Just when you thought there was no hope left, Roseanne Barr has come to the rescue. On Mother’s Day, May 8, 2010, the popular actress and comedian, declared her candidacy for the Presidency of the U.S. And, if that wasn’t enough to scare the pants off the power brokers, she’s also tossing her bonnet into the race for Prime Minister of Israel. If elected, Ms. Barr intends to bring back the guillotine and to use it on the culpable ultra-rich who have been robbing the poor. She promised to only use the Frenchy’s WMD, “on a selective basis,” and also to do away with the “Patriarchal” system. Ms. Barr was introduced by CODEPINK cofounder Medea Benjamin. Ms. Barr’s speech, tongue firmly in cheek, was given in John Marshall Park, in Washington, D.C. as part of the Mother’s Day Peace-related festivities, sponsored by CODEPINK, a peace and justice group.
