 with its private prison industrial complex structural implications to preventing the multinational corporate takeover of North America with all of its implications.

If the above is not enough to convince you to vote strategically against Harper then please visit http://www.100reasons.ca which provides 100 reasons why not to vote for Harper’s Conservative Party.

How to stop Harper from getting his majority:

The following website, http://www.voteforenvironment.ca, “offers comprehensive, up-to-date riding by riding information on how to defeat Harper.”

You can go directly to the Ridings by province section or to the key Ridings section to find out how to vote strategically to defeat the Conservatives.

In 2000, the citizens of the United States made the wrong choice and they are paying the price. Now it’s our turn, especially considering “a critically acclaimed U.S. based public interest organization that promotes transparency, accountability, and integrity, in government, politics and the law, on 26 September 2008 released records obtained under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), which suggests that a George W. Bush administration-linked ‘U.S. Secretariat’, is seeking to orchestrate a Stephen Harper majority government in Federal Election 2008.”

I hope that we make the right choice.

Good luck Canada.
