When words fail, we can say it in pictures. Art for Peace can surely be effective as outlined below. Indeed we must at least TRY for the cause of those Mothers and Children suffering under Bush-ite-Zionist Wars and Occupations in the ongoing Bush (now Obama) War on Women and Children in the Occupied Palestinian, Iraqi and Afghan Territories - and for Humanity as a whole threatened by a looming 10 billion-victim Climate Genocide.

What has this carnage amounted to long-term, for example over the period 1950-2005?

In the period 1950-2005, in the World about 1.3 billion people died avoidably from deprivation, this estimate being consonant with the number of under-5 infant deaths (0.88 billion) of which 90% (0.79 billion) were avoidable deaths (see: http://globalavoidablemortality.blo... ) .

Yet this carnage has been utterly avoidable – and the continuing carnage is utterly avoidable. Put simply, this global avoidable mortality holocaust is due to differential resource distribution on Spaceship Earth with the First World (notably the United States of America aka the warmonger- and racist Zionist-beholden United States of Israel) in charge of the flight deck.

The wonderful example of Cuba demonstrates the utter needlessness of the continuing First World-imposed avoidable death holocaust. Thus in 2003 Cuba had a per capita income of $1,170 as compared to $37,610 for the US. However the annual under-5 infant mortality rate was 0.17% in Cuba (the same as in the US) and annual avoidable death was zero (0) in both countries. It should be noted that avoidable deaths (excess death, avoidable mortality, excess mortality, deaths that did not have to happen) is defined here as the difference between the actual deaths in a country and the deaths expected for a peaceful, decently run country with the same demographics (see “Global avoidable mortality: http://globalavoidablemortality.blo...).

The example of Cuba – realized under criminal Sanctions imposed by the US for about half a century - demonstrates that with a modest annual per capita income, good governance, good primary health care and high female literacy it is possible for a country with 1,130 x100/37,.610 = 3% of the US annual per capita income to achieve the same health outcomes as the richest and most powerful country on Earth.

The carnage doesn’t have to happen but continues in countries such as India due to First World hegemony and Indigenous corruption and greed. The example of China (population 1.3 billion) is very encouraging: annual avoidable death rate 0% and under-5 infant mortality rate 0.82% (0.08% in Hong Kong) as compared to the situation with India (population 1.1 billion): annual avoidable death rate 0.35% and under-5 infant mortality rate 1.92% (2003 data) (Table 8, “Body Count. "Sydney Madonna" (see: http://www.flickr.com/photos/gideon... ) is a huge painting (1.3 meters x 2.2 meters) that I have recently created in a humanitarian cause. It is inspired by a 2 millennium tradition of Christian icons representing the Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus. The image also represents at a fundamental, universal level what is most sacred to all decent people whether theist, atheist or agnostic, namely Mother and Child. My “Sydney Madonna” shows Mother and Child superimposed (together with aspects of the flora and fauna of Australia) upon the most beautiful Man-made landscape in Australia, specifically the Sydney Opera House, the Harbor filled with yachts, the Sydney Harbor Bridge, and the North Shore.
