December 26, 2003 - Bam, Iran, only 6.6 on the richter scale, but quake is centered directly under the city- 26,000 dead.

December 26, 2004 - Centered off the Indonesian island of Sumatra, the massive quake, which measured 9.0 on the richter scale, unleashed tidal waves across the Indian Ocean.

Toll tops 24,000 as disease fear grows

International aid agencies were rushing to avert the spread of disease in tsunami-devastated coastal regions across southern Asia last night as the number of people reported to have been swept to their deaths passed more than 24,000.

A day after the world’s biggest earthquake in 40 years unleashed a catastrophic surge of giant waves across the Indian Ocean, authorities in the worst-affected countries were battling to head off an even bigger toll among those who survived the initial surge.

Millions of survivors have lost everything, and now urgently need medicine, shelter, food and clean water. "This is a massive humanitarian disaster and the communications are so bad we still don’t know the full scale of it. Unless we get aid quickly to the people many more could die," said Phil Esmond, head of Oxfam in Sri Lanka.

This an amazing coincidence- or is it more than coincidence?

The United States government has the capability of creating earthquakes with HAARP.

And there is a motive for this timing: to distract the populace, especially during the holiday season when many Americans getting together in large family gatherings, perhaps the only opportunity for many to talk with their family about the unjust war in Iraq and the war crimes perpetrated by our government.

Last year Americans were greeted with Bush’s ’heartwarming’ generosity. He offered to lend aid to a member of the ’axis of evil’ when tragedy struck. Republicans across America had ammo for their Christmas dinner conversations: "How can you say Bush is not compassionate? He’s helping the axis of evil, now that’s Christian."

This year the motive is to focus the news on the tragedy, away from the Ukraine re-vote and election reversal. It is undeniable that certain people in power do not want Americans to connect the dots between Ukraine exit polls, a re-vote and victory for the opposition.

Are there any statisticians willing to crunch the numbers- what are the odds of these two catastrophic events occuring Exactly one year to-the-hour apart?

Think about it- The official story is that the 4 black boxes that crashed into the WTC (1 data, 1 voice for each place) were not found, even though they are designed to withstand such explosions, and they even have homing beacons to help rescuers find them. They were not found, but Mohammed Atta’s passport was found in perfect condition. Please explain why you find the official story believable.

      For your information, Indonesia is located on the Ring of Fire, a very active seismic zone, and on October 5, there was an eruption of the Rinjini volcano on Lombok, one of the many islands that comprises Indonesia. I suppose that event was the Bush team warming up for the big event over which you are waxing so conspiratorially.

    • Actually the technology to create earthquakes has been available for nearly 100 years through the inventions of Nikola Tesla, which the US and Russia governments have. Do some research on Tesla and the High Active Auroral Research Project in Alaska (HAARP) and you will find that the technology exists in physical form now, and is being used by the US Navy and USAF as a means of weather modification, amoungst other things. If you believe the myth that only god controls the weather, in all its forms, then youre in the modern equivilent of the ’flat earth’ crowd. Also 10 years ago the United Nations created a ’law’ forbidding the use of weather modifying weapons against other member states, mainly to stop Russia and USA from doing covert testing on each other. Obviously USA are above the laws of the UN that they agreed too.
      Saying the the epicentre was 6 miles under the earths surface is small change considering ELF radio waves (HAARP) can travel through thousands of miles of earth.

It went from passport found, to nothing to FBI interviewed on the anniversary of 911, saying the "passport discovery is a theory that may or may not be true", meaning that there wasn’t one. When asked who’s passport it was, the FBI said we cannot disclose that information due to the ongoing investigation. Then the passport was declared a hoax, blamed on internet conspiracy theorists. Then last anniversary, all of a sudden, a non-descript, undated blurry video of the hijacker that was supposed to have left the passport and a photograph of a charred passport turned up. This was a miracle as the hijacker concerned apparently managed to get on board the plane without his name being added to the flight manifest and without a passport, which turned up afterwards, and he survived the attacks! the hijacker concerned is still alive and living in the middle east. He had reported his passport missing before 911. Needless to say, he was not a hijacker, but that knowledge blows apart the official version of events.

      Nikola Tesla’s Inventions - The Earthquake Machine (1887)!

      Apart from his work on electricity Tesla also experimented with
      mechanical oscillations and invented devices that could produce
      mechanical oscillations of desired frequency. These devices became
      famous as "earthquake machines", because of their ability to resonate

    • The report was filed by the US Geological Survey, but the earthquake was so intense, it was monitored by every other government geological survey. If indeed this was a nuclear device, the harmonic waves would be quite different. China, France, Russia, India, Pakistan, Japan & Australia monitor all activity in the area.       Moments after the clearing was done, I began to have visions of

      extremely focused sense of "personal destiny as granted by the gods"
      or a marching towards victory for his "god".

      I then had a vision of Joe Lieberman, and I saw him crying. I felt
      emotions of what I can only describe as morbid grief, guilt and
      regret. The emotions where saying, "I could have stopped it. I should
      have said something."

      I ended the meditation.

      I got no sense of who won the election. But I came away from it with
      the very strong sense that we are coming up for a pretty rough ride,

      Senator calls for better early-warning technology

      of a State Department Working Group on South East Asia Tsunamis and
      an initial $15 million U.S. Government contribution in relief and
      reconstruction assistance. In a letter to President Bush, Lieberman

      people from Connecticut and across the nation to obtain answers to
      their concerns for relatives and friends in the countries affected by
      this devastating natural disaster.

      Lieberman also called on the President to consider working with the
      numerous regionally-based and US institutions, including the National
      Science Foundation, to create initiatives to improve early-warning
      technology aimed at minimizing future natural disasters losses.

      “We have it in our power to reach out and help those facing such

      we are doing all we can to reduce the suffering in this human tragedy
      as well as to alleviate the impact of future disasters when nature

      aid and assessing needs. The quick creation of a State Department
      Working Group on South East Asia Tsunamis will enable my constituents

      million in assistance is an important down payment on relief and
      reconstruction efforts in this devastated region.

      As we draw lessons from this manifestation of nature’s power, I urge

    • There is news that several U.S. submarines was damaged, one causing death to the sailors and it was news in CNN. Apparently the U.S. submarine was moving at very high speeds near the pacific ocean. And said that the captain apparently accidently hit undersea bottom. I think that shooting a underwater missile under the sea on a known fault in Indonesia was responsible. For causing it. There are reports of fishermen in indonesia who spotted the underwater explosion before the earthquake. This is also in the news. The submarine that was damaged was "apparently’ heading for Brisbane Australia. A remarkable coincidence, I might add. Similar to Superman movie about causing earthquake by missles along the San Andreas fault, don’t you think?

      ...not only is it possable to reach such depths, but there are currently human beings at that depth, and even, coincidentally, in that approximate region of the sea floor. i list some references below. i have not answered all my questions yet, for example the depth of the ocean at the epicenter, but i found enouph accessable, public information that i am convinced it is possable. remember in high school learning that there are enouph nuclear weapons to blow the planet out of orbit three times? also consider the 2001 bushism "there are some people who will believe almost anything, and those are the ones we need to focus on." remarkably similar to the hitlerism "the masses are more likely to believe a big lie than a small one." sometimes he appears to be on the verge of cracking up when he tells a lie. he periodically appears to be deliberately sabotaging, or punishing, contrary "cultures" such as environmentalism. he is a schizophrenic. i am not convinced the quake was contrived, and do not choose to investigate thouroughly, but i would not be completely suprised to find that it was. here is more proof it is possable...

      in the failed "project mohole", which began in 1961, the u.s. was able to drill 610ft into the ocean floor at a depth of 12,000 ft. that is over 2 miles deep, acheived over 40 years ago! project mohole is a well documented event. consider also, that in technologies such as this, with as much industrial potential as military potential, (drilling, etc.) the commercial technology is ofter superior to that of nations/governments. the bushco regime (halliburton et. al.) may conceivably be equiped for such an endeavor (minus the nuke), independent of the u.s. military.

    • Look ! Its quite clear, to those of you that have a brain, that the world is changing fast. The powers that be (and none of us know who exactly these people are) have an agenda which is motivated not just by money, but by many things.
      What we have in the world is powerful interest groups i.e. certain countries and individuals trying to control the reserves of the planet i.e. oil etc. Think about this. He who has the reserves has the control and the power. For example without the oil, the military machine would not work !
      Don’t think that this isn’t a fact as it is blatantly obvious. Now these people will do anything to rule including mass murder etc. In as much as this is by definition ’evil’, the fact is is that it is very necessary as the world would be in a very bad way by now.       Of course this earthquake was NOT a natural disaster. End of story. Look at the trouble spots in the world;- Iraq, Iran, Indonesia, North Korea, Palestine. All these countries in some way pose a threat to America plus other countries security, and PROSPERITY. One of the greatest challenges to world security is North Korea. North Korea is a puppet of China, and therefore the US and its allies are reluctant to take military action. What you have going on IN North Korea now is covert operations aimed at destabilizing the country. I expect China will get North Korea to soon open its doors more to the West. Taken that even further, there are about 8750 hours in a year...if you do the math, you’ll find that, based on the frequency of major earthquakes worldwide, there is a 1:55 chance that there will be an earthquake during any given hour on any given day. Based on the rules of probability, then, there is a 2:3025 (1:1513) chance that there will be a major earthquake on the same hour of the same day in subsequent years. This, people, is not exactly the longest of odds. Additionally, since there were actually an hour apart, we’re looking at approximately a 1:757 chance here.     • The odds of these catostrophic earthquakes occuring as they did are about 1:757...not exactly long odds, as things go. There have been an average of about 160 major (6.0 or higher) earthquakes per year since 1994. Based on that statistical fact, there is about a 1:55 chance of an earthquake occuring within any given hour. These two particular quakes were actually a full hour apart, so there is a two hour window there to figure, statistically speaking. After crunching the numbers, you get a 0.13% chance of this happening or 1:757. Not to say that this makes it something you should expect, but it isn’t exactly like your chances for hitting the lottery jackpot, either. Just wanted to clarify so nobody blew these "impossible odds" out of proportion.

      Look, I respect everyone’s opinion, regardless of how inane and moronic I think it is. But let’s not put more credence in your own thought simply because you feel you can justify it as your own due to your lack of political allegiance to either the right or left. This simply is not valid. For your own clarification, the American media is as liberal as it gets...every story is colored with anti-republican propoganda (with a few exceptions). Personally, I have no interest in the media or its agenda...I disagree with most every "human interest story" they peddle as being newsworthy. Why are you so vocally against the "murders and atrocities" of the US government, but not at all interested in retribution for the murders and atrocities performed by, say, the Iraqi government prior to ’02? This is where my confusion stems from...many of you folks rail simply for the sake of railing against the US, and it frustrates those of us who love our country and take our role in the world seriously. Yes, it is terrible that innocent people have to die, but this is a fact of life and has been since the beginning of time. How many innocent Americans died during our fight for independence? This is the cost of freedom. How many of those 17,000+ dead Iraqis have been killed by suicide bombers and insurgents? Why is what the Pentagon says all lies but what is said by groups like the Red Cross and United Nations to be taken at face value? All the "research" you all say you do to produce your own free thoughts, where does this come from? For the most part, every thing you use to base your theory on is coming from one source or another. So why, then, when I make a series of statements based on my reality are you so quick to dismiss it as "Media zombification" but whatever you say is considered "free thinking"? Simply because our sources are different? It is VERY clear that the United Nations, which shares your ideologic belief that what the US is doing is wrong, long had been manipulated by Iraq for their own personal gains (via Oil For Food)...this cannot be debated. It is VERY clear that the French and Germans, the two most vocal opponents to US action on Iraq also, coincidentally were the nations responsible for the highest percentage of military imports (breaking international law, I should add) and government contracts with Iraq. Why are these things swept under the rug? People talk of Haliburton and how they have gotten so many contracts to help rebuild Iraq, well, I tell you that Haliburton is the largest US contractor for that type of work, so who would you expect to get the most contracts??? It is a fallacy to say that the US wants to dominate the world’s oil market...there is just no proof to this whatsoever. What we do want to do, I am sure, is not allow a tyrant to do the same.

      You speak of the revote in Ukraine being minimalized, I ask you why would this happen? WHO IN AMERICA’S GENERAL PUBLIC CARES ABOUT THIS??? Why would it dominate our airwaves? It’s not like you can’t find news on it....go to www.drudgereport.com....every single day there is a top-billed story regarding that re-vote....and this is a very right-wing website.       Reality is 90% perception is a little thing I like to always say when having these types of discussions. What you perceive as being factual is going to be different from me, and what I perceive as real is going to differ with the next guy, etc. We can all argue until we are blue in the face about who’s right and wrong, and that’s what makes sites like this valuable, but all that I ask is that those of you so quick to dismiss the US and our actions as being self-serving, greedy and torturous take a long look at the facts and the history. What is it worth to secure the world for our children and their children? Even beyond that, those children in Afghanistan who have been fostered to hate us and taught to murder us now may have a chance to think for themselves. The children in Iraq who had no chance but to suffer in anonymity as those in positions of power grew more and more wealthy while ruling under an iron fist now may be able to dream of making a difference in their own society. These things take time and tough decisions and, most importantly, sacrifice. America has NEVER taken over and occupied another country over the long term....not once. America does not threaten its neighbors with violence and domination if they do not comply with our way of life. America does not interfere with the political processes of other democratic countries. Americans do not burn efiges in the streets of other world leaders and chant anti-nation slogans of other countries. Americans do not strap bombs to themselves and murder innocent people in an attempt to make their voices heard. Americans do not sequester their women and have sexual relations with teenage boys. America does not use chemical weapons on any people under any circumstance, as they are inhumane and torturous. America does not make any decisions internally without the majority approval of a 500+ person body of ELECTED officials signing off on it. Why, then is George Bush such a monster and America such a proven evil entity? All I ask is for a little bit of sanity and restraint to be used. Earthquakes have happened for millions of years. More people will die as more people inhabit more places on the planet. GWB is just another man in a position of power. He is not the incarnation of Satan and he is not some greedy oil-driven monster. He is simply trying to undo all that previous administrations have done to compromise our national security.

      Indonesia is one of the most vocal anti-american nations in the world. This tsunami is viewed by the bush adminsitration as convenient and timely. There are no strong economical ties with any of the nations hurt by this disaster. Which is why Bush did not make a statement right away. He just did not care. Knowing the way Bush has handled his war on terror, I am confident that he would approve an explosion induced underwater earthquake to cripple the Indonesian anti-american sentiment.

      However, to find out if this was nuclear or natural, you have to observe the P and S seismic wave shapes as well as their symmitrical properties which can be determined through seismographs at different observation points.

      So far, evidence points to a natural earthqauke.

      So ..it is more than BELIEVABLE that the Bush administration would do such a thing..but probably not this time.

      Now, we need to be concerned about giving aid to the people who are devestated by this total misfortune. It is shameful how much our president will spend for a war for oil, versus how much aid he is willing to give these suffering people.     • I haven’t said much on the thread topic...got sidetracked as I tend to do....so here goes. Yes, it is very possible for the US to "create" directed weather anomalies. The Soviet Union claimed they acquired the ability to do this as early as the 60’s, and you have to think we also have a limited capability to do the same. Physics dictates that directed energy weapons using elongated wavelengths could be used to create earthquakes, as well, though I still resist the notion that these have successfully been created. But, more so than any other facet of this discussion, I find it an unbelievable idea that the cradle of the free world would be irresponsible enough to use such a weapon so wantonly. Naysayers and conspiracy theorists will continue arguing that this, along with the Bam earthquake are "test sites", pointing to the coincidences mentioned throughout the early parts of this string. I say to you that the laws of chance dictate that the similarities between the times and dates of these earthquakes aren’t so prosperously random. As I said, there is a 1:757 chance that this can happen over any two year span, based on the numbers over the past 10 years. To me, those are acceptable odds and certainly can be coincidence. Other than the interesting similarities between the time and date, there is little proof of anything even remotely resembling foul play.

      My underlying point here is that the America I know and love would never, ever create such havoc and atrocities for the sake of technology. If this was an act of military might, we’d be best suited turning our gaze toward the former Soviet Union, as they have publicly flaunted the existence of a new, top-secret military weapon system.

Than the Indian ocean is a probably candidate, aren’t it? My next point is that we figured out that Russia also has a tectonic weapon. And Russia has her own reasons to be willing to threaten the US and to show her military might. For example, to prevent the US from acting as a world dictatator. I know this sounds as an insult to you, but there are many people in the world who think that the US has asssumed itself to be a world dictator with no right to do so (this forum included). So, you have to respect their opinion. Than Russia might do the same thing (create a giant tsunami). Plus tsunami threat would make more sense in the case of Russia. The US is surrounded by two oceans and Russia is not. It is a continental state. Therefore, a giant tsunami is a threat to the US not to Russia. So, we found two probable candidates for being able to create an artificial earthquake and tsunami. Thought, it is very hard for me to beleive that ANYONE would ever do such a thing. Unless they do this to prevent an already existing threat to humanity...Interesting conspiracy conversation...

    • As an American, I do understand the perception that we are attempting, as a nation, to be world dictators and I’m sensative, as are most non-government affiliated Americans, to these concerns by others. I have respect for those who make their points against our actions...though I will admit it is difficult to respect comments when nothing substantive is mentioned in the reasoning. But what should be understood, I feel, is that what we’ve done as a nation lately has been little more than reversing our mistakes from recent history. I’m going to get off topic here a bit, but I’d really like to say what needs to be said...take the UN, for example. This is an organization put together to supercede the needs and wishes of the world’s super powers in an effort to dissuade countries from attempting to run roughshod over the world. While the principal idea behind this is a good one, in recent years, this organization has not done its job. If, as many suspect, the US’s circumvention of the UN had been an effort to allow for more control in world matters for the sake of domination, one could assume that we’d have pulled away altogether from the organization. Rather, we’ve decided that the status quo, as it was, could not be tolerated any longer. Sanction after sanction came down on Iraq, but there was no accountability. Reason: because lots of people, mostly in the UN, stood to lose a lot of money if Iraq was legitimized. This is corruption of the grandest scale...a world body charged with defending all the world’s peoples becoming puppets to a despotic regime for the sake of the almighty dollar. As with most other beurocracies, this top-heavy organization has become overrun with corruption, special interests and in-fighting. Unfortunately, this has led to an decreased sense of accountability to all those criminals and rogue regimes out there...they now have nobody to answer to. Well, the US has simply said that this is not the case. A leap of faith may need to be taken to understand that the US has no sights on world conquest. Fostering democracy is a totally different animal than acquiring foreign lands. No leadership structure has been put into place outside of the US military in either Afghanistan or Iraq. In fact, if you look at the Afghan situation, we have little if any influence on the government process as it is today. I reckon Iraq will be the same way, if and when we ever get the nation stabilized. We’ve learned lessons from the past....Russia’s mishandling of their Afghan war led to a power vaccuum which indirectly cost thousands of free human beings their lives....previous mistakes made in the first Iraq war led to the slaughter of thousands of Muslims who had railed against Saddam. This had to be done right, and it has been, by-in-large. Unfortunately, it is a tough decision and a rough situation. Clinton, if y’all remember, was too concerned with public opinion to make these tough decisions in the best interest of the world at large. For 8 years he threw money and misinformation at his problems...he just wanted them to go away, but was not willing to make them do so. Bush has been willing to put his neck on the line without wavering...his message is and has been consistent with his actions, and this should not be lost in the translation. We have no visions of world domination...we have visions of world freedom and world peace. To those who say they don’t want freedom, I say they’ve never truly experienced it. I’m no right-wing zealot nor am I a conservative Christian...but I voted for Bush, because as far as politicians go, he does what he says he’s going to do REGARDLESS of public backlash. If he breaks the laws, international or otherwise, he should be punished. But he hasn’t yet, which should tell y’all something.

      Back to the point of this discussion thread....your theory about Russia’s motivation for a very accute display of force are good. While I maintain that I believe this was a natural earthquake, it is interesting that Russia has been very silent on the matter. I would wager a good amount of my salary that the Pentagon is busy discerning geologic evidence leading up to the earthquake to ensure themselves that this was, indeed, a natural occurance. It is clear that the technology has been in development and that there is intent from both the US and Russia in creating these types of weapons, but, as I said, I hesitate to accuse either side of such atrocities since neither has a history of such cold-blooded murder, regardless of what is said by the America-haters out there.

    • I have absolutely different opinion about the UN and its role. Though, I have to admit that this organization has lost some of its influence in the recent years. Your point of view on Iraq is clear. I think it overlaps with an official point of view of the US government. Right or wrong, but rougthly 50% of your population does not support Bush and I would assume has a different point of view about the Iraq war. But I don’t want to argure about this. And, yes, it’s off the topic. I only wish that the US will bring this country into some order before you leave. Everybody regardless of whether they were against this war or for it, wish the same thing now.

      About the topic. Russia was silent. Though, it did sent help (people, money, rescure teams, equipment). But. There were not too many Russian tourists there. At this time of the year there are mainly tourists from the western countries and they were hit the most ( except, of course for locals. Horrible:( ). Europe alone lost around 5000 people. Catholic and protestant Christmas is December 25 and Russian (same as Ukrainian) is the first week of January. So, people from the western countries who came for Christmas holidays suffered the most. That’s one of the reasons why Russia was silent. They lost around (I don’t remember) 20 people or so.

      I am not that sure about the possibility that this was man-made. Not even sure about the weapon. ANd in our days I think it’s absolutely impossible to do any nuclear explosions in such a way that the other side won’t notice. I still think that this conspirasy is more like a science fiction. But I think tha bothe the US and Russia are on alert and check whether the other side is guilty. Strange, almost 15 years after the cold war we are getting back to it again. My question to those who say "The world is waiting for you to lead...", what more needs to be done by the USA??? We donate far and away the most money and resources to such global issues as AIDS, Cancer, famine, Multiple Sclerosis and terrorism. We have used our military to attempt to quell international conflicts in North Africa and the Balkans in recent years, and we won’t even mention WWII. What so many seem unwilling to accept is that this isn’t some elementary school lunch line where someone gets in front and everyone else falls into place behind them. Others need to follow examples, or, if nothing else, set some of their own. I see all too often complaicency in those very same groups who rail the loudest when things get rough. If others had taken a little initiative, thousands would not have died in the Sept. 11 tragedies, thousands would not have died in Bali, thousands would not have died in the aftermath of the Afghan and Iraq war. It is very easy to sit back and sling rocks, but is much more difficult to stand in the line of fire of those rocks and continue to look forward. If you call Bush and his "minions" selfish and you say he and his people are only interested with lining their own pockets, I’m sorry, but you are not looking at the realities of the situation. What has Bush gained by his actions? Where are these buckets of money he is accumulating? To what are you referring? You say that the right wing should look at the science or the facts, but all the while you are saying this, you are making baseless, factless, generic comments regurgitated by all Bush-haters.

      Timothy McVeigh was from the USA. And he is now dead, via our capitol punishment system. You see, we punish our own here, if so necessary, equally (in fact, MORE harshly) than we punish foreigners. There are bad people from the USA, there are bad people in the US Military...people who abuse and embarass prisoners of war, people who murder innocent civilians....but it seems the US has become the world’s scapegoat. To this I say, in order to earn the right to question others, shouldn’t we first be forced to question ourselves?

    • I think, yes. You should question yourselves :-/. Having 5% of the world’s population, the USA consumes 40% of the world’s resources. How about this? Is it possible for the rest of the world to achieve the same living standards, if you have ALREADY expropriated most of the pie? And why are you so greedy? Why do you need that much? Your help with AIDS, disasters, etc. is NOTHING in comparison to what you are absorbing on a day-to day basis.

Our consumption is not something to take lightly, I agree, but countries such as Japan, China and most of Europe aren’t too far behind in terms of resource use. To insinuate that our standards of living are at all connected to those of foreign places is absurd. Would you have us live like the third world when we have been on the cutting edge of most every new technological and scientific development since the early 1900’s?? As I’ve said before, to make progress, you must make sacrifices, and, to that end, with sacrifice comes rewards. Our standard of living has cost us countless lives and years and years of hard work. The only power that is capable of judging is the God, in whatever capacity you recognize Him. He created every man/woman equal and gave all of man-/womankind the same tools with which to work. To damn Americans because they’ve managed to raise their standard of living by applying their tools in a positive manner is ridiculous. What so few recognize is that our "gluttonous" standard of living, as it is so often referred to, is a result of democratic involvement each and every American has in his government affairs. While you can criticize our gluttony and our consumption, I ask you how many worldwide killer diseases have had their onset in the US? How many billions of dollars in aid have we bled from the international community? If we had no need to worry about protecting our people, we could relax our standards a bit. But, unfortunately, despotic governments, corrupt oil tyrants and fundamentalist terrorists have compromised any individual not overcome with "gluttony". If we could rely on others to be responsible and to not take advantage of us, we could spend less time, money and resources protecting ourselves. For some reason, the US takes the brunt of the blame on this...but you can’t blame a nation for doing whatever needs to be done to protect its peoples....if only we could all be so lucky.

Wolfowitz, former ambassador to the region, as Undersecretary of State wrote of the need for pre-emptive strikes in September 2000, the build up of American naval presence in Southeast Asia, and increased spending for research in all areas of warfare, including covert and internet. It would be a chance to work together for the common good.

      II. The Age of Computers makes this a possibility. We need to use the same technologies terrorists are using for evil.

      III. It will be administered annually by funds received from member nations STOPPING ALL FOREIGN AID FUNDS to dictatorial and terrorist regimes, as for example the Palestinian Authority etc, and diverting these funds to the U.N. for record keeping.

Thanks to Confucius, the words" Do not do unto others what you would not want done unto you" traveled on the Silk Road to the Middle East, where a certain Jesus Christ said "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

      IV. Urge our government to lead the United Nations Security Council to vote to end financial and military support to terrorist- led governments.
      Fundamental Islamic militants who gain control of a nation would receive zero foreign aid from the members of the United Nations who condemn them, for human rights atrocities, and for the subjugation of women. As it is Al Qaeda is trying to wrest control of Iraq’s government by killing off its moderate leadership. Trade sanctions would be imposed.

Urge Jewish and Arab/Muslim leaders to interview guests who testify to the power of their faith in making the world a better place to live in.
      Broadcast scenes showing how hard work has helped others in an interdependent world:, for example , U.S. helicopters aiding survivors in Iran’s earthquake, donations from governments and individuals to help allieviate the suffering of the tidal waves survivors, excetera. In addition Programs on nutrition, health and education are desperately needed in many regions of the world. Employ local people to translate and present the world community at its best.
      Member nations could sponsor the station by advertising their countries history and treasures to solicit tourism.

      Putting money into the pockets of the have-nots from the money of those who have plenty is sensible for the Holy Land security. All would benefit except the terrorists who’d lose their followings. As Time Magazine reports, their numbers are growing, fueled by the atrocities of the good guys.

    Your point of view on the role of the UN and the war in Iraq is clear. I have a completely different opinion on this issue, but, yes, it’s off-topic. I think that with respect to Iraq roughly 50% of the population in the US is against the war. Regardless, every one wants that order and peace will be returned to this country before the American troops live. That’s in every body’s interests and that’s out of the question.

    On the topic. Russia was silent but it did sent help (money, equipment, rescuer teams). The reason is also that there were not too many Russian tourists there. December 25 is Christmas time in the west, not in Russia (Russian or Ukrainian Christmas is the first week of January. December 25 is not a holiday there). So, European countries suffered major losses in terms of lives of tourists (not talking about locals. Horrible tragedy).

    I am not sure about the weapon or that the whole thing was man-made. To me it’s more like a science fiction. Plus from the moral prospective: What kind of a psycho do you have to have sitting inside the government who is able to order doing such a thing??? Anyways…But I do think that it would make sense if both sides would do steps to figure out what happened there in reality.

    • You are wrong. There are lots of speculations going on around the globe right now. This article was one of them. By the way volcanoes were used as "weapons’ against the enemy even in the ancient world. People used to "stuff" the volacnoe with lots of stones before the eruption. One ancient city was destroyed in such a manner (don’t remember which one). So, tectonic weapon is not a modern creation (at least the idea is not new).

      While you are entitled to your opinion, I feel obligated to point out some inadequacies in your justification for this opinion...perhaps some clarification may put your mind a bit more at ease. Bush did not say the Afghans did it....it was made quite clear that Bin Laden did it (seeings how he took responbility) and what Bush said was that all countries who harbor terrorists would be treated as terrorists, hence the attack on Afghanistan. Bin Laden was not let loose by GWB (he was, however, let loose by William Jefferson Clinton, whose administration and military advisors have repeatedly stated that they had the chance to have him killed but opted against it), he is an escapist and did just that in a region condusive to such an escape. But, an important note is that he has been minimalized. You can only spend so much money to scour mountains in remote regions of the Asia sub-continent, and we, as a county, are doing all that is necessary. This should conclude the Bin Laden topic.

      On to Iraq and "their OIL". I keep hearing this argument, but the US IS NOT USING ANY MORE IRAQI OIL THAN WE WERE PRIOR TO THE WAR. The US is not making money off of this oil. The US is not exporting this oil to its allies. This is an argument of perception and the facts do not back it up even a little bit. As for the weapons of mass destruction "he" (Bush) said that we’d find, let’s not forget that the ENTIRE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY worked under the assumption that Saddam has WMD. This was not some story Bush concocted on his own. Clinton, Vlad Putin, the UN, Hans Blix (remember him), John Kerry (remember him, too) all made public comments on the conclusiveness that Iraq had WMD capabilities prior to the onset of the war. As far as "no one else being allowed to have nuclear weapons", it wasn’t America who dictated that Iraq couldn’t have WMD, my friend. It was the international community, i.e. the United Nations. There are rules and regulations countries must follow to be entitled to WMD. The US has always adhered to these rules. Iraq has not. North Korea has not. Iran has not. Russia has. Britain has. France has.       Please describe to me how Bush "hates the Muslims". Have we invaded Indonesia? Have we invaded the Russian provinces? Have we invaded Pakistan? Have we locked up Muslims in our own country? Have we outlawed Islam within our borders? I think Bush hates militants, as should we all. Those people who Bush targets release videotapes of civilians being slaughtered inhumanely.     Earthquakes happen and they often happen in groups as a knock-on effect of an initial quake, which is why you get a higher incidence of quakes in some decades/centuries than others. (NB a geological grouping may seem random to humans because our temporal guage is so small compared to that at which geological events occur)

    People stupid enough to attempt world domination by destroying the planet are not usually rich enough to implement any plans they may have. And if they were, stupidity wouldn’t get them very far. No one is secretly trying to destroy the world. No one is directing "HAARP" waves at specific areas to cause destruction. Oh yeah, you where cowering in fear because you knew your "leaders" were okay with murdering in cold blood those who showed some assemblance of an independent thought. You ever wonder why it is there is so much negative propoganda toward the US? Could it have something to do with freedom of speech that is otherwise unattainable? If you are in Iran, for instance, and you publicly challange one of your religious leader’s mandates...what would happen? But if you speak out against America? Totally acceptable. Human nature lends itself to lusting for freedom of speech and voicing your opinion, so the Muslim community, so oppressed by their leaders, are led to believe that their only outlet for freedom is to take a cause against the "Big, Bad Americans" who have done nothing but look out for basic human rights over the past two centuries. Why? I’ll put it in terms you all MAY understand.....you have a school teacher who runs his class with an iron fist. No talking, no gum chewing, strict penalties and classes run by the book. Everyone is expected to wear a ties and slacks, no exceptions. Even if you perform well in classwork, you are expected to meet this rigid requirements. If you are a bad student, the same applies. Everyone is treated equally but poorly. On the other side of the school, you have a teacher who lets her students be a bit more independent. Gum chewing is okay, soft talking can be tolerated as long as the work is completed to a satisfactory level. You can be individual in your attire, but within reason, of course. If you aren’t working at a satisfactory level (even if you grades are bad, its all about doing your best) in this second class, you are not to be allowed in this class any longer. Which class will those students prefer? Which class do you think would get better results? Couldn’t it stand to reason that once a student experienced the second, more laid back approach, that they would embrace it and flourish in it? And couldn’t it also stand to reason that once a student experienced the second class, that they would loathe the first? Finally, wouldn’t you expect the teacher of the first class to be much more dictatorial in fear of his students catching a glimpse of what occurs on the other side of the school?

      Sorry for rambling, but this worldwide opinion that America and GWB are evil, greedy entities preying on the world’s impovershed is not only flawed in every conceivable vein of thought, but is also counterproductive to the success of the world as a whole. What is there to gain by hating others more fortunate? The question is what is to lose by not hating others....ask that to your tyrranical and fundamentalist leaders....seems THEY are the ones with the most to lose in any of this.

      We have a saying in Belgium that goes (translated) as follows: "He who wants to beat a dog, will always find a stick." It means that if you want to hurt or blame somebody, you will always find a so called "reason". To hate or to tell something bad about somebody, is endless and very easy. But to love or tell something good about somebody, is very difficult.

      I would like to apply 2 similar principle to this thread:

      1) "He who wants to make up a conspiracy theory, will always find facts."

      2) "He who wants to make up a conspiracy theory, will always find followers."

      All the energy, time and money spent on making up and grinding out conspiracy theories, is lost energy, time and money. There are people starving to death right now and they deserve our energy, time and money.
      Use your intellectual / emotional / financial / .... talents to help people who need our help and stop whining about "bad presidents" and "suspicious governments".

    I see your point and I do agree to some of it namely the freedom of religion. I think that freedom of religion is something that everyone is entitled to. I think that media concocting stories is not a form of freedom of speech. Media is supposed to be impartial. Stating facts on both sides of the arguement. They are not supposed to pick sides and as most people rely on CNN making people blind as to the truth.

    I don’t support Bush and I never have. When I heard that Bush was elected as President my first thought was "he’s gonna go for Iraq and do exactly what his dad did" and I wasn’t wrong. I get the American fear but think about it..How can you blame people for hating America when Americans are the one causing their grief..You hate terrorist because the attacked America..What about the people America attacks? What about Iraq who as we all know did nothing to America? As about stating that Bush hates Muslims..Well look at all the wars or battles he picked..Aren’t they all involving Muslims..Palestine and Israel - Muslims and always Muslims are said to be in the wrong..When a Muslim country breaks an agreement Bush is the first to be against it..We all know that in North Korea there’s WMD so why is Bush not picking a war with them? Them having it was more certain than Iradis having it..Why go for the Muslim countries?

    As for the oil..I don’t think Bush anticipated this much resistance from the Iraqis which is why he did not deploy enough men to fight initially. He thought that Iraqis would just give up and give in. I am sure if they did, Bush would be onto the oil before you can say "peace". For now he is just safekeeping the oil..Putting men all around it so that it don’t get destroyed. When he finally wins or if he finally wins I’m sure the oil will be claimed by him. How long did it

    U said that the rules relating to WMD is not Bush’s will. He did not write the rules and therefore it could be said that he is not entitled to enforce the rule. The reason why we have the UN is so that there would be no one country who will be the dictator of ations. So that no one country has a veto power. So then, why without the approval of the UN did Bush go to war with Iraq? UN clearly said that there was not enough evidence that more surveys were needed. In essence it is he, Bush, who can say who can and cannot have WMD. do u agree with me on that point?

    You also said that everytime u look into ur children’s eyes u pray that they don’t meet the America haters. I am sure the Iraqis look into their children’s eyes and pray that they don’t meet American soldiers who will take their life. have you seen how many children bodies uncovered from the war? Imagine if they were your children. The Bible says ’do unto others as you would have them done unto you’. I wouldn’t wish on anyone what happened to people in Iraq. I think the war was unjustified. it caused too many death and destruction without any justification for it. They’re all just sitting ducks.

    • I am a greek person living in Australia and I agree that love is the key, but you know what? its not at all complicated and all of this can be solved if we thought as human beings. take the billions of dollars spent on new cars, makeups, dvd surround sound, military, guns, the latest fashion, bigger tvs, and you all know this material list can go on and on for thousands of pages and pages, all these things have blinded us to the reality which is a wonderful natural world which we have polluted and continue to destroy. take all this money and we can bring every person and country to healthy living standards but this means we cant drive that new car etc etc but all of you who say you care do nothing and would never give up these things. and george bush (who is a small man in comparison, the real people doing the damage are hiding and us accusing the puppets means nothing-its just wasting more time while the real damage is being done)these people know this fact that most people today would hesitate to give up all these luxuries or privileges and that is why they are winning and we think in the name of progress and technology think we are going forward but in actual fact are going backwards. Its not complicated look into our planets history, read between the lines, for thousands of years all the previous races lived peacefully and did nothing to detsroy the earth,(thousands of years and we come along) in the last 100 to 50 years we have developed weapons of mass destruction and polluted the world detsroyed almost all of the planets nature to put up banks and hotels etc etc, what has happened in the last 100 years to cause so much damage when previous races lived for thousands without a problem. wake up everybody-its not about money or sex or drugs, something drastically has changed in the recent years and it doesnt make any sense. many ancient people believed that the most wise and happy people are those who have progressed in their soul not in their material life which we know is temporary. and those who talk about facts, the only thing that is fact is death, we do not know where we came from and we do not know where we are going. everything in between is the illusion, even scientists cannot tell us exactly how the mind works, we are a sad egotistical people who think we control everything but we control nothing.

  • I believe that the Indian & Pakistain Government, whose underground testing of nuclear warheads on a tetonic plate are responsible. I don’t believe that anyone should speak for God, Ali, or Yaweh(what ever you may call god). I think that scientific analysis will prove that blowing up nuclear warheads over tetonic plates, 20 to 40 miles under the earths’ crust will cause such earthquakes.
