Another Bengali Island Drowns due to AGW; Mega-delta & Island Nations must take high GHG Australia to ICC

After Copenhagen, decent folk around the World are acutely aware of the plight of the Tuvaluans as remorselessly rising sea levels due to man-made global warming threaten the very existence of their nation. However this problem exists for other Island Nations and low lying, mega-delta, continental nations (most notably Egypt, Nigeria, Argentina, Brazil, the Netherlands, the UK, Romania, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Burma, Cambodia, Vietnam, the US and China.

Now it has been recently reported that another Bay of Bengal island has disappeared into sea. India and Bangladesh both claimed the uninhabited New Moore Island (called South Talpatti by Bangladesh), which was about 3.5 kilometers (2 miles) long and 1.5 miles wide. Up till 2000, the sea levels rose about 0.12 inches a year, but over the last decade they have been rising about 0.2 inches per annum Another nearby island, Lohachara Island, was submerged in 1996, forcing the inhabitants to move to the mainland, while almost half the land of Ghoramara Island is underwater. At least 10 other islands in the area are at risk. It is estimated that 18 per cent of Bangladesh’s coastal area will be under water and 20 million people will be displaced if sea levels rise 3.3 feet by 2050, as projected by some climate models (see: “Disputed Bay of Bengal island disappears into sea”, UK Telegraph, 24 March 2010: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor... ).

Man-made global warming is to blame – but to determine which countries are mainly responsible for anthropogenic global warming (AGW) and the consequent continuing loss of territory of India, Bangladesh one must consider “annual per capita greenhouse gas (GHG) pollution” for the countries of the World. .

The number one country in this irreversible loss of Indian and Bangladeshi territory is racist Apartheid Australia that is committed to a policy that amounts to Climate Genocide this century of 10 billion non-Europeans (including 2 billion of them Indians, 0.5 billion Bengalis, 0.3 billion Pakistanis and 0.3 billion Bangladeshis).

If Apartheid Australia (in its role as the United States Deputy Sheriff for South East Asia, South Asia and the Pacific) were to actually physically invade India and Bangladesh one might suppose that India and Bangladesh would militarily oppose this attack on their sovereignty, as indeed is the right of any country under International Law.

Yet when Anti-Indian, anti-Asian, racist white Apartheid Australia disproportionately contributes to man-made global warming and achieves massive loss of Indian and Bangladeshi territory there is astonishingly not a pip from the Indian or Bangladeshi people, media or governments – and no suggestion (yet) that these countries would take climate criminal Apartheid Australia to the International Criminal Court (ICC) for its continuing genocidal attack on their territorial integrity.

In contrast, one suspects that (given the enthusiasm for cricket in these countries) if an Australian cricket player bowled an under-arm delivery at a crucial stage of a limited over cricket match (as was notoriously the case in a match against New Zealand some years ago) then there would be hell to pay – indeed Australia would be swiftly taken to the that other ICC, the International Cricket Council. Sport is the new opiate of the masses.

The citizens of Tuvalu, other Island Nations, Egypt, Nigeria, Argentina, Brazil, the Netherlands, the UK, Romania, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Burma, Cambodia, Vietnam, the US and China should (a) inform everyone they can about the serious threat Apartheid Australia poses to their countries and the World; (b) apply comprehensive Sanctions and Boycotts against climate criminal and climate genocidal Apartheid Australia as long as it .has an annual per capita greenhouse gas pollution (54 tonnes CO2-e per person per year) greater than that of the Developing World (3 tonnes per person per year); and (c) urge their governments to take Apartheid Australia to the International Criminal Court (ICC) for its continuing disproportionate involvement in the worsening Climate Genocide that threatens South Asia and the World with catastrophe this century.
