La ville de Fallujah a été le thêatre des plus intenses combats menés en Irak par les troupes américaines.
Une étude suppose un lien entre les assauts menées à Fallujah en 2004 et une hausse spectaculaire des fausses couches et des malformations congénitales. L’uranium appauvri pourrait en être à l’origine.
Depuis plusieurs années, la ville irakienne de Fallujah s’alarme du nombre inquiétant de fausses couches et de naissances de bébés difformes.

Avec le collectif IndependentWHO, nous avons mis en place depuis 4 ans, une vigie permanente devant l’Organisation Mondiale de la santé (OMS) à Genève pour demander à celle-ci de revoir l’accord qu’elle a passée en 1959 avec l’Agence Internationale de l’Energie Atomique (AIEA). Il n’y a pas de seuil pour les effets cancérigènes et les effets génétiques : toute dose de rayonnement aussi faible soit-elle comporte un risque. Dire que les doses de radioactivité relevées à Tokyo et sur d’autres sites situés à l’extérieur de la zone des 30 km "demeurent éloignées des niveaux etc... en d’autres termes, elles ne seraient pas dangereuses pour la santé humaine" est totalement faux. Nouvelle saisie par les USA de fonds destinés à la santé publique
CUBA a dénoncé un nouvel acte de blocus des Etats-Unis, qui ont confisqué 4 207 000 dollars que le Fonds mondial de lutte contre le SIDA, la tuberculose et le paludisme avait destiné pour le premier semestre à la santé publique cubaine.
L’annonce a été faite par le vice-ministre du Commerce extérieur et des Investissements étrangers, Orlando Hernandez, qui a souligné que cette action s’ajoute à la longue liste d’exemples (…) -
