by John ReynoldsDuring the Presidential Debate Bush made what may be his most costly error- he exposed that he’s using an earpiece to help him answer debate questions.

In the middle of an answer bush said, "now let me finish" as if someone was interrupting him - yet nobody did - he was talking to the person in his earpiece.

Listen to the mp3 yourself- or watch the video at c-span

There is an <a

I’ve been thinking for years that we need something major to blow this
scam wide open, like Bush exposing himself on national tv. Last night
he did just that.

The ’let me finish’ quip was clearly bush talking to someone (probably
Rove) in his earpiece- saying ’let me finish’ (before you give me the
next answer).

He blows it 60 seconds into his 90 second reply- so no
warning lights had gone off and the moderator had not motioned for him
to end as there was plenty of time left.

There is really no other plausible explanation for this huge blunder-
who was he telling to ’let him finish’? The voices in his head?

Is he talking to God again? Shouldn’t this be enough to warrant a major
investigation of some sort- bush is so incompetent he needs
an earpiece to speak in public!

The entire Bush regime is a house of
cards- let this be the first card pulled from the bottom tier - send
this fool and his evil cabal to the ICC for War Crimes.

This info has been sent to the Kerry campaign, will they do anything
with it?

If it were Kerry’s blunder, you know Bush’s team would
be all over him.

If Kerry won’t do the same, one must ask- why not?

Forum posts

  • When they showed shots of Bush from the back, it looked like there was a wire beneath his suit jacket.

    • I noticed that there appeared to be a small rectangular box under his jacket back also. He moves his eyes as if listening to something and that would account for his delay in responding.
The carrier frequency can be detected and fucked-up messages can be sent to the reciever. Maybe thats what did happen. This could account for his more than usual moronic replies.

    • I suspected an earpiece at first too. I also did see that thing in his back - but I thought about it for a while and concluded it could possible be body armor of some sort. There’s no way he’s going out on that stage with a bulletproof vest on. He wears one in all his public appearances and there’s no reason to think he wasn’t wearing one at the debate.

    • Since the earpiece and receiver are wireless, it seems to me that the frequency used should be easy to find with a proper scanner.

Perhaps someone can (did?) jam the transmission during the next debate, or...better yet, feed Bush answers that are even more off point than his normal responses, or... play the Dixie Chicks’ greatest hits for him.

    • I didn’t notice any wires, but I sure noticed the pauses, as if waiting for inspiration from somewhere. The not switching horse in midstream should only apply if you are in the right stream, at the right place to cross, can see the other bank. It would be a little handy to have a reason to cross too.

    • During the debate, when George W. was shown from the side or back I too noticed a strange, triangular wrinkled mark in his suit coat. I thought it odd that this rich man from Texas, the President of the United States would wear such an ill-fitting suit to such an important event. I was too naive to realize it could be wiring, and yet, before the debates I had told my family it would not surprise me if Bush wore some kind of device so someone (probably Karl Rove) could provide responses for his mouth. I even pictured a Charley McCarthy image with a George W. head.

    • I mentioned this the night of the debates on my radio show. You can see the battery pack on his back between the shoulder blades.

    • I too noticed something odd under Bushs suit coat in the middle of his back. Also, I wondered who it was that interrupted him, since I heard no one but Bush speaking. In my opinion, Reynolds hypothosis is plausible.

    • I have been reading this on other boards also and understand that the earpiece story came up on a KFPK (Los Angeles) talk show yesterday. I wouldn’t put the use of an earpiece past Bush and his handlers, since they have demonstrated that in the interest of winning they will raise unscrupulosity to new levels. But I have to say this: Bush’s performance was so lousy that if he was being prompted, his coach must have been Dopey.

    • I heard on c-span’s Journal, this morning, a right wing woman call in that Bush was"tired" in the debate because he was wearing a bullet proof vest under his coat and that they were very heavy. She said it was visible (if you looked carefully).

    • We all know he was wearing a microphone.

Yet when you see a box under his jacket on his back, exactly what the microphone is connected to, you jump to assume it must be an earpiece for his radio.

Then what is the microphone attached too.

In your jump for a conspiracy, you miss the obvious.

    • You fucking morons. If you watch the video he is looking directly at the moderator who on many occassion raised his hand to both Bush and Kerry when he was going to talk with him. Lehrer was gesturing to Bush and Bush said, "let me finish". Where you come up with a wireless microphone is unbelievable. And all your sheep follow your lead.

    • You have got to be kidding! If there was some earpiece I guarantee it wouldn’t require a wire or a separate receiver.

How small a budget do you think W has to work with?

No one uses the sort of device you are implying W did anymore for covert operations except maybe those that have been broke for a long time – those things are dinosaurs!

    • Does it EVER occur to you Michael Morons that the President had on a bullet proof vest?

    • Do you have a URL where we can see the back of bush?

    • Bush doesn’t need a bulletproof vest. He has the best protection any -president could ask for—Dick Cheney as next in line to the White House.

      cwhig

    • Missing the obvious: I don’t think Bush could have been that bad if he was being fed the answers. His performance was terrible.

    • Or perhaps, it is you who is a sheep in a much greater herd.

/me = lost all faith in democracy.

    • You are right on that statement. When one considers the alternative before the election, Bush has no worries.

      Belle in Las Vegas

    • Where can I see shots of Bush from the bacK? I haven’t been able to find those. C-span’s link isn’t even showing the debate right now; I found that interesting.

    • Obviously, he is not looking at Jim lehrer when he makes his ’Let me finish’ comment and to suggest that he is, is ridiculous. If you watch the debate you’ll notice that the president is directing the majority of his comments to Jim Lehrer, who is positioned so the president must look down and to his left in order to talk to him. There is clear evidence of this at 43:58 into the speech when the president directly addresses Mr. Lehrer with his comment "But I think it’s worth it Jim." Notice his head position at freeze frame when addressing Mr. Lehrer. Then notice where he is looking when he makes the let me finish comment. he actually looks up from jim lehrer right before the comment and looks off into the distance, clearly arguing with the little voice in his head. Watch the tape, it’s OBVIOUS. Down...and to the left. Down...and to the left. Down...and to the left.

    • actually, the microphone was in front of him, on the podium. in the next two debates they will be wearing lapel microphones, but in this one, no. that was not the microphone.

       abby

    • well, i’m no expert, but i don’t think kevlar has a large, blocky box in the back that leaves an odd light pattern like that.

      Abby

    • How many other presidents have used help like you are alleging Bush to have used? Does this really make him an inept president? I already know your answer, so don’t bother replying.

    • To the F---ing moron that thinks he saw both jim and bush at the same time, during that time of The debate."raising his hand" you must be the moron thinking that happened.... Watch the Debate video stupid! It Just goes to show stupid is as stupid does.... You are as stupid as Bush is YOU DUMB ASS FOOL...You people can only pertect and lie for a fool for so long.. Times up... There ain’t gonna be a 4 more years.... They’ll be only 4 more weeks......

HUM aaaah, um, HUM aaaah, um. lol

    • ya, that little banter of what i would expect from a 4th grader really proves your case!

    • Yeah, I guess they couldn’t use the ’telepromter in the podium’ that Bush has used in every TV appearance since he was inaugurated, 4 years ago.

    • You bring up a good point, if it was wireless there would still have to be a receiver on Bush someplace; now there wouldn’t be any wires between the earpiece and the receiverif it was a wireless device, but he definitely would require some type of a receiver unit. With all the FM signals flying around that auditorium, TV, Radio, Mics, etc., the earpiece Bush wore would of had to of had it’s own signal source.

    • No such luck, I’m sure they’ve got some other way of ’feeding him his lines’ tonight. You have to remember, the Bush campaign and Administration monitors all these message boards and chat rooms and they’re not going to do the same ’trick’ as last time; you can count on it.

    • Actually, if you play back that debate, at the point where Bush says, "Let me finish", he’s NOT looking at Jim Lehrer, he doesn’t seem to be looking at anything in front of him or to either side, but rather like he’s ’seeing a teleprompter screen in his head’. This is at the point when he makes that statement; also, if you plan the debate back again and really listen to it, there’s NO SOUND coming from Jim Lehrer; besides Lehrer is a professional news journalist and interviewer, he knows to always WAIT until the interviewee has finished before asking another question!

    • Now why would he even need a bullet proof vest, in an auditorium that had security tighter than a ’virgin’. That’s a ridiculous statement!

    • This really drives home point on the mysterious item under Bush’s jacket. Check it out:
      http://www.detroitfilms.com

    • The device failed to work properly — that is why Bush was so off his game.
The reception was staticy and intermittent, so the CC was really confused
at times. It may be that someone was jamming the signal.

An aide denied that an "audio signal" was sent to Bush, but what
about an RF (radio frequency) signal?

    • Oh my GOD, that was so funny!!! I am just a visitor here and stumbled upon your forum...pls check out libertyunites.tv another great forum...I used this site to make a point on our forum. I too noticed something strange about Georgie and went looking for answers...and hey, pls don’t think I am here to promote my forum, but it is a great place and some of us feel like family there...once you visit you will like it and come back...

    • Does this really make him an inept president?

Absolutely NOT! HE makes himself an inept president all by his very wittle self.

    • It doesn’t matter because Bush and Kerry come from the same secret society.

Look here for videos and more info:

      http://www.funtrunk.com/XL/?ID=1512

    • When President Bush stated "let me finish", there could have been some movement by Mr. Lehrer that caused the President to say what he did. Why is no-one looking at what could be a very easy explanation for what happened? It seems President Bush comes under fire for anything and everything and that’s absolutely wrong.

    • no... bush didnt have on a bulit proof vest the white house let out a statement saything that neither canadits were wearing one

    • He was not wearing a bulletproof vest - see quote below. Ms. Devenish could not say why the "rumpling" was rectangular.

Nor was the bulge from a bulletproof vest, according to campaign and White House officials; they said Mr. Bush was not wearing one.

    • You repuks just can’t believe bush would anything like that, Wake bush is a fried brain all the years of drugs and booze has taken it’s toll...

This punk is unfit to be president, that’s why the nazi jew Cheney in the de facto president, they have to keep bush on meds so he won’t blow up at people on his staff ot when he is in a situation that someone may disagree with him...

You have seen the way he gets when someone catches him off guard and hits him with questions that he is not prepared to take on...

The punk is a phony a puppet a stooge a complete psychopath...

    • Thats not the point; the point is that there is a MOA (a memorandum of agreement) that prohibits such devices. He committed fraud plain and simple; I believe that Kerry knows this and thats the reason Kerry was seen in both debates patting Bush on the back and side before they went to their respective stations

Bush has used this device in the past; at a Chirac press conference on D Day and THE EARPIECE FELL OUT AND HE PUT IT IN HIS POCKET. Chiracs expression is priceless; like WTF is going on here

    • His campaign staff confirmed the other day that he does NOT wear body armor at campaign events - in fact he usually appears in shirt sleeves.

    • There seem to be few THINKING people on this leftist site!!

    • Bush clearly did not look at Jim lehrer when he said "let me finish". He was speaking to Karl Rove, the most powerful (unelected) man in the world. Why don’t Dems attack. Republicans would.

    • I’ll definitely agree with you that most of the "left" got all their information from Faenheit 911 and that many’s opinion’s were formed from emotion than any sort of political/big picture understanding... However, any President that resorts to the big lie, who alienates 1/2 of America in his campaign, who is the first one to have a net loss of jobs in his administration since Hoover and tells America we’re cretaing jobs, who takes us to war without a plan to get out (something 90% of fifth graders knew was the reason you don’t invade Iraq, not because they’re somehow a worthy adversary like Russia was), who has borrowed so much money from the Social Security fund (which is like the government’s bank) that he now has to come up with some "privatizing" solution so there’s a snowball’s chance I’ll see any of the 1/4 of my salary I pay every month again, who has done nothing towards a worthwhile solution for the Health Care situation, and who’s administration let terrorists bomb the World Trade Center (it’s not like it was a shock, or we even had to wonder who did it) and yet no one gets fired, who trades civil liberties so easily for temporary fixes, and who has the most negative campaign since the 1800’s yet trumpets a higher "morality"... any president who’s done this in one administration does not get my respect. Am I wrong? Please elaborate the good that W’s done for the nation, apart from letting only one major terrorist incident occur?

Is this the end now that he’s been reelected? Of course not. We’ve had worse presidents (not many, but Pierce?). We’ll get thru this and we’ll have some lessons learned for down the road. But Republican’s have been especially aloof in recent years. Personally I think all Pub’s like the big lie. We’re not in Cambodia, Reagan was a great president, W’s a strong leader. A strong leader doesn’t divide the nation to get elected. Here’s to hoping I’m just a knee jerk who’s wrong and here’s to the next four years.

  • You don’t think Kerry’s people know about that? The whole debate was a shame, didn’t you read the memorandum? PBS Bill Moyers NOW posted it. The Dem and Rep have complete control of the debates. They make the rules and bush can have an earpiece. Your story will go no where.

    • Please point out where it says Bush can have an earpiece.

From: 2004 Memorandum of Understanding (Presidential Debates)
      http://www.pbs.org/now/politics/2004MemorandumUnderstanding.pdf

Under Staging section (9)(c)(iii): (page 24):
"Each candidate and the moderator shall have wireless lapel microphone, and an identical
microphone to be used as a backup per industry standards."

The problem the lends credence to the earpiece theory is that I thought Bush kept looking down to read something, but maybe he was listening in an earpiece. Notes were forbidden during the debate but notes could be taken. (But then, illegally attacking another sovereign nation is forbidden, too, so what the heck?)

Under Rules Applicable to All Debates section (5)(c) (page 4):
"No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be
brought into the debate by any candidate. Neither candidate may reference or cite any specific individual sitting in a debate audience at any time during a debate. If a
candidate references or cites any specific individual(s) in a debate audience, or if a candidate
uses a prop, note, or other writing or other tangible thing during a debate, the moderator must interrupt and explain that reference or citation to the specific individual(s) or the use of the prop, note, or other writing or thing violates the debate rules agreed to by that candidate."

    • I didn’t find anything in the memorandum (http://www.pbs.org/now/politics/2004MemorandumUnderstanding.pdf)
that allows bush to have an earpiece. Did I miss it?

    • well... each candidate has a backup mic. I have used a mic as a speaker before...

  • This doesnt surprise me at all ...Bush almost always reads his "speeches" and doesnt do a very good job of hiding the fact. Sometimes it seems he is reading the words for the first time....This guy is a phoney and a fraud ....

    • Like other Presidents practice their speeches before saying them. It’s so easy to bash Bush because he doesn’t have the greatest charisma but at least he stands somewhere on issues and isn’t ashamed of where he stands. Thats more than I can say for other canditates in this race.

Even though I’ve made up my mind, I’m trying to be receptive of what Kerry is saying but it’s tough when all he says is he’ll do it better. Maybe I’m not looking in the right places to find what he will do when he says it will be better.

    • if you’re not worried about a president with an earpiece to his top advisor in a supposedly open and fair debate (or at any other time for that matter) we’re in serious trouble. i wondered about this as well , particularly when bush delayed his response on several 2-minute questions for several seconds at the beginning, and will review the video i have (high res) to look for the signs of deception. btw the bushites are railing against kerry for calling "allawi" a puppet.. well, surprise surprise, who wrote his speech he delivered to congress? pretty much qualifies him as a puppet doesn’t it - and to think of it that leaves W in the same class.

    • We don’t bash Bush because he "lack charisma". We don’t like his positions.

First, he is NOT fighting the war on terror in Iraq. There were no WMDs, no connections to al Qaeda, no intention of attacking the US and as both Powell and Rice said in prior to 911, "Saddam is well contained." No matter how many times Bush repeats "Saddam was a front on the war on terror," it is still a wrong statement. At the very least, it is 10x more wrong than saying "Pakistan, with their nukes, support for al Qaeda and support for radicals, is a front on the war on terror."

Second, you should be opposed to Bush because of budget deficits. Think of the US as a family that makes $200,000 per year (actually $2 trillion). When he came to office, that ’family’ owed $600,000. He increased that tab by $160,000 in 4 short years and has committed us to increasing that debt by another $300,000 in the next ten years. This is simply irresponsible and is putting us on the brink of bankruptcy ... particularly when you consider that most people believe our ’family’ needs to add $4,000,0000 to be able to honor Social Security and Medicare for more than the next 10 years. Where is all this money going to come from? Bush is setting us up for disaster.

    • In the past when Kerry has spelled out what he will do, Bush immediatly starts to do it ( even though he’s had four years to start) and then pulls the rug out from under kerry by saying , ’well the idiot, we’re already doing that". So Kerry speaks in only general terms about it. Notice NOW after the debates, US is trying to take falluga and that other city, because bush was so embarrassed by losing complete control of Iraq? My point exactly.
To spell it out for Bush to copy would be helping bush get elected by stealing Kerry’s idea’s to win the war. Who do you trust???...yeah I know evryone says they don’t KNOW kerry...just look at it this way. Do I trust someone who has lied repeatedly, wreaked our monetary system, got us in terrible debt, started one war, has plans for a couple more...cut taxes for the wealthy, funds for schools and welfare med insurance for children, turned our allies into enemies, brought disrespect to our armed services and america in general, increased terrorism by inciting more hatred...OR NEW MEAT?

    • Let me try to help you. I am a Republican who will be voting for Kerry this November. I am sick of watching Bush roll his eyes whenever the press poses a question. The press represents ME and I voted Bush INTO that oval office. He thinks I’m going to vote for him, Christian that I am, because he is pro-life? Some pro-life stance. He wants me to fight for fetuses and forget that our grown children are begin deployed into a war based upon deceit? When I think about what Jesus would do, I have to answer "vote for Kerry." I also think about how Bush has gotten along with the global community. Do you teach your children to go out into the neighborhood and issue ultimatums to others like, "you’re either with me or you’re against me?" Of course, not, because you aren’t trying to raise an arrogant little bully. Then, why would you vote for Bush? There is absolutely no reason to be ashamed of working within your community for the good of the world. Even if the intelligence would have been ACCURATE, President Bush was not diligent in winning other countries over. I beg you to think very carefully about who you will vote for this year. Bush thinks we need no one but ourselves. Kerry believes we must join with others to achieve a stronger stance against terrorism. The ball is in your court.

      miriammatzeder@comcast.net

    • "Maybe I’m not looking in the right places..."
Go to www.johnkerry.com, where you will find a 200+ page document you can download with specific proposals and ideas. Don’t forget—the candidates only had max. 2 minutes at a time. How much detail can you hope for!?

    • This Bush tactic doesn’t surprise me at all. This is outright CHEATING. He probably cheated in GRADE school, high school, getting into college and then claiming that he graduated from college, which could only happen if he CHEATED. He CHEATED in the 2000 election and he is CHEATING now. Bush is on a roll!

    • I still find it hard to believe that there are some people out there that can honestly say they still support this so called leader of the free world and his constant deception to the american people. Our son’s and daughters in harms way are the ones paying the ultimate price. Hopefully the majority of the american people can and will make a drastic and necessary change before it is too late for everyone.

    • I’m really sorry you don’t understand what we are talking about. The debate was not the kind of speech one practices. You want to know the issues and prepare for your responses, but this is a President relying on someone else to tell him what to say. There is something terribly wrong here.
And it’s not about Charisma. If it is we are really lost. It’s about intellect, experience, diplomacy,... all statesman qualities. It’s about caring about all American citizens, not just your rich "base." One minute Bush tells you how he stands on the issues and the next minute he is siding with big business and collecting campaign contributions by giving them the deals they want. The next issue is about the job you lost because those companies he favored went somewhere else... and you can believe him? You’re right. He’s not ashamed of where he stands... right next to big brother corporate America.

    • It’s not a matter of charisma---actually, Bush is loaded with it. And it’s not a matter of not being a good speaker, although his mangling of the English language is a national embarrassment. What ’s important is that:

      1) Bush lies. He has lied to us. He has lied to Congress.
      2) Bush doesn’t seem to KNOW a lot. Emotion is fine, but knowledge is necessary. When the President of the United States can’t think of enough to say to fill a two-minute spot, we’re in trouble.

    • This seems to be a proliferation of Kerry won the debate, and I agree,
but not to the point of voting for either one.

Neither meets the economic or foreign policy needs of this country.
Both parties have gone to great expense and overturned legal tactics
to prevent other "on the ballot" candidates from debate. I can not form a
complete or accurate decision without hearing from the Libertarian,
      Badnarik or Ralph Nader.

I choose not to have to vote for the "lessor of two evils", simply
because they choose to censor their opposition.

It has been said that the major difference between the two parties is
how they spend our taxpayer dollars.

    • My question to your question would be, "Which candidate honors our form of government enough to protect the constitution?" If we don’t like a president’s decisions once in office in the past we have had corrective checks and balances, the use of a justice system, the freedom to protest and a free press to work out the details of legislation we don’t like. Bush is dismantling the constitution, packing the courts, locking up peaceful protesters, and manipulating the media and stripping it of the likelihood of any mainstream fairness and accuracy in reporting. I can’t imagine what will be left of our rights and liberties in another four years run by him and his gang. Will Kerry choose Rove, Rice, Rumsfeld, Cheny, Halliburton, Wolfowitz etc. to run the show or will he have the smarts to do some thinking for himself? The biggest issue to us all is probably global warming. Kerry mentioned it 3 times in the debate. Bush isn’t real sure he "believes" it is happening. Personalities are nothing compared to these fundamental issues.

    • oh, there aren’t any? you know this for sure? so all those countries were lying and you’re saying all this based on.... your tremendous investigative talents? yeah, good job there bucko. since you know so much i encourage you to help find the real bad guys... you know... like OJ is doing...

    • My question to your question would be, "Which candidate honors our form of government enough to protect the constitution?" If we don’t like a president’s decisions once in office in the past we have had corrective checks and balances - yes flawed but there; the use of a justice system; the freedom to protest and a free press to work out the details of legislation we don’t like. Bush is dismantling the constitution, packing the courts, locking up peaceful protesters, and manipulating the media and stripping it of the likelihood of any mainstream fairness and accuracy in reporting.

    • Bush may not have charisma. That does nothing to explain why he has so much trouble reading from a teleprompter. He is the definition of a puppet, he either is sitting in Dick’s lap while Dick pushes the buuttons or he is also getting strings pulled by Rove while at the same time it seems that Pres Bush is listening to voices in his head.

    • You can say that again! He can’t speak/think independently for two minutes, yet he’s leading our country? Hell, my five year can speak cohesively for two minutes PLUS to get out of trouble . . .

    • You’re joking right? You’re a replubican that is going to vote Kerry because you’re anti-abortion? Now that’s an interesting logic train.

You think the press represents you? Did you elect them? No? Interesting...

"grown children"? You mean adults? That’s what grown children are, by the way. And the adults that you referenced voluntarily entered the miltary, I might add. Regardless, how in the world does an adult’s decision to join the military and a President’s decision to bring the country to war (via the authorization of congress) factor into abortion?

You think Jesus would have voted for him? Do you also think Jesus approves of abortion? Last time I checked (and, yes, I have read my New Testament from beginning to end) Jesus was for the downtrodden and oppressed, not for the destruction of innocents.

The logic in your position leaves a lot to question, but it reminds me of a bumper sticker that I saw. "Jesus was a bleeding heart liberal." Yeah, so liberal that upon healing and forgiving people he didn’t say "go and do it again if you like" he said "go and SIN NO MORE".

    • Very well said. I too am a republican voting for Kerry. And take heart ,we are not alone.

    • you bet you are not alone, He has lied and embarrased me too many times. I too am a voting Republican christian who will be voting for John Kerry

    • Is it better to lie and continue on the wrong path??? Or to after understanding the true facts make a decision to change standing. We were all feed a bunch of ##%%$#^%$^ before this WAR - regarding who, why and for how long. To me it is not about charisma - its abou truth and knowledge. I just wish I could say that my President is smarter than I.

This is funny - Yet very very SAD!!!!!

    • "I choose not to vote for the lesser of two evils".....Americans need to take back their government, who could disagree???? The only way is to unelect the people who do a bad job such as Bush who is so far our worst president since Warren Harding. If you do not care that your social security money is being squandered on your very own load of bombs to drop on skinny people around the world and always squandering our resources and people for corporations like Chevron and Haliburton, then sit on your hands and watch the immoral warmonger Bush go... You think he has done a terrible job so far, giving him another 4 years could completely wreck this country, he intends to reinstate the draft and march into Iran and Syria next which could lead to nuclear (not nukular) war. But if you don’t care then maybe its good you don’t vote because you are hopeless.

    • You obviously misread his post.

    • Amazing the number of ill-informed Marxists out there, posing as American citizens.

What have you all got to be so resentful about? It’s pathetic, really.

      Vote Kerry—Vote Kommunist.

    • He may stand somewhere on the issues, but my gosh . . his stands are outrageous! He may not be ashamed of what he stands for, but I sure am. Charisma? People think he’s the guy who would sit down and have a beer with them. Well, only if it’s election time. Otherwise he wouldn’t give you the time of the day.

Bush has lied over and over again. He constantly plays the fear card. Is that a way to govern?

Kerry says he will do better. And by gosh, he has given you some ideas of what he will do. Bush has said we need to do this and we need to do that . . Well, he said that all last year and we still need to do it! Needing to do something and actually having it happen are two different things.

Kerry will allow us to continue on as a free country. Bush will slowly take away your rights.

I know someone that is a very prosperous business woman. She is not politically involved. She planned to take a vacation down in Mexico and discovers she’s on a No Fly List. She was told by the airline that she cannot leave the country and if she does, she may not be able to get back in. People say that the Bush Homeland Security laws and Patriot Act won’t hurt them because they aren’t involved in terrorism. Well, this woman sure isn’t and now she has to find a way to get her name removed from this list. Does keeping her from travelling make you safer?

I just don’t get it when people think Bush is so wonderful. Look at his record. Not what people tell you, but go look at the record of what the bills and executive orders he passed say. You may be surprised to find that many are the exact oppoaite of what you think.

Prior to the debate my friends and I thought there was the possibility of Bush wearing an earpiece. But my thought was that his brain could never keep up with what they would be telling him and he would totally screw up. OH, he did, didn’t he? LOL

    • Yes, we know this for sure. Even Bush’s own team couldn’t find anything over there. The only countries saying there were WMDs were the US and Britian. I would encourage you to do some investigation on your own and not watch so much FOX News.

    • There is a very short distance from Bush to Kerry. Both elitists are loaded with the same agenda - to bring the world to the global police/fascist state under the control of the World government and reducing the world’s population by the perpetual wars. Don’t
you see that these two parties are one party of the same. You may check it out on www.savethemales.ca , www.rbnlive.com and tons of others real alternative sources.

    • I wouldn’t dream of bashing Bush because he has no charisma but because he lacks character. You say he has the courage of his convictions (I really liked Kerry’s response on that subject during the debate indicating that Bush was standing firm but that didn’t stop him from being WRONG!) and you’re right — he stands for fear mongering. He wants you to be afraid of everyone and everything but him and that is the most dangerous threat!

I was in NY on 9/11 and it was a devastating event in our national history but Bush had it in for Sadam long before 9/11 . We’ve seen and heard enough to know that we went after the wrong person. Sadam didn’t attack America. Wake up — the only smoking gun was in the hand of American soldiers, sent into harms way so that this cowboy could play war.

    • Actually, a democrat wanted to bring back the draft, but Bush IS the one who took us to war. Bush has said that he doesn’t want the draft, probably because this bill was supposed to include the rich in the draft, too. Heh

      http://www.cnn.com/2003/...

But it’s not going to happen anyway, so I wouldn’t worry about it.

I don’t like Bush or Kerry, but I’d vote for Kerry. We haven’t had the best set of candidates lately...

    • How about you join the military and fight in Iraq.

    • I think President Bush had strong charisma. Like a warm charmer cowboy. But he is not a great orator. Also, I think he is a good man. I also know his last name is Bush and he is Geo. & Barbara’s son, whereas Kerry is not really a Kerry. His name is Kohn.

    • A fouth grader could do better why do you need to go find someone to validate that for you? Do you actually think Bush the moron is presidential? And he has had four years to prove that he is a joke.

    • OMG Finally a voice of sanity in an insane world

Please bottle it and sell it to all the uber conservatives on bloggersforbush and the rest of the lot
      Nice post; I agree wholeheartedly

If you are looking for a GREAT READ on the ethics and philosophy of this twisted president go find The President of Good and Evil by Peter Singer; a 200 page read that will justify your choice

    • I’m not worried. He has his entire administration to look to. A great leader surrounds himself with capable people.

    • Wake up , Bush will have the draft and
no one be able to get deferred, young men and women will be called June 5 2005
as Bush and Isarel are planning on hitting Iran

So wake up and read what is going on,
Bush is not going to save you. He is not God .

He reminds me of Jim Jones he lead the people to their death.

  • the green light was on when he made that gaffe- your point is still valid; he had plenty of time left to respond and there was no indication of anybody attempting to interrupt him, but to be factually correct in your assertion, it would be helpful to be as clear as possible about where in his answer he goofed. we who oppose this regime have learned to be as specific as possible, to dot our i’s and cross our t’s as it were, because the undotted i and the uncrossed t gives karl rove a loophole through which to escape the larger assertion. this incident sticks in my head, because at the time of it’s occurence, i Definitely caught it, but immediately dismissed it as W trying to give the impression of resoluteness and sincerity, as when he referred to the moderator by name in multiple answers, jim this and that, jim. whereas kerry stuck to speaking to We the People. But at the moment he goofed, i Did look at the lights and noticed only the green one lit, which made his "Now, let me finish" look slightly off, but i chalked that off to W being rattled so hard he regularly burned up half his 30 second responses with nothing more than the sound of his jaw waving at his tie. if Rove Was realtime in Bush’s ear, then why wasn’t there a better debate? Why would Rove allow Bush to stand there catching flies on Live TV when His brain assuredly moves quick enough to answer a fellow debater like kerry? i’ve often suspected the earpiece, but never reconciled it with how he still manages to sound so moronic so often. Couldn’t they practice in their spare time? i mean, if we’re paying so much, shouldn’t he at least Try to not resemble pinocchio at every turn in front of the camera’s unflinching eye?

    • The reason why Rove couldn’t make it a better debate for hie "puppet" Bush is that several of Kerry’s points were simply too strong for an adequate comeback - from Rove, Bush or anyone else. Example: George Bush senior went on record (in his book) saying to go into Iraq/Baghdad in 1991 would place the US in the middle of a Civil War/quagmire with little possibility of extraction without considerable US losses. What could Bush/Rove say to that except for to ignore it, which they did?

  • "Bush Blows Debate: Talks to Rove in Earpiece"

lolol, what a claim. They must have had a big sale on Tinfoil, you’re wearing quite a big pointy hat made out of it!

    Enlightiator

    • yeah!! what a load!!

      too bad it’s true.

    • "tinfoil"

still gonna use that much longer hatful bigot livin in denial. death to U... DEATh to bush and death to kerry!

      death to the USA!

    • If there’s an earpiece, Bush is toast.
If there’s no earpiece I still want to know who he was addressing.

    • Your right, what an outrageous claim. Its obvious that Bush was simply responding to the voices in his head...What else could it be????

    • as to your caution, moderator, I hope you & powerful investigayors check the post about "tinfoil" threatening death to the U.S. !!! Oh and you misspelled character.

  • Bush, Kerry, and Lehrer get their orders from the same people. Bush is paid to bring America
down and make national sovereignty look bad. So America will join the rest of the world on the path towards world government which is the goal of globalization.

    • The point of the reader is to focus on proving this point. Those out there that have the expertise should be hard at work to expose this story if it is true. All things aside, we are being distracted from the real issue, that is –is there someone in his earpiece? Let us not let the Rep machine get away with this. This is a winner in itself.

    • That’s right it is PROBABLY all a scam, although it’s not always that simple(sometimes it IS like the cia’s drug dealing or the bush family and many others profiting from insider stock info including up to 9/11 and up to this very day thru being members of corporations,or stockholders of companies making millions if not billions on iraq "reconstruction" i.e privatizing iraq and taking the spoils of war).Anyway back to the scam-not all the players know what they are part of-certainly bush may not know, although he wouldn’t care anyway cause he is a selfish son of a bitch.kerry like lehrer may have some clue, but like most of america they are all focused on their specialty(and are themselves brainwashed by the same mass media bullshit) so as not to see the big picture. What is the big picture?Have you noticed that everyone thinks the world is a very dangerous place out of control? And people think it’s more dangerous now than at any time in history?Well it’s not more dangerous, despite the claim that things like nuclear weopons make it more dangerous. If you beleive the press there are thousands of nuclear weopons unnacounted for.If a TERRORIST wanted to get one and use it they would have already,so why haven’t they done it?Because people are naturally self preserving and there is actually a natural tendency for people to be good, not bad. Why?Because clearly almost any idiot can see that destruction for destructions sake is pointless. The only motivations for violent reactions is fear or greed(usually of money of course).Everyone in the top positions in the government right now has at least one of these character flaws(greedy and afraid of others attacking them-mostly as some of you know they are mostly greedy and used their supposed faked fear to go to war in iraq). The LAW has been made into our jailer via beurocracy(see ted kennedy senator put on no fly list and it took HIM 2 weeks to get off). The mistake that people will make is they will think it’s the fault of technology, but in fact there are people behind this technology(and to make the point diebolds election machines have trouble giving a receipt, but their bank machines have no trouble!!).Technology has been the excuse and will continue to be the excuse for the taking away of what little rights you now have left in america.Just to make it clear you have a right to defend yourself under GOD and under the CONSTITUTION against tyrants who would take away those rights given to you under god(notice how all bibles give you the right to live in freedom without tyrany-this is why the "media"(which is controlled by people) has denegrated the bible via godhating, sins, murder death violence on your tv screen thus limiting your ability to beleive in god and want someone to save you from this perceived threat-who will save you? They say the government who controls what goes on tv and is now seeking to destroy all your rights to freedom-free from who? the government who by the way is who starts the wars, enables the drug trade(legal and illegal),and who is the real threat to you(yes the us government even used to work with al qaeda-are they still?).

    • I tend to agree. (Check out the links between Rev. Moon giving money to North Korea, and the former (and current) President Bush...)

      NWO- it most definitely is.

    • wow — now that comment must be sponsored by Renolyds Wrap — talk about a tinfoil conspiracy.

    • TRUE DAT............WHO CARES IF HE WAS USING AN EARPIECE...........THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS, THOSE OF US WHO OPPOSE BUSH DO SO BECAUSE HE WAGED AN IMMORAL, UNJUSTIFIED WAR ON IRAQ IN ORDER TO FURTHER SECURE THE PERSIAN GULF. BUSH LIED TO THE NATION WHEN HE WENT ON TV TELLING US THAT HUSSEIN WAS MAKING WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION. THE CIA KNEW HE WASN’T AND TOLD THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION IN A WEEK BEFORE HIS STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS. ALL OF THE LIES THAT THE ADMINISTRATION USED TO GAIN SUPPORT FOR THE WAR DO NOT HOLD UP TODAY. THE REAL REASON IS THE MONEY!!!!!! DON’T DENY IT!!!!!!!!!!!! HOWEVER, PEOPLE STILL SUPPORT HIM. THAT IS A SAD DISGRACE, AND MANY PEOPLE BE ASHAMED FOR THIS. THE PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT BUSH DO SO BECAUSE THEY CHOOSE NOT TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE POSSIBILITY THAT THE LEADERSHIP OF THE GREATEST NATION IN THE WORLD, THE USA, CAN EVEN MAKE A MISTAKE. BRAINWASHING IS A BITCH. DENIAL IS DESTRUCTION. STOP TRUTH DECAY. IN THE WORDS OF THE GREAT AFROMAN....."FUCK THE CORPORATE WORLD, BIATCH!!!!!"

    • Fuck this, BUSH FOR PREIDENT

    • The past two political campaigns have been dominated by Rove. Al Gore had a stellar reputation before Rove got ahold of him. John Kerry and McCain too. The problem is that Rove can find some tenable characterization of Bush’s opponent and expand it, repeat it, and eventually the opponent becomes that caricature. It doesn’t matter whether Bush uses an earpiece, it’s whether its possible to convince the electorate that Bush needs an earpiece to debate and then start in with something else along the same line, then go back to the earpiece again, until finally, Bush becomes the caricature. I think its only fair that this be done to Bush so we can begin to talk about the distortions and out of context quotes from Kerry in the Bush ads.

    • In all of the years I have been witness to presidential debating, I have never seen the thorough, complete destruction of one candidate by the other. That the recipient of the pouding was the incumbent president speaks volumes as to what is transpiring in this country. After watching the debate, all I could wonder was:

who in their right mind could vote for George Bush? His behavior in this arena called to mind the portrayal of Captain Queeg by Humphrey Bogart.

As for the earpiece theory, there’s only one possible explanation that we do not have an answer for: was Lehrer or Kerry making some gesture at the point at which Bush made his gaffe? If so, it was done off camera and would explain the comment, which I wondered about at the time.

No matter, the question remains, after watching that performance, could you vote for incompetence?

    • If there is anything to this story, then why have the major networks or major papers made anything of it by now?
      Fury

    • Darn it! Where have you been? The major news networks are owned and controlled mostly by conservative backers of the Bush administration. What else do you want to know? That pretty much tells the story.

    • Oh good! At least Bush is finally running for something other than president. What a relief! (Or, Mr. Bush, did you sneak that comment in yourself? How would I know? Could it be "Spelling?" Your mother told you to study your spelling list more carefully... She said some day you might need to know how to spell words accurately...) Now, about your manners...

    • Ok Alex jones. But who pays Bush and who orders him and where is the proof or documentation of this? Also, to the other poster: anyone can be president and stand for an issue. It takes character to be honest and accountable in the office of the presidency: something we may never see again and something this last president has had the least of them all.

    • No, watch the film. When I was watching it live my impression was that Bush looked to the bottom right, where his advisor was sitting...(Kerrys was to the bottom left, and Kerry made a few symbol gestures at him.) But on reviewing the film, I see that this was not the case...I assume other Americans got the same impression I did, that it was a visual cue from Rove, thus little was thought of it...But Like I say, in review, it SEEMS through realplayer he was looking strait ahead...Thus an earpeice.

    • If you really want to know why the major networks or major papers have made nothing of the story by now, then go to Nikki Finke’s article in the LA Weekly:
      http://www.laweekly.com/ink/04/45/deadline-finke.php

    • Are you an Idiot, where is your Social Security money?
are you waiting for your next tax refund...I guess you have no Children in school or at all?

He is Destroying our Country & making a laughing stock out of us...wasteing money....He is pro choice, sure he is send our kids off to War, Kill them & anyone else in your way ....some pro choice, what would Jesus do? Vote Kerry!

where is all the mass destuction at ? He is the causing Mass destruction....

and while you are at it , go borrow money from China to by a House!
He is bankrupting our whole country for what ....OIL!!!! You probable want the Patriot act to stay just the way it is too? Idiot!!! We are loosing our rights, don’t you know...before you vote you better know what you are talking aboput ....you will make a big mistake!!!

How many of our kids need to die , there is not much left he can tax us on to get us out of this 7 trillion DEBT he has caused....Forget Bush is right*!!!!!
At least his cousin is not having his ansewers feed to him by an ear Piece! He has his own mind!

Bottom line if Bush was not President , who would hire him? Maybe you would to run your company , not for long though you would go into debt!

VOTE KERRY he is the only choice we have ...Thank you *

      Cathy

    • The only part of globalization that Bush wants is the part that will put money into the pockets of Corporate America. Other than that, he has no interest in it. He is NOT interested in world government, that’s for sure! Not unless he’s the one that governs.

    • Cathy, Kerry is not a solution. These two parties are one of the same. People are awaikening now and looking for the solution up on the third party. This year mass-media done it’s dirty work of manipulating people’s minds into selecting Kerry for the only choice who can beat bush. Unfortunately, this year conscious shift may not occur, but people are thirsty for the truthful information of what is really going on behind the stage of political theater. You can’t find it on the "free" US media, you can’t find it on the official alternative media either. But thanks to the internet, you will get it there. There are a lot of REAL alternative sources whose agenda to bring the TRUTH to the people, who don’t sell themselves to the world’s bankers as it did official alternative media. Look the chart on www.leftgatekeepers.org (or com), check out sites www.savethemales.ca , listen to www.rbnlive.com ... If you would like to learn how the world really works and to contact to somebody to talk about this, please feel free to send email to: Polaekz@aol.com .

    • Rove doesn’t need tenable characterizations. He conducts whispering campaigns to further his candidates interests. Truth is not a necessity for his purposes.

  • other people have said that during the debates that bush kept looking off stage or into the audience as if seeking answers....

the waiting to get his info on the earpiece would explain --- what i think is t he moment hi spolitical careeer ended --- the moment where he screams and pleads to respond and Jim says ok Mr president and then momkey boy just stands there, mouth opne like he forgot where he was.

i think an earpiece would also explain much of monkey boy’s incohorency and syntax probloems --- repeating what he is hearing or thinks he has heard without really digesting it.

there is a reason rove never lets monkey boy out in public and only does perfect staged events.

Tom Joyner thinks one of monkey boys problems was because there where no applause and cheers after he spouted some of his tired hollow lines and he actually had to fill that time as well.

  • As a professional photographer I observed the following:

Kerry got the red "power tie"

The camera framing on Kerry made him appear taller and stronger.

Bush was shot with an anamorphic lens which made him appear smaller, the framing of the shot included a lot more of the podium. He looked diminished.

The shots of Bush’s back (perfectly lit for the reveal) showed that he was wired. His answers reflected the fact that he was listening to prompts. The stumbles and seeming misstatements were stalling for time as the answers were being fed to him.

ABC and CBS ran virtually the same post debate analysis. They were talking from the same script.

More than the just the debate was scripted.

    • Bushes podium looked bigger because he’s flat out shorter than Kerry, but they wanted to put his head at the same level...they went to great pains to do so.
Yeah, why did Kerry get the red tie? I thought dems were the "blue states"...

    • Interesting observation, but with explanation: according to the rules agreed to by both candidates, neither was allowed to use any platform or other device to make himself look taller. Kerry is significantly taller than Bush, though. Apparently in an effort to "equalize" the appearance, the camera on Bush focused in more closely so that both men took up roughly the same space in their respective frames. I see no conspiracy here - Bush naturally looks like an idiot because he is one.

  • I think he was talking to the voices in his head!

  • bush sucks and all...but i’m pretty sure he was talking to Jim Leher.

  • Somebody would have told him to stand up and not look stupid.

    I do not believe it!

  • Amazing!

I made the observation that the pacing in Bush’s talk and responses was uneven and unbalanced in terms of substantive comments.....there would be nothing but old rhetoric, accompanied by all sorts of awkward phrasings and expressions, followed by a pretty solid and confident commentary.

I asked about whether the participants wore ear pieces - was told ’absolutely not.’

  • Actually, Bush "blew it" last summer in France on live TV broadcasted on CNN. His buddy, Chirac somehow had a mic on Bush AND whoever it is that speaks to him. You could hear "rove"? say a sentence then Bush repeat it exactly the same way...word for word. He just continued on thru it, but when it was over, he acted very paranoid looking all around. Like he was wondering what was to come next. Cherac had a VERY HUGE smile, winked and nodded as they left. It was a beautiful sight! Later that week at the G8 summit...it was said they agreed to keep their differences private. Sorry you all missed it. I live for moments like that! Remember the Dem’s National convention and the balloons didn’t drop...the guy was going berserk, broadcasting to the whole floor....."where’s my balloon’s, I need balloons, Now! get me F!@#$%^ N balloons! he later said a switch that was suppose to be in off position got turned on somehow....a little trick the Republican’s learned in France!

    • Um, actually, that was Stephen Colbert from Comedy Central’s "Daily Show" with Jon Stewart. I really enjoy the show and everything, but have long been wondering how many people think they are actually getting news from it... Boy, are we as a society in trouble.

    • Thanx Man, merci bien, Mec!

Continue to vote Mr.Bush and be proud of the "good" job your troops are doing in Irak, especially with the civilians...
Putain, comment peut-on etre aussi aveugle...
(Fuck, how can you be such a blind...)

Love from France to all Americans

      A french guy

    • I guess you like China better? That’s where the republican cooperate bosses make all their money, besides Iraq. I guess it’s better to trade with the commies than an old friend in France

    • Despite what the NASCAR dads say on corporate t.v....Americans including myself like the French and want to have a good relationship with all people around the earth. Our differences in our cultures make us humans that much more interesting. Hating a whole culture because it is the manly thing to do is to display one’s ignorance and to make world peace and sharing of the planet that much further off which means we will hurt everyone on the planet in order to feel superior. Message: Let’s cut our noses off to spite our faces......

    • i am an american living in london and i, too, am dumbfounded. how can at least half of the american population be so blind? the bush adminsistration are DOCUMENTED liars, criminals, AND incompetant ON TOP OF IT. there are reams of published EVIDENCE of their deceit and yet it is generally ignored or glossed over by the majority of the public. i just cannot understand it. bush should be IMPEACHED, and he actually might, in fact, get RE-ELECTED. ????????????????

  • The infamous ’7 minute gap’ on 9/11 now begins to make some sense! Guess what was happening!

  • I don’t think it was Rove- I think it was Cheney. After all, Bush could not testify to the 911 committee without him.

  • He needed the earpiece because he was drunk off his a**, no doubt. He did alright for the first half hour and then he started getting mean and impatient. I bet he’s a real a**hole when he is drunk....poor laura....and barney!

  • Hey Friends,
Doesn’t anyone recall how he has a "facial cyst" removed very early in his presidency. It would not be hard to insert a receiver in there - it *was* quite close to his ear. Such an insertion would explain the long gaps in between words - he’s waiting for the dictation from his handlers.

  • If Kerry made something of it, the media would rush to Bush’s
defense, and attempt to make Kerry look bad. Why isn’t the
media picking it up. And why is CBS refusing to release the
60 minute segment showing Bush in a bad light before the
    election

I have heard two excuses first, they made a mistake because some
of the documents they used about Bush’s record were copies
and although they are no doubt the truth CBS is still
embarrassed and so will not take the chance of disappointing
Bush again. Second ViaCom owns them and they do not want to
take a chance that Bush would lose. I guess it is that big
tax break he gave corporations and the very wealthy!

  • Bush paused, Lehrer evidently moved, Bush saw the motion, Bush indicated he was not done. Rove IS a problem, but this is just silliness. Have fun with it!

  • I noticed the same thing... it was very obvious he had an earpiece and that he was "communicating" with someone and they were telling him what to say in the beginning... but as the debate continued he seemed to have decided to ignore "the voice in his head" and basically just repeated the same old lines over and over...

  • A lot of people saw irritation — I saw a guy dying for a shot of bourbon and branch water.

Is he drinking again, do you suppose?

  • All of these characters on TV with wires in their heads, remind me of the Telephone Receptionist at Bell Headquarters in "Our Man Flint". As to what Machavelian minds whisper the next move into retarded beings onstage...perhaps this next website holds a clue;............

    http://joevialls.altermedia.info/myahudi/antichrist2.html

As Kitty Kelly observed on National TV..."The Bush Family has NO intention of losing control of the Whitehouse".
Beware America, and plan an exit strategy of your own, before they seal the borders shut and go door-to-door, collecting your guns and ID cards.

  • He’s used an cochelar inner-ear implant since before the first "election", because the man CAN’T READ A WORD OF ENGLISH. All his teleprompter gazing is studied and completely fake. Most of the lapses and the confusion stem from the fact that often it’s not just a voice in his head, but a committee. At varying times Poppy Bush, Cheney, Rove, and even Rumsfeld "grab the horn", and as the debate descended into chaos, they probably all were yelling at him at one point. Another clue has been certain distinctively different vocabulary words favored by Cheney and Rumsfeld, and at times Bush even matches their speaking cadence as he repeats.

The man MIGHT be intellectually capable of "grabbing the big picture", but when the heat is on and with everyone telling him what to say, he becomes a brainless antention-deficit disordered parrot with no grasp whatsoever of the issues.

He’s your Frankenstein, GOP... deal with it.

As we, the voters will, DESPITE DIEBOLD, after you INSTALL HIM YET AGAIN.

    • Manchurian Candidate... Egads!
Sounds outrageous. But... I keep saying the Conservatives will do anything and everything to keep Bush in the White House. And I always emphasis anything! I hope life has not become that Hollywood, yet, who knows?

    • Glad someone else knew of ear pieces and implants. Jeeeeezus they sent a man to the moon (aparently) 35 years ago but everyones agog over an earpiece.

      Jerry Seinfeld

    • I am disappointed to discover Jerry Seinfeld would misspell "apparently."

  • I despise Bush, but I don’t think that saying "Let me finish" is proof that he was getting a live feed over an earpiece. I assumed that he was watching Jim Lehrer, and that Lehrer looked like he was about to interrupt him or say something. Nothing would please me more than to learn that Bush really WAS getting fed answers over an earpiece, but if all you have to go on is an assumption, not even Dan Rather is going to return your phone calls.

  • Hooray, another triumph for ZOG! If they let Nader debate he would blow both those sold-out assholes to hell.

  • I knew it!
I could not ignore the fact that Bush appeared to be listening to something, not Kerry, not the moderator. He obviously wasn’t thinking, because he seemed like he was trying to strain himself
to hear something which I suspect was a transceiver in his ear.

  • People, people! Every president in the last 35 years has used an earpiece! They are standard! You can buy the damn things in "Spy Shops". Of course, how much the President of the day uses it is a different story.

I actually believe Bush has a semi permenant implant. He is obviously mentally challenged (no pun intended) and I have noticed since day one he’s been using one...it’s quite obvious. Watch his eyes search the ceiling as he waits for a response from his handler. I’m actually more surprised that YOUR’RE surprised he uses one!

I cant remember ever noticing Clintons use of one though I’m sure he has at some stage. Clinton of course had one advantage over Bush...he could read and write.

    • All your condesension aside, I’m not surprise that "We" are surprised. We’ve been conditioned to believe the President of the United States has moral obligations to us, right up there with God and all His Saints: and he is innocent until proven guilty like what finally happened to tricky Dick Nixon.
We’re naive. That’s the reason people vote for him and continue to support him. Who our President wrong? Who, me wrong? We’re too lazy and selfish to learn we are wrong. It’s easier to be naive. Maybe if they live to be my age they will get over themselves and chose to seek truth instead of self affirmation.

    • Sorry for my condesention. I forgot I was incredibly well informed. Get your head out of your asses and get rid of this man. I cant do a damn thing cept vote in "Mark Latham" Oz’s new P.M! Quote, "John Howard and his cabinet are nothing but a conga line of arse lickers". End quote regarding John and his love of Bush.

  • Both Bush and Kerry were wearing wireless microphones. That explains the box seen on Bush. There were no back shots of Kerry, but if there were such a camera angle would probably have revealed a similar bulge. However, that doesn’t mean Bush wasn’t wearing an earpiece too small to detect. Modern technology could easily produce an earpiece and transmitter that was undetectable. I listened to a replay of the relevant portion of the ’debate’ twice and there is obviously no apparent reason why Bush would interupt himself as he did. If only this story could get legs.

  • I’m not convinced that the "let me finish" was due to an earpiece. He did appear to look right at Jim Lehrer when he said it, and I’ve noticed him use this same phrase on several other occassions where no one was attempting to interrupt him. He seems to use the phrase as a kind of habitual preemptive strike, as if to say "I know I’m not giving you a good answer, and you’re about to put me on the spot, so I’ll pretend you’re trying to interrupt me to keep you from getting a word in edgewise, and hopefully make you appear rude in the process."

There is also a plausible alternative explanation for those strange several second mute delays from Bush: it was just stress keeping his sputtering, alcohol damaged neurons from firing.

    • Lehrer knew there was a 90 second window, he wouldn’t have done anything. Lehrer was situated to bushes bottom left. Bushes people were to his bottom right, which is more where he looked. Kerry’s people were to Kerry’s bottom left, and he actually made hand gestures at them when he thought the camera was off him.
It all really makes me wish I had a tape of it...The realplayer clip is not revealing enough.

  • I’ve just read ALL of the responses.

I CANNOT believe what a little fuss this has caused.

I REPEAT...EAR PIECES ARE STANDARD FOR PRESIDENTS.

What is not normal is Bush’s constant use of them.

Although it is normal when you are an illiterate fool.

What is also not normal is that an illiterate fool could possibly be elected by ANYONE into the most powerful position on the planet. I live in Australia. All here in this country were in shock when this buffoon was apparently elected...we thought it was the 1st of April.

    Regards,

    Perth, W.A

    • Perth Boy,
No offense, since I’m no fan of Bush, but do you really have a leg to stand on with Howard as your Prime Minister kissing Bush’s butt?

    • Well our Primeminister is pretty short and kissing your Presidents butt would be easy. Still, ours can read and write and even utter coherent sentences. I’m sorry American friends...you get the President you deserve...Bush actually represents the American psyche far more accurately than Clinton who in fact with all the head jobs he got was more closely aligned to the Oz psyche. Good luck. Enjoy the nuclear, northern hemisphere winter.

Ciao...the stained dress said it all. Anally retentive...need I say more.

      P.S Jerry Springer rocks.

    • Howard is busy kissing Kerry’s sister’s butt now...I wonder which one he likes better...

    • Not to worry. Soon he will be gone! Replaced by Mark "Brawler" Latham.
"The P.M and his cabinet are a conga line of arse lickers". NOW THATS A POLITITION!.

    • Good on ya....we will be watching as Austrailians go forward and oust the Butt Kisser. An American fellow citizen of the world.

    • LOL
I would have to agree that Americans will get the President they deserve.
As a Canadian we were much better off with Clinton as a nieghbour than Bush.
Let me see they won’t impeach Bush for war crimes but Clinton gets the shaft for a blowjob??

      Americans deserve what they get...

  • I just want to give everybody some hope in all this confusing world. There is an end to all this madness. The world system is like the Frankenstein story. Man creates an entity to serve him, but the entity becomes his destruction. Einstein did not believe in the past or the future, just the ever present now. He likened our limited earthly understanding of time and space to a parade. If you are at ground level watching a parade , the float passing directly in view is the present. As it passes by , it becomes the past. The floats yet to pass by your ground level view , is the future. However; if one was to climb up 12 stories and look down upon the parade at hand, they would see the whole thing at once.
It is only in our meager perception of the events around us that we have this sense of uncertainty about what is happening in the world. Even the news likes to send their ticker tape info at the bottom line of your t.v. , just like a parade. We must get up high in our perspective and see the whole thing at once. It doesn’t matter who drives the car of power, it destined to go over a cliff. Not one stone from the old will be brought into the new. Idealogical hegemony would have you believe that the system works if only we had the right people in power. When has it ever worked. The heart of men is deceitfully wicked above all things, who can know it. You cannot legislate a nature change in human beings. The law makes nothing perfect , it only serves the purpose of revealing our inability to keep it. Don’t despair my fellow humans, help is on its way.
Wisdom is the guide through the imagery of mind,
Through the cosmic heart of men in speculation.
Understanding shines its light when the path is hard to find.
Truth alone is the final declaration.
Tribulation is the fire that purifies the soul,
Only that which abides the flame endures forever.
Fragmentation yearns to be reunited with the Whole.
A union that no force in hell can sever.
The value of a thing is reflected in the price,
the cost required for its redemption.
Nothing less than the full Sum will suffice.
The lost is found by Love’s perfectionl
    A Universal cry from all creation groans;
"Deliver us from this bondage of corruption."
The Law makes nothing perfect, it only stones.
Preventing entrance back into the Garden.
The heartstrings of my soul are struck with painful chords,
A symphony of travail like clouds ascending.
Take us to the place beyond the flaming sword,
Where dawns the new day that’s transcending.

    Peace.

  • To me it looked like bush paused, and the moderator was beginning to speak.
let’s not get distracted, if we stick to the important facts, bush loses.
Dan Rather was fooled, and now everyone ignores the National guard issue.

  • If you notice in the camera shots from the rear, there is a visible 5x7" patch under Bush’s coat just below his shoulder blades.

  • By the way also he mispronounced FBI Director Mueller’s name. Was it because he pronounced it the British way so no one would know that Bush was German (Boesch)? Or is he so stupid that he really doesn’t know how to pronounce Mueller’s name?

  • Well, if that is the case. need to get some geeks down to the next debate with some decent radio frequency scanner equipment and really screw with him.

Want to see some really good expressions?

    "George...this is God...."

To be honest...in my opinion, there wasn’t an earpiece. Instead, there was someone planted in the audience that was giving him hand signals. (it’s not so stupid if you remember that W was part owner of a baseball team) That would explain his distant looks, constant blinking (in order to see the handler past the lights) and pauses.

    Ed

    • One finger means give ’em the "Saddam" slider; two fingers mean throw the "weapons of mass destruction" curve ball;
three fingers mean toss the "terrorist" slider; and four fingers mean hurl the "You forgot Poland!" forkball.

  • Just a thought, especially given the comment on Bush’s ’hunching’ over the podium.

It would also be possible to send a narrow acoustic beam directly at the podium. This would have the advantage of being un-interceptible by a scanner, and wouldn’t require Bush to wear an earpiece.

(whoa, really need my tinfoil hat for this one, but we’re just speculating after all)

What about all these regulations specified for the debate? Podiums at a certain distance, height, etc. If you were setting up a narrow-beam speaker system, you’d need pretty precise positioning. And the audience was required to maintain utter silence. And Bush was ’hunched over’. Look at the position of his head when he said "Let me finish".

The only reason I even bring this up, this sci-fi conspiracy theory stuff, is that we’ve seen repeatedly how Mr. Rove is capable of pretty far-fetched stuff. And will do anything. For god’s sake, Bush couldn’t even testify off-the-record without Cheney there to hold his hand (oh, to have been a bug on the wall).

If this is the strategy, then a scanner would be useless, and you would pretty much need to be exactly in Bush’s spot to detect it. Unlikely.

I have to admit I’m in the camp that says Bush was getting cues. This would be the way that I’d do it if I wanted to set such a thing up.

    • I will skip the politics and go right to the technical side.

      1) Both debaters were wearing standard stage microphones. The cheap ones transmit on publicly known frequencies. I have no doubt that they were using the good ones, which are spread-spectrum types that are much more of a pain to hack. Bigger battery packs because it’s a stronger signal. Note that they ahd backup wired mikes, which they would have gone to in the face of any attempt at jamming, spoofing, etc . . . while the TechInt SS people went looking with RF signal strength meters in one hand and an ASP baton in the other.

      2) Kerry was allowed to bring notepaper for notes. It would be interesting to see if the sheet was blank. By the rules of the debate, it should have been. Bush didn’t bother to take notes. Which is odd. You’d think that in the most important political debate of your career, you’d take notes. A sign that someone else may have been doing it for him.

      3) The President always wears a bulletproof vest and an alert monitor in public. The latter would indeed fit into the right ear and be flesh-shaped. If our friends at the SS were paying even minor attention to security (which is kind of THEIR JOB), the alert monitor would not only be on an obscure frequency with extraordinary encryption, but it would also be a two-way link set up to avoid variable signal strengths and traffic analysis. There’s no point to having a private channel to the President if other people can figure out you’re using it from a distance. The tactical use of this is for some alert spotter to say "Gun!" on the tac net, and the handler to say "Duck!" (or some other code word) so the President can get behind that armored podium.

Could this channel be used for cheating on the debates? You bet. Would the Secret Service go along? Probably. Remember they are there to defend the life of the President, and really don’t care about the political end. But there would be at least five or six SS agents in the operations van who would know the truth.

Any speculation that the President would be GPS-chipped is silly. I mean, wouldn’t it be nice to track the President if he tried to escape, I mean was kidnapped by terrorists?

      4) I would not be terribly surprised if the President had a subdermal implant. I would be amazed if the subdermal implant was not used to "handle" his public appearances.

      5) I really appreciate the suggestion about the acoustic beam. This is a mature technology and would be immune to spoof as it would be wired in advance. It would explain why the debaters were restricted to their own "boxes" during the debate . . . because otherwise, Kerry could just walk over, listen, and debate Rove directly, cutting out the middle monkey.

  • Why isn’t this story on/in the Media?
Sarah Meyer, Rodmell, E. Sussex, UK

    • the reason its not in the media is because its crap, just like all the other conspiracy theories.

    • "why wasn’t this story in the media?"....The Pravda that passes for a free press in the US would never point out any mistakes or lies or flip flops or shady dealings or derelictions by Fearless Leader.

  • As others have noted. its obvious that he was talking to Lehrer. Get a clue. Nonsense like this won’t help us get him out of office.

    • I’m not sure why this discussion is going on this long without somebody asking one of those who claim to have seen the battery pack on the president’s back to come up with an image extract from the many camera views available on the web of the debate. Come on, you guys!

Show me an image of the hump, bump or protrusion. Now. Stop screwing around. There’s no story until a good pic is up there. Once it is there, even Drudge will have to put it on the web.

      Flip

    • No he was NOT talking to Lehrer... He was talking to anybody but. Did you watch it? Did you notice that he looks to the bottom right when he talks to Lehrer? (his bottom left, I’ve said the opposite on accident here.) Watch the clip above from 39 minutes. He looks to his right when he speaks to Lehrer. Go to 108-109 minutes to see this EXACTLY. He was basically looking at the camera when he had his screw up.

  • i can understand hating Bush. But what i don’ understand is this crazy conspriracy theory thing that everyone seems to have after moor’s 911 movie. hating bush is becoming pop culture. everyone tries to think of the new cunning strategy bush has, he isnt the smartest guy and im sure hat most democrats would be the first to point that out as a reason for his :let me finish: comment, but most democrats are too engulfed in the conspiracy thing to even realize. And yes im sure all of you saw parts of his receiver. The president of the US with all the technology in front of him uses something you could see. Good call there guys. You sound really smart. WHY ISNT THE STORY ON THE NEWS?!?!? is a common post, but really who are u kidding. This is the kind of stuff that is talked about only between democrats becasue if you said it to anyone with half a brain you would feel about as dumb as Bush. Also, the comments about him having someting implanted near his ear are really intelligent. I bet it took a long time to think of that as an even better conspiraxy than the earpiece alone

    • "i can understand hating Bush. But what i don’ understand is this crazy conspriracy theory thing that everyone seems to have after moor’s 911 movie."

Just because you didn’t start paying attention until Moore figured out how to make a buck off of your ignorance, doesn’t mean that everyone in this country couldn’t smell a rat from the getgo.

    • Actually — you’re probably right, it would have been more accurate to say that he had something implanted near his ASS — that would be his head, of course.

  • Be very careful!

Like the CBS memos, this may be a deliberate Rove distraction to move the discussion away from the substance of the debate to a side issue which at this point in time would be impossible to prove.

If it is true, at least for the remaining debates, Resident Bush will have to go it alone.

Unless absolute proof is available do not take this issue too far.

    • If you were watching CSPAN, you would see that Lehrer was about to interrupt Bush when he said "let me finish". As for the election, Bush will win it because Kerry has no plan for the Iraq war, he only says "I can do better"...what kind of answer is that? I am a Howard Dean supporter and I still feel we nominated the wrong candidate. Dean would have been a better opponent for Bush since Dean never "flip flops" on any issues. Im in North Carolina, home of Senator John Edwards, where Edwards is nothing but a joke. Edwards missed 84% of his votes because he was using his office as a stepping stone for the presidency. The only bad thing about Edwards losing is he will come back to NC since he bought a ranch near Siler City. Im voting for Bush---the devil you know is better than the devil you dont know. Maybe Dean will run again in ’08.

    • there’s no need to ’vote’ for bush, my good friend karl tells me the election is already in the bag. it’s like the NBA playoffs folks, there’s too much money at stake for it to be left to chance....

    • Dean now supports Kerry....and i can see a place for Dean as possibly Secreatary of State ....and Wesley Clark as Secretary of Defense...Dean raised the standards of the election...and now we need to get Bush out...our country is falling!!!!...and you can see Kerry’s plans on his website...REALISTIC PLANS...not the hyperbole of the repubs

    • Unfortunately, under the current political system, you’re damned if you do or damned if you don’t when you hit the campaign trail. Edwards is a perfectly legitimate candidate, has been a reasonably good senator, is a good choice for VP, and HAD to throw himself into the campaign to have any hope of getting elected. To vote FOR Bush because you think Edwards didn’t tend to enough business back home is pure foolishness. You think Bush and Cheney care a whit about the Tarheel State? If Kerry and Edwards are elected you can be sure they will help take care of North Carolina, so don’t be shortsighted. Sure, Kerry might not be the very best Democratic candidate the party could have nominated, but showing sour grapes because your man Dean didn’t get the nomination is a childish response. Help save the country by ousting the Republicans this time around before we all go down the tube. The Republicans have done more to ruin the economy, education, and the environment in less than four years than any government in history, and it will get far worse if they are voted in for a second term.

      Bush’s mystery bulge

Oct. 8, 2004 | Was President Bush literally channeling Karl Rove in his first debate with John Kerry? That’s the latest rumor flooding the Internet, unleashed last week in the wake of an image caught by a television camera during the Miami debate. The image shows a large solid object between Bush’s shoulder blades as he leans over the lectern and faces moderator Jim Lehrer.

The president is not known to wear a back brace, and it’s safe to say he wasn’t packing. So was the bulge under his well-tailored jacket a hidden receiver, picking up transmissions from someone offstage feeding the president answers through a hidden earpiece? Did the device explain why the normally ramrod-straight president seemed hunched over during much of the debate?

Bloggers are burning up their keyboards with speculation. Check out the president’s peculiar behavior during the debate, they say. On several occasions, the president simply stopped speaking for an uncomfortably long time and stared ahead with an odd expression on his face. Was he listening to someone helping him with his response to a question? Even weirder was the president’s strange outburst. In a peeved rejoinder to Kerry, he said, "As the politics change, his positions change. And that’s not how a commander in chief acts. I, I, uh — Let me finish — The intelligence I looked at was the same intelligence my opponent looked at." It must be said that Bush pointed toward Lehrer as he declared "Let me finish." The green warning light was lit, signaling he had 30 seconds to, well, finish.

Hot on the conspiracy trail, I tried to track down the source of the photo. None of the Bush-is-wired bloggers, however, seemed to know where the photo came from. Was it possible the bulge had been Photoshopped onto Bush’s back by a lone conspiracy buff? It turns out that all of the video of the debate was recorded and sent out by Fox News, the pool broadcaster for the event. Fox sent feeds from multiple cameras to the other networks, which did their own on-air presentations and editing.

To watch the debate again, I ventured to the Web site of the most sober network I could think of: C-SPAN. And sure enough, at minute 23 on the video of the debate, you can clearly see the bulge between the president’s shoulder blades.

Bloggers stoke the conspiracy with the claim that the Bush administration insisted on a condition that no cameras be placed behind the candidates. An official for the Commission on Presidential Debates, which set up the lecterns and microphones on the Miami stage, said the condition was indeed real, the result of negotiations by both campaigns. Yet that didn’t stop Fox from setting up cameras behind Bush and Kerry. The official said that "microphones were mounted on lecterns, and the commission put no electronic devices on the president or Senator Kerry." When asked about the bulge on Bush’s back, the official said, "I don’t know what that was."

So what was it? Jacob McKenna, a spyware expert and the owner of the Spy Store, a high-tech surveillance shop in Spokane, Wash., looked at the Bush image on his computer monitor. "There’s certainly something on his back, and it appears to be electronic," he said. McKenna said that, given its shape, the bulge could be the inductor portion of a two-way push-to-talk system. McKenna noted that such a system makes use of a tiny microchip-based earplug radio that is pushed way down into the ear canal, where it is virtually invisible. He also said a weak signal could be scrambled and be undetected by another broadcaster.

Mystery-bulge bloggers argue that the president may have begun using such technology earlier in his term. Because Bush is famously prone to malapropisms and reportedly dyslexic, which could make successful use of a teleprompter problematic, they say the president and his handlers may have turned to a technique often used by television reporters on remote stand-ups. A reporter tapes a story and, while on camera, plays it back into an earpiece, repeating lines just after hearing them, managing to sound spontaneous and error free.

Suggestions that Bush may have using this technique stem from a D-day event in France, when a CNN broadcast appeared to pick up — and broadcast to surprised viewers — the sound of another voice seemingly reading Bush his lines, after which Bush repeated them. Danny Schechter, who operates the news site MediaChannel.org, and who has been doing some investigating into the wired-Bush rumors himself, said the Bush campaign has been worried of late about others picking up their radio frequencies — notably during the Republican Convention on the day of Bush’s appearance. "They had a frequency specialist stop me and ask about the frequency of my camera," Schechter said. "The Democrats weren’t doing that at their convention."

Repeated calls to the White House and the Bush national campaign office over a period of three days, inquiring about what the president may have been wearing on his back during the debate, and whether he had used an audio device at other events, went unreturned. So far the Kerry campaign is staying clear of this story. When called for a comment, a press officer at the Democratic National Committee claimed on Tuesday that it was "the first time" they’d ever heard of the issue. A spokeswoman at the press office of Kerry headquarters refused to permit me to talk with anyone in the campaign’s research office. Several other requests for comment to the Kerry campaign’s press office went unanswered.

As for whether we really do have a Milli Vanilli president, the answer at this point has to be, God only knows.

  • I find this very interesting as the BBC showed the interview in full here in the UK and the studio cameraman panned onto his back on more than one occasion. The TV camera(s) seemed to show the shape of a box under his jacket round about the middle of his spine just about the level of his shoulder blades. I was wondering whether he was wearing some new kind of braces to hold his pants up that had a box like structure as part of their construction. Now I am inclined to wonder if you are indeed right about the ’ear piece’

    • Um, he might have had an ear peice, but Bush was obviously looking at Leher. Bush was babling on and on and got to the point where it looked like he had nothing left to say. Leher must have been making the motion to keep the debate going and Bush said he wasn’t finished yet.

    • Wireless lapel mics have battery packs. That’s why all the people on TV talk shows always have boxes on their lower backs.

    • Have you ever worn a wireless mike? I have. It connects to a box, wider and quite a bit thicker than a pack of cigarettes, which is the actual transmitter and on/off switch. This box can be clipped to your belt, or attached across your back if you don’t want it to show. If you saw something under his jacket on his back, I’m sure this is what it was.

This whole post is stupid. I remember the moment when he said "Let me finish". Bush had paused for a moment, and then saw Jim Lehrer start to go to the next question, so he said "now let me finish". That’s ALL there is to this.

NO ONE has seen ANY evidence of an "earpiece". The original poster just ASSUMED its presence because of something Bush said. How lame can you get?

    • Retards, all of you.

    • Could it be a battery pack for his microphone? I was told too much television is bad for you. So many people seem to be making election choices based on media reports, polls and commercials that it is getting ridiculous how much power given the media. American politics and politicians are in the position their in because of the indifference of the people (barely 55% turnout). When votes are selected by, who looks better, or talks better you allow them to tiviialize the substanence of their political objectives. Many dictatorships are formed thiis way. My opinion two months ago and today is Bush should lose this election big time, But it is in all media interests to make it look close so you’ll stay tuned. The election and war are the only stories. The public interest is being narrowed in the interest of ratings. While I agree this election might get an idiot out of office, I’d be much more concerned about how he got in in the first place (did Gore sigh too much) and where the US is going with either leader in the future. American media has kept much of its citizenry in a bubble and most, like Bush, haven.t got a clue what is going on outside its borders. This is a scary place for the most heavily armed place on Earth to keep its head. I’m sure we’ll be hearing about al-qaeda in space as justification for the billions needed for missile defence and am sure Kerry won’t fight the establishment on that either. There seems to be one problem with our high tech military. We still kill tons of women and children despite our smart weapons and are having a hell of a time beating " a handful of insurgents?". Americas image in the world is quickly becoming that of the class clown in the back of the room and if its president really used an earpiece I’d say its achieved that appearance.

  • What is interesting is that Bush seems to be closing his eyes when he says it. The way he mutters it like he is talking to someone right next to him, he is clearly not projecting his voice to talk to Jim Leher.

  • LIsten to the 10/2 broadcast of cloakanddagger.ca. Lenny as well as guest author said that
they noticed that Bush’ clothing had a bulge in the back similar to a CD player shape. It affected
the way his suitcoat draped over his back. Clearly it was something not in Bush’s physique. It
also appeared to Lenny that wires were behind the lapel of Bush’s coat. Now that we have evidence of Bush acccidentally speaking to his helper, the presence of some type of
transmitter and recieving device could explain the unusual shape on Bush’s back. Both
speakers independently notices this; infact, Lenny was almost afraid of bringing it up because
he thought Tarpley his guest would think it far-fetched! Lenny Bloom suggested that anyone
who views the tape will notice the anomaly in the appearance of the back of Bush’s suitcoat.

  • "If it were Kerry’s blunder, you know Bush’s team would be all over him.
If Kerry won’t do the same, one must ask- why not?"

That would be mighty un-bonesman of him.

  • Dear Americans,

In my opinion it’s most interesting that W ( and his ’voice’) had not more to say then what we all saw and heared... in that aspect I hope he did not use an earpiece,.. it would make it more severe than it allready is.

If you like news behind the news check this one too : www.informationclearinghouse.info/article6847.htm

Take your time. it is a shocking story.

  • I remember the scene and assumed someone off camera had interupted Bush If you know of someone who has a dvd of the debate you could go through it and look for possible visual clues given by Bush. Used to do this while playing partners pinocle, look for seemingly normal acts being repeated at certain times. Assuming Bush did have an earpiece, it is probable that they had a more sophisticated and/or hidden way of having Bush communicate back (if he could at all). A long shot, but to test it look at the video right after Bush got a question. Come to think about it Bush always paused to formulate answers, may be something in these moments.

  • You all know he was wearing a microphone...

Well isn’t the box your seeing what his microphone is connected to.

In your rush for a conspiracy you forgot the obvious.

  • The box is for his microphone you retards.

You look for a conspiracy and miss the obvious.

We all know he was wearing a microphone, well what was it connected to, or being amplified by???

The thing under his jacket you all saw, and assumed was an earpiece.

Hello, he was wearing a mike, thats what the box is...

  • If you watch the video, and watched the debate, when he says let me finish,
it is absolutely clear he was talking to the moderator, and actually, was coming close, within 15 seconds to the end of his alloted time. He wanted to finish, because the moderator thought he was done, and was going to give Kerry the rebuttal if Bush was done.

Go watch the video, you have to let it load, then forward to 40 minutes.
It is clear as day what happened, and completely destroys your bullshit, along
with the fact that the box you all see is the box for his microphone, which managed to disappear for all of you, and instead become a reciever for an earpiece.

Then what was his microphone connected to, or amplified by.
    You missed that one.

  • I bind this site in the Mighty name of Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I believe every President since Ford have used ear pieces. The ear piece allows the Secret Service to warn the President if some event warrants it.

Didn’t anyone see the last season of 24? I mean President Palmer was notified via his ear piece.

As long as the Kerry camp agreed to this and the channel was monitored, it should have been okay.

  • The "let me finish" was accompanied by him pointing a finger at the moderator. Mr. Bush had paused for a couple of seconds, and the moderator was preparing to ask another question.

  • you’re such a liberal whhinebag. even if your conspiracy theory is correct kerry was using note cards ANd is a goat raping fag. there, GW wins.

seriously, bush should win based soley on the fact that kerry is a ribbon chasing coulda woulda shoulda-talkin pussy.

  • Y’all have got to be kidding me. You silly liberals and your conspiracy theories. One of you posted the fact that each candidate is to have a wireless microphone. If any of you had any experience with public speaking, you would know that that is obviously what you saw underneath Bush’s suit. There was very obviously nothing in either of Bush’s ears. As for his comment, Southerners have a tendency to say things like that when speaking. You can see charles Stanley do it all the time.

While y’all are going at the candidates, how about you look at that hi-res video and notice that Kerry pulled something out of his pocket at the beginning of the debate? Someone on this forum also posted the rule that it is illegal to bring aids into the debate, especially notes. But of course, you people of the free and open minds wouldn’t want to hear anything about that...

  • "...now, let me finish..." is a rhetorical statement, similar to someone saying, "you know," and/or "in my opinion..." or anything that punctuates by use of language, a statement.

President Bush saying, "...now, let me finish," and then proceeding TO FINISH his thought, his statement, is just a way of saying, "and now, to get to my point," or, similarly, "and my point is..." and then making the point to be made.

It’s just a matter of speech, saying, in mid-expression of a thought, "...and, my point being, is that..." (and then making the point) or, as Bush said, "...now, let me finish..." and then he finished his point.

"Now, let me tell you this," and then saying something, or similar, it’s still just rhetorical speech, punctuating your publish speech with comments such as this, usually done when someone tries to compose or further compose their statement(s) to follow.

At least he didn’t say, "you know what I’m sayin’?" or, "...word around is, that..." and then finishing. WHICH ARE ALSO rhetorical statements that more urban folks use and use often and no one seems to have a problem with those.

Now, let me finish: the object showing in the back of the President of the United States’ suit coat was almost certainly an aspect of security. WHAT I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH is the object that John Kerry removed from his suit coat before his podium, and then placed it on his podium before him after "unfolding" (unopening) whatever that object was, before the debate, and then folded up again and put back into his suit coat after the debate and before he left the stage.

I also have a problem with the fact that First Lady Laura Bush was moreor less ignored by Teresa H-K when THK took the stage after the debate, and that Laura Bush then walked over with her hand out to greet THK, who looked confused, as if she really would prefer not to acknowledge Laura Bush or be seen with her. And that THK and John Kerry lingered on the stage after Bush and his family had exited. It was grandiose, and it was embarrassing. In some areas of our country, it’s called crude behavior, socially, that behavior by the Kerry’s.

But, the problem that’s worse than that was the cheating by Kerry, and that undisclosed object he removed and unfolded from his suit coat, and displayed on his podium before him throughouot the debate, and then left with. That is a clear violation of the debate rules and means, in effect, that Kerry cheated. Crude, yes, but cheating is far worse.

  • Why am I the only one not surprised? How embarrassing for us in America. If Bush is elected again, America deserves everything it gets....

  • The real question is...was Kerry using crib sheets? And if he was - should he get an earpiece instead? Listening to one of these things and then speaking is much more difficult than it looks. Witness what happened to poor Jerry Hall, also from Texas, when her attempts at television presenting led to disaster.

    http://www.drudgereport.com/dnc57.htm

  • In-freaking-credible, you guys must see an FBI or CIA agent behind every tree too. Wow, I thought I’d been on some paranoid liberal left websites in the past, but you guys move to the top. Your delusions are truly frightening to read. I’m sure some of you have also seen strong evidence that the republicans will have both Kerry and Edwards wiped out just before the election, thereby declaring that an election, for president, can’t and won’t be held. Then days before the general election all democratic candidates, in fact, all candidates in every party other than the republican party will start dying from a mysterious deadly virus, for which there is no known cure. In the end, the republican candidates will be the only ones left standing, thus the republicans take total control (except for the remaining democratic senators) of the United States. There that outta fuel your paranoid delusions for a while.

    • I hope you know that there are other parties than just the Democratic and Republican parties?
Sheesh, I swear, the more I live the more stupid people become.

  • Look closely at the video of the debates. Senator Kerry reached into his pockets and pulled something out! Could it have been crib notes? Could he have had all his answers on a cheat sheet? It sure looks like it! He had his back to the audience, and he reaches into his pocket and pulls something out and puts it in his hands. You can clearly see this in the video of the debates.

    • You Bush defenders are as insane as the rest. What answers would he have? Kerry is able to fore-tell the future in what Lehrer was going to ask and has written a 100 word response to EVERY QUESTION. Yes. That’s the news guys. Kerry now can read an index card with 2,000 words on it in 1 font, memorize the entire thing within 3 seconds and then recite it perfectly, just like it was improvised. *cough* yes...Bush doesn’t have an earpiece and Kerry has telescopic sight. Give me a break!!

Why would he need notes? Kerry knows all his positions on the subject matter. And don’t say it’s because he had to choose which opinion he was going to use. The only reason Kerry ever "flip-flopped" is because he either:
      1. learns more about a subject in order to make an educated decision about it
      2. encounters a change in the subject so that it isn’t within the same criteria
or 3. THINKS ABOUT! unlike Bush...because Bush does not have a thought process of his own.

      You guys make me sick.

  • Kerry cheated too! If you look at the video of the debates, he reaches into his pocket and pulls something out. What did he pull out? Was it a cheat sheet? Whatever it was, he hid it in his hand and then put it on his podium.

  • It is quite obvious. And I’m beside myself that the media doesn’t run with this boo boo. This man is undressing himself.

  • jesus. bush was indicating to leher because his time was running out.

    • First of all,

I hate how every single reply I read, that’s defending Bush, has to attack the others. Nobody seems to be open to the fact that there are possibilities such as Bush having a transmitter. There is no reason to bash other opinions with foul language or closed minded opinions.

My belief is that it’s entirely possible for something like this. If anyone actually read about the Bush Administration’s doings, then people would realize that this administration has been up to very disgusting, scary, and unthinkable acts, and this microphone conspiracy falls into that category.

Here’s another justification for Bush being "fed" answers: he’s not talking like a rehearsed speaker. Everyone knew that the debate was on Iraq and such, and Bush was supposedly rehearsing all the angles with Karl Rove. Am I mistaken? What person, with rehearsed knowledge, needs ten seconds to entirely clear his mind, focus on the question, and come up with a clear response? Answer: nobody. I know absolutely no one who has to speak publicly, and is able to come up with a perfect sentence without stuttering. If you are one of those people, I would personally like to meet you.

From another side, not only were his hesitations entirely way too long (which suggests he was "collecting" every single thought OR he was listening to suggestions over an earpiece) but he always spoke in phrases many times, without stuttering. If this president cannot come up with a clear concise statement by himself, who’s to say that when he does, he’s not using aid to help him.

One last statement. If you think that Bush is a great president, you are horribly mistaken, for it is not he, but his adminstration working through him. If you need proof, read a book. I wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t because then you’d be true followers of our forsaken president, for not even our great leader knows what’s current in the news.

    • "bush was indicating to leher because his time was running out."
i’ve seen this comment repeated a dozen times here- but that still doesn’t make it true.

for all you skeptical readers out there: WATCH THE VIDEO

see for yourself- he was not motioning to lehrer, the green light did just come on, but he still had 30 seconds at that point. And the way he says it.... he is not talking loud like the rest of his speaking... it’s sort of a mumble under his breath- "let me finish"

i am a level-headed logical person- and i am 99% sure that he was talking to his earpiece. don’t listen to the disinformation specialists that have nothing to offer but- ’tinfoil was on sale today’ and other stupid comments. the repub goons are worried about this goof up- hence the heavy smear campaign.

ps- re: the lump in his back- more disinfo imho. a microphone transmits the signal, so it would need a battery pack as seen in bush’s jacket. earpieces do not need large battery packs because they only receive data, a tiny battery will do. the ’lump in his back’ is not related to the earpiece, but suggested here just to discredit the story.

    • It doesn’t matter what kindda crap they come up with the fact remains that what you saw Kerry pull out of his pocket was a can of woop@ss and he opened it all over Bushy. Someone else said it may be a barf bag because he knew how Bush makes us all sick when he lies. Or he needed more paper to write down all the Bushisms that night:) Plus Bushy broke his own rule when he looked at Kerry blurted something stupid. I dont think he had an earpeice I’m sure it was just the usual voices he hears all the time (cocaine flashbacks:) )

    • Actually morons, Bush’s time was not near up, his light was still green, and Lehrer didn’t try to interupt him, nor did Kerry, as per the rules. Also, Bush had not paused , he was stammering just before he said "let me finish" stammering as if his train of thought was interupted by someone talking to/distracting him.
      Listen or watch for yourselves.

      — Demonologist

    • What a stupid thread. I want the last 20 minutes of my life back.
Aside from whether or not he wore an earpiece I am more interested in the answer he gave when Kerry reminded him that Iraq have no wmd (by govt admittance) and no links to Al-Qaeda as well as questioning why so few troops ALMOST had Osama and let him go. Seems people have forgotten about the real issue. This guy basically was after Iraq from before he even got into office - there are many government officials who met with him that would certify the fact. Bush wanted Saddam at ANY cost - 9/11 must’ve seemed like a gift for him. Now if only we can figure out how to fool the American public into thinking Iraq=Osama.......

    • No, Kerry was NOT allowed to bring notepaper to the debate. The rules of the debate specifically prohibit either candidate to bring anything to the debate.
Section 5, pages 4-5 of the binding "Memorandum of Understanding" that was negotiated and agreed upon by both political campaigns states:

"No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate.... Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium..."

    • incorrect. he had more than 15 seconds left. plus, he’s a douchebag. he was pointing at the invisible man in front of him that was telling him what to say. indicating to the world that his sense of reality is completely out of whack. recognize

  • it looks to me like he was talking to jim lehrer. he had a pause maybe jim thought he was done with his response.

  • The blog commentaries are provocative. Bush did appear to be listening to an earpiece before several of his answers, and the blog response that he looked to one side was apropos; one would look down when listening, as on the phone, and he did. However, my interest is piqued by the comments, not the facts about our government. It seems that Bush Republicans, aka "neocons, " cannot comment by using facts or documentation. Instead, they simply denegrate the opposition, make some nasty comment, engage in name-calling "you Michael Morons", display ignorance. This election seems to be a clearly defined battle, not between parties or ideologies, but between the intellectual liberal intelligencia and the academically challenged neo-adolescent right wing.

  • I don’t think he had an earpiece or was taking cues from Rovermeister — his responses were too adlepated and his face-making antics would have been nipped in the bud early on. when the pRseident tells people to "Let ME finish," it’s just another instance of him trying to BULLY everyone into submitting to his self-righteous desires of that moment. He has no class and no manners and it was all he could do on Thursday to keep his nasty temper in check. The Rove-beast would never have let him perform so poorly.

  • Bush is reacting to the moderator, off camera, who is raising his finger to interject or interrupt... which he did many times
throughout the debate to keep the candidates on track or clarify a point. If Bush had had an earpiece, you would not have seen the
monkey-boy performance you saw that night. Think about it. No, he went out there butt nekid, swaggered his way
through and it was pathetic. There’s no earpiece!

  • Depending on which network one was viewing (and how closely you were paying attention) you clearly saw that the "Let me finish" response was to a gesture from Jim Lehrer.
The President had started to elaborate on the previous question instead
of answering the one that was asked and Mr. Lehrer was advising him that
he was running out of time. Taking that out of context and trying to
manufacture a scandal is the same cheap, no class political manure that
the Democrats have been bombarding us with for over a year.

If you want to post a story about a "debate scandal" you may want to pick
up the video clip that clearly shows John Kerry pulling something out of
his pocket as he approached the podium, and apparantly unfolding a "cheat
sheet" in front of him. This was a clear violation of the rules agreed to
by both candidates which stated that they were to bring absolutely nothing
with them to the stage. The video is available all over the internet, and
has been reported in the media, although not in the major media which
functions as the Democratic party’s propaganda ministry.

  • Has this been published in any of the major newspapers? If not, it’s about time!!!

  • It is clear that America is heading where all super powers of their time in reference are heading. A colossal collapse. Whenever the people from within any super structure don’t mater how shored-up it may appear begins to speak up and the very system attempts to shut-it –up the surroundings begin to reverberate, the writings on the wall. Self disintegration, the incendiary type after all America can no longer hear itself more so listen (earpiece).

  • You people are nuts. Really. No kidding.

Did you notice the light indicating time had run out for Bush had come on seconds before. He was getting a visual indication from a production personel to end his statement. He then said "let me finish"

You people need to put the tinfoil helmets away

    • I agree. Even though I cant stand Mr. Bush (not an elected president) and think he is a horrible leader. This whole ear piece theory is nonsense. Do you all realize the risk if they actually did that. If they were found out his numbers would plummet!! I watched the debates twice and it’s just typical Bush. He was trained to pause and gather his dumb ass thoughts before he opens his mouth. That photo of his back could be anything. If they did have some type of a receiver it would be a lot smaller and hidden in a better place. COME ON PEOPLE!! Use your brains!!
Just because he is the worst (appointed) president of all time does not give us the right to spread lies. We have to vote him out of office. Trust me there are enough real reasons for us to vote him out with out making stuff up!! PLEASE VOTE KERRY NEXT MONTH!!!

  • Bush appeared nervous and unable to provide any details or substance in the debate. He hardly ever speaks in public without some sort of cues or teleprompting if any serious topic is due to be discussed. Yes, the whole process is a scripted sham to convince the public that they have just 2 choices for President - men who are part of the same royal bloodlines and secret society networks that have controlled civilization throughout recorded history. A genuine debate with unscripted, unscreened audience questions was held across from the U of Miami campus at a Holiday Inn, with Libertarian & Green Party candidates Badnarik & Cobb, featuring an intro by 1980 independent Presidential Candidate John Anderson. View this at www.freemarketnews.com or www.libertariantv.com
All the ignorant people who support Bush or Kerry will have themselves to blame for giving their consent to what is scheduled for America and the world - massive population reduction, centralization of elite power, restriction of individual rights and freedoms, and more. Those who actually support those agendas SHOULD vote for Bush or Kerry, since we should vote for candidates who are committed to the values and interests we hope to promote. If you want to know what Bush/Kerry value then see who their biggest financial supporters are and what sort of cults they participate in (Skull & Bones, Bohemian Grove, etc.)

  • Another theory: Bush was prepared to do his Perot imitation and blew it by dumping his line at a completely inappropriate point. Hey, i love the earpiece theory as much as anyone, but I suspect this is just another example of Bush doing his texas hillbilly act, his man of the people, cut through the crap, get-under-the-hood-and-fix-it routine.
People LOVED the simplicity of it all. The two-party machine (and an unfortunate choice for VP) eventually buried him, but he was big stuff there for a while. Bush has been doing Perot’s material since he ran in the primary in 2000. People buy it.

Except, as far as i remember, Perot never interrupted himself.

  • Don’t make a big deal of the "earpiece", it is a matter of security and not a matter of "cheating" as your blog implies.

Every time the President appears in public, when his security detail cannot be in his immediate vicinity they can warn him to take cover. The earpiece is merely a high tech means of warning the President when physical danger is immenant.

Don’t make something out of it that is not true!

  • Well in basic freshman logic you learn that you cannot prove a negitive (in genneral it is impractical), you cannot prove there was NOT an earpiece, anymore than Sadaam prove to the inspectors there were NOT any WMD’s in IRAQ (whairs all the reciepts from the NATO countries that sold the stuff blown up at Camaseia)

Sadaam WAS reportedly giving $35,000 U.S.(in denars? or EUROS?) to the families of successful suicide Bohmers from Palistine; Now is that not funding terrorism???

Nobody wants to talk about this cause it makes the US look like a puppet of the
Israelies (not Israelites) and makes too many start to question all the
policy influence and spying they do.

Just look at how much is donated to bothe sides of the con-gress
they bet on all the ponies (except maybe the likes of Ron Paul)

  • The reasoning behind an earpiece is the same as evidence of the Loch Ness Monster. Looking at photos and SPECULATING that there’s a battery box/receiver on his back? Look at it another way: What if he was wearing an earpiece? Would his handlers not have better concealed the box in his pockets? Wouldn’t greater evidence be something in his ear?

As for his "let me finish" comment, couldn’t it have been to Jim Lehrer? Lehrer several times during the debate interjected to try to get a concise summary of positions. The camera was not on Lehrer, but he was sitting across from GW and Kerry, so pointing ahead and saying "let me finish" seems consistent with that.

Check out Occam’s Razor. The simplest explanation is the most likely. Only after throwing out the simple solutions can you offer up something like this one.

Don’t get me wrong - I despise Bush and am voting for Kerry, but false accusations just make the accuser look ridiculous and give Bush’s supporters more ammunition for attacking Kerry (via his supporters).

    • "bush was indicating to leher because his time was running out."

    • I thought I was clear: Lehrer would jump in during a candidates comments for the purpose of clarification purposes. I did not say it had anything to do with the green light. Since there can be eye contact between GW and Lehrer, a loud "let me finish" would not have been necessary. Stop trying to justify what you wish were true. Use a scientific method for figuring out what happened.

Just because you believe that his handlers would want him to wear an earpiece does not mean he did.

  • I have long suspected that bush is using one or perhaps two earpieces when he speaks in this kind of unscripted format. It’s pretty obvious that the pauses he makes are not for him to fully articulate his point (what a joke) but to "listen" to the answer he is being given in his ear - so that he can then parrot that information to the public.. We have an insane moron running the ship of state who is both reckless and dangerous.

The arrogance and hubris of this individual is beyond the pale. It is clear that he stole the last "election," robbed the treasury, lied about a war, is responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent Americans, Iraquis and Afghani’s, is destryong the environment, has corrupted the judiciary, is killing the middle class, has taken away liberty and freedom, brought shame to our country in the eyes of the world, and has literally driven it into the ground.

The one positive thing he could do is to shoot himself and spare his wife, his children, his family and most especially the country and the world, the embarrasment of his continued existance

  • how can the strongest country on earth elect such an idiot !The huy has had very marginal schooling. certainly no University. I have heard truck drivers speak better, no offence to truck drivers !

  • I thought this all along. I have a hearing impaired friend that tilts her head that way with that same look when she is having hard time decifering what she is hearing. She says there is definitely implants that are not detectable. It was obvious to me. Maybe because I am exposed to hearing impared people?

    • I think that Duh-by has been fitted with a sub-dermal transmitter.
I’ve been hesitant about saying that out loud since my co-irker
laughed in my face the first time that I said it, but his debate
performance the other night emphasized the possibility to me. This is
      why I say so.

I worked in live theatre as a techie for five years, two of them
professionally at Equity Union shops and another at one of the best
non-profit theatres in the Midwest. I’ve observed people speaking for
hundreds, if not thousands, of hours. I know when someone is reading
a script, when they’re doing rote recitation from memory, when they’re
improvising, and when they’re being prompted.

Remember Duhbya’s Convention speech? The unfocused, faraway look in
his eyes, the irregular pauses, emphasis on inappropriate parts of
sentences. He was being prompted. He wasn’t reading off a
teleprompter, in fact I didn’t see any teleprompters on his famous "in
the round" stage. Unfortunately by the time I noticed this they
weren’t doing any more shots of the stage from far out, just
close-ups. I also didn’t see any earphones, even on his close-ups,
and I was looking for them. (Incidentally, that wasn’t ’in the round’,
which would have needed audience on all four sides. It was a ’thrust’
stage, but you can’t say "thrust" around conservatives, or they get
      dirty ideas.)

This was where Roland looked at me funny and said, "Of course there
were teleprompters." Then he laughed and called me a ’conspiracy
      theorist’.

Now remember his performance Thursday. Again the stilted, unnatural
cadence, odd pauses as his mind tried to catch up with what his ears
were feeding him. And no transmitter in his ear that I could see.

    • If Bush was using an earpiece during the debate, I hope he uses one again for St. Louis.

    • You are right. I work with an audiologist who kept saying all through the debate that he was listening to something other than Jim or Mr. Kerry and we know it wasn’t the audience as they were silent. She said he had the look of her patients when they are in the soundbooth trying very hard to hear what is being said in their headset.

Another thing that has struck me is the difference between his speeches when he was Gov of Tx - he was able to speak complete sentences back then — but ever since Karl Rove has gotten into his head he has such a clipped hesitating way of speaking — wonder why?????

  • Are you an IDIOT? The light came on!!! Right before he says that!!

  • Hey I am no Bush supporter, but if you watch the tape the green light goes on, then he turns and sees it and says "let me finish". He probably was frazzled and assumed the green light meant he had to stop.

Why dont we focus on his policies and getting people out to vote instead of this petty b.s?

  • I knew he would blow it sooner or later. I’m glad it happened now and will give people a chance to rethink their voting plans if they have been dead set on voting for Bush. This shows the level of leadership we have been dealing with for the last three plus years. No more!

The ’globalist’ New World Odor laughs at U.S. when we argue about the 2 horses they tell us to choose from. BOTH of these CLOWNS are Skull and Bones SATANISTs from Yale. Kerry is Bush’s 3rd cousin and both are FLAMING ZIONISTS HELL BENT on murdering our kids for SATANIC TALMUDic causes! See: http://www.jewsagainstzionism.com and http://www.realnews247.com

I shall PROUDLY vote for NEITHER!!

  • Actually, I feel somehwat better. I’ve long suspected Bush was listening only to voices iin his head. At least now we know there is a person at the other end!

  • That just goes to show you what an idiot g-dubya is. He can’t even debate Kerry without his bootlickers present. Is this the man we want in control of our sons and daughters? I will not like to see his finger on THE button.

  • You have no proof. The democratic monitors with scanners did not pick up anything. Perhaps you are just bias.

  • I enjoyed yhe 2 October 2004 piece on Bush’s earpiece and "General" Rove.
it may unfortunately take a long time before we have convincing evidence for an earpiece used by the frustrated debater. Please read a short article by Sidney Blumenthal "Retreat into a Sustitute Reality" 2October, Guardian/UK easily available via "commondreams.org. Blumenthal indicates that "let me finish" is a phrase Bush "occasionally deploys to great effect before the cowed White House press corps". White House press corps bodies would never interrupt the president - his phrase is therefore at least before the press corps not likely to be a response to any form of interruption. Reinhold Hinz

  • fool, there is also evidence that kerry cheated. Kerry walked up to the stand and pulled out paper from his jacket, and asshole since you want to bring bush down you’d have ot take kerry down too, fine with me. I don’t like either.

    (d) Notwithstanding subparagraph 5(c), the candidates may take notes during the debate on the size, color and type of paper each side prefers. Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium, table or other structure to be used by the candidate in that debate.

Now there are pictures showing kerry reaching into his breast pocket with his back turned to the audience, now there is no good camera angle so there is no solitary evidence, just like your theory, and yes. It is a theory not fact. Did kerry have a cheatsheet? I don’t know, did bush have an earpiece, maybe. I wouldnt put it behind either of them.

  • To me it appeared that he was unsure of himself and searching for his answers. If, indeed, there was an earpeace, it may be that he was waiting for the answers to be given - and to digest them - before speaking.

And if, indeed, he needs to listen to what he is told over an earpiece in a debate, one seriously needs to question his ability to make decisions in other, far more serious matters.

  • Yeah! Its an ear piece alright!

This is how he has been getting along all this time. Finally he has been caught red handed.

I hope someone will reveal who is at the other end of the microphone!

    The Emperor is indeed naked!

  • Bush lost the first debate on home court(him being the current resident of the white house), and likely with an earpiece. It would follow that he is doomed to lose the next two debates as well. We can imagine that his gang is in a state of panic. Look for an october surprise and a very dirty election day.

  • I listened to the debate the other night by radio, so I missed all the goodies. There was one point that night where Bush was supposedly talking about visiting with the lady whose soldier husband had died, and he prayed with her. But his voice did not seem to correspond with a heavy topic such as that. Someone told me that he was "all teary-eyed", but I kinda thought he sounded like he muffed up and started laughing or acting out of "character" (poor choice of words for this one).

I don’t like Kerry either, as they are both Skull & Bones. I think that they ALL rehearse this stuff and they know the questions ahead of time. All this propaganda and WE AMERICANS BELIEVE IT!

I really missed all the good stuff tho. Darn! CAN ANYONE TELL ME THEIR TAKE ON BUSH’S FACIAL EXPRESSIONS THAT NIGHT WHEN HE SPOKE OF "PRAYING WITH HER". (oh brother!)

    • everybody sees what they want to see. Republicans are blind to see any individuality in Kerry and Democrats are blind to see individuality in Bush. People who care about this country find it hard to believe that either of them have any views. I really think an objective person, which is a rare thing, TRULY rare, and everyone thinks they are one, would see that these crafted personas and whored out minds that these politicians represent are only shells of human beings. Bush is a person and Kerry is a person but what you see in them is not who they are. It should be required that our politicians dont work to deceive us but this is not the case. The facts are that both of them have families that have supported and believed in radically unamerican ideals. Bush and Kerry are both familally tied to illegal drug trade, they both belong to families which take part in bizarre human mock or real sacrifices, Bushes family funded and supported the Nazis and Kerry’s Father is quoted as writing in his book that human rights shouldnt be applied to the third world!? These two families each own their own island and would be sitting in the house of lords if they were born in britain. They are related. They went to school in the same college, were inducted into the same disgusting fraternity of death. This situation does not look good for America and Kerry is no cure. Let that frustration sink in because it is all too real. Stop and think. You really have no choice. Dont believe in free trade? You have no choice. Dont believe in abortion? Both candidates support abortion to different degrees. And you guys trust a politician at his word saying he is a Christian? We are now facing a CIA dictatorship here in America. The question is... What do we do next?

    • "There was one point that night where Bush was supposedly talking about visiting with the lady whose soldier husband had died, and he prayed with her. But his voice did not seem to correspond with a heavy topic such as that."

I taped the debate, and the question you are referring to was "War in Iraq worth the cost of American lives?"
Bush said that he met Missy Johnson whose husband got killed in Iraq, and the he "prayed with and laughed some" with her. He did not seem teary-eyed at all.
This happened just a few minutes after his weird "let me finish" gaffe.

  • Unfortunately the link you provided to listen to the debate did not work.

  • I WAS ON THE PHONE TODAY WITH A NEIGHBOR VACATIONING IN ROME. SHE IS RETURNIG IN TWO DAYS. SHE SAID THAT THIS WAS BIG NEWS THERE. WHY IS IT NOT IS THE NEWS HERE???? AL FRANKEN MUST BE RIGHT ABOUT OUR MEDIA.

  • Lies, lies and more lies. However, what is new. That is the only way you can win.

  • Doesn’t this sound a little like the "D-day" incident? You remember, the one before Ronald Reagan died? Maybe I’m crazy, but this administration kind of repeats itself.

  • You can bash Bush all you want, but I cannot believe this country could elect a traitor to his country like Kerry. When you mock the Marines at Iwo Jima, turn the flag upside down, and talk with the Viet Cong in Paris. You must hate Bush pretty bad to support that.

    • I agree, this is petty. Start organizing and stop posting. My guess is GW was just trying to remember all the lines he had been fed during his debate preparations, same difference if you ask me (vs. earpiece).

At least for the french press conference linked above, here’s my interpretation:

      http://www.canofun.com/blog/videos/ BushAndTheOddSync.wmv

First, of course everything from politicians is scripted, and has been for... centuries? Second, at a press conference you make a press statement, which is of course scripted. And this script, perhaps even a press release(!), is likely given to the interpreters before the press conference, to aid their translation and timing.

And the CNN person or camera person’s audio or whatever audio lines got crossed, and we hear the translator translating GW’s press statement live as Bush talks to the cameras. It’s likely that they intentionally had the translation audio feed connected to the camera feed, to get english translations of what the french journalists or whoever were saying.

GW doesn’t appear to be answering a journalist’s question, it’s his opening statement, in my opinion.

This is no bombshell, but they’re falling while you type...

    • If he was wearing an earpiece, there must have been a 5 year old feeding him answers because he sounded like an idiot. I’m sure his public speaking class contributed to his C average.
Notable quotes of the evening: "Um.." "Its hard work" and my favorite- ".................."

  • Unfortunately I had to work during the debates and had to listen on radio broadcasts. Is there any video footage that takes in both of his ears (according to most carriactures it shouldnt be too hard!)? I know that Bush is hardly the most (ahem!) eloquent of speakers but this is just too unbelievable. To try and decieve the American people? Surely not! Why, he has never done anything like this before!!!
Why have the Dems not screamed bloody murder? Lets bust this one wide open and prove for once and for all that this president has no clothes on....

  • YOU GUYS ARE SO DESPERATE!!!! ITS ALMOST FUNNY EXCEPT THAT SOME PEOPLE ACTUALLY TAKE YOU SERIOUSLY. WORRY ABOUT THE ISSUES AND LETS GET ON WITH THE RACE. DEFORMING ONE’S CHARACTER IS GETTING WAY DOWN INTO THE GUTTER SIDE OF POLITICS WHICH IS WHY WE HAVE BECOME SO POLARIZED. GO BUSH/CHENEY!!!!!!!HAHAHA

  • I just got this in email:

Amazing! In addition to the now famous "back bulge" seen in the first
debate, there is solid evidence that Bush has used radio control in
earlier public speaking engagement: The "voice" was picked up by on a
CNN broadcast of a Bush speech. The video is available.

My fantasy, in the next debate Kerry wears a radio transmitter that
    garbles Dubya’s radio signal. Sweet...

[The story below has pix and video links]

    http://www.cannonfire.blogspot.com/
    Busted!

The evidence clearly indicates that W used an earpiece during the
debate and on other occasions. The pictures above appeared separately
on other sites (notably here and here) but the comparison proves quite
    telling.

Click on the images to see larger versions. (My ladyfriend felt
relieved to learn that she was not seeing things when she spotted that
    telltale dorsal bulge!)

Such a unit is composed of two pieces. The "earpiece" is either lodged
deep within the ear or (as current technology permits) placed next to
a molar. The within-the-ear version is very difficult to see unless
one knows what to look for.

The receiver is a much larger device, and is usually worn in front.
However, Bush had to wear a standard television microphone plus a
backup mic during the debate, and these are usually fitted by network
technicians over the chest. The only way to hide the receiver was to
    affix it to the back.

You say you want more proof? Fair enough. Here’s the capper:

Go here and you’ll hear the CNN feed from Bush at the D-Day memorial.
The microphones accidentally picked up the signal transmitted into
Bush’s earpiece. You can plainly hear a phantom voice feeding Bush his
lines. (Note: On some systems, you may have to right-click the link
    and save the file.)

This video was not doctored; many viewers heard the voice during the
live broadcast. See, for example, this testimony.

So...you still think that this is just another conspiracy theory?

    Additional notes:

    1. This piece outlines a truly high-tech approach. The only problem:
How to bring such a device covertly into the debate hall.

    2. Right-wing bloggers have ignored this issue, concentrating on
Kerry’s use of (gasp! shudder!) a pen during the debate. Conservatives
would have us believe that Kerry "cheated" because he jotted down a
couple of notes while Bush spoke. Unfortunately, the same video which
proves Kerry’s use of a "concealed weapon" also shows Bush unfolding a
crib sheet and placing it on the podium.

    3. Many have asked: If the President received electronic coaching, why
didn’t he convey his message more effectivey? I suspect that use of
this system requires more "hard work" than most imagine. Newscasters
must learn to speak while a director relays instructions into an
earpiece, and this is a difficult to art to master, for both the
on-camera talent and the behind-the-scenes coach. That’s why the use
of an earpiece may actually have hurt Bush’s performance. In my view,
he did much better against Gore.

  • Cathy, Kerry is not the solution to our government mess....but he is the first step in getting rid of the worst president this country has ever had.

  • That’s the most bullcrap remark I’ve ever heard! I can’t believe that someone would even think of using this tabloid website as a source of truth! Maybe you guys are the only smart ones in the media right? I suppose CBS and ABC and FOXNEWS - I suppose they’re all idiots for not picking up on this. Give me a break! Write about something that makes sense for once - If you would actually watch the debate there is no possible way that when the questions that were directed at Bush that Rove or anyone else could deliver a super fast response like that - NO ONE had the questions beforehand. You guys are full of it!

    • Watched David Letterman 2 nights ago he had Bill O’Reily on. Bill said the reason Bush did so lousey in the debate with Kerry was "Because he was tired", can you believe that the news media has to go around on the talk shows and make official excuses for our President like he was "tired"...why did he just say the dog eat my homework and be done with it...."He was tired".....

    • Is this not a moral issue? How honest can a candidate of political office be if he debates an opponent on national television, seeking to persuade voters about his competency for the office he is running for, but then cheats by having other(s) feed replies to him?

After all, these debates are not like the TV Millionaire show where you have a pre-agreed right to use a lifeline and ask others to help you answer a question....

    • "If you would actually watch the debate there is no possible way that when the questions that were directed at Bush that Rove or anyone else could deliver a super fast response like that"

Uhh....I can’t say what the truth is about this issue (the existence of an earpiece), but your logic here escapes me. If no one could deliver a "super fast response like that," wouldn’t the debates just consist of long periods of silence? People are obviously capable of responding on the spot to questions that are posed to them—and some people much more than others
(I meant Kerry, in case whoever posted that last one didn’t get it).

  • I am completely lost in words to even imagine that this is true. But, given the fact that this man is a pathological liar, it is not surprising that such a ridiculous trick could have been played on the American people. We deserve better than this for a president---America’s reputation and credibility has suffered under this administration.

    • Do people actually wear receivers on their backs? I’ve never heard or seen anything like that. Also, aren’t they a lot smaller than that? It’s so tough to be objective in this Kerry/Bush thing when many people are so quick to jump on these retarded conspiracy theory bandwagons. We need some independant thinkers here.

Note .. I’m not saying Bush didn’t get fed his lines. I am not qualified to say. I just think that this is some pretty lame evidence. Seriously. I have a new theory. It was an alien trying to escape from Bush’s back. That would explain his seemingly pained looks, and delayed responses. Now do we really want a president who has an alien inside? Better vote Kerry just to be safe.

  • He was talking to the moderator, he even lifts his finger TO HIM, the moderator turned and acted like he was about to talk to Kerry....but Bush wasnt done.

    Stupid Conspiracy theories

    • I’m surprised that Bush’s cronies couldn’t find a better place to hide the transmitter. That back patch looks so dumb!

    • Ever heard of Skull and Bones?

Kerry and Bush are both members.

      http://www.funtrunk.com/XL/?ID=1510

      http://www.funtrunk.com/XL/?ID=1512

    • Alright. Regardless of who he was talking to, he obviously sucked balls in both debates. His recycled catch phrases and buzz words are so overused and overstated that they have lost all meaning. I’m sorry, but the most important thing in america is freedom, not tools with which to bypass freedoms, even if it is for the war on terror. Bush said it himself after 9/11 we need to continue with our lives and not taint the character of america, or the terrorists have won. I think illegal detentions abuse of executive privilage, sweetheart deals to companies with known ties throughout the administration, and total lack of appreciation for international law have led us to one of the most dangerous crossroads in american history. And to quote bush, I don’t think we need to turn that corner. We need to flip a bitch and head back down the road to isolationism. We need to do what we do best. Say fuck the world, go and watch monday night football and drink beer, and next time france gets in a shitfit, we go out and prove why we are the greatest country on earth.

    • That’s not how it happened, and yes, it happened well before the lights changed (early in the response). What debate were you watching? Sure it’s a conspiracy theory, but stick to the facts if you want to refute it.

    • What is truly amazing is that there are actually people in this country who will go vote for Bush. He has been the worst president in the history of the US and he can’t even fool anyone about his lack of a brain that functions, and yet people are still willing to approve of Bush ruining our country by supporting him in his crimes against our democracy.

  • There are earpieces which can’t be seen and completely go into the ear. With a scanner and a competent person behind it those signals could be picked up easily.

Anyway I always thought they BOTH use earpieces. It’s just impossible to remember so many numbers about so many different issues imo.

I think the White House is spitting propaganda again.

Remember that video tape that was sent to Gore’s campaign? It happened right around the time of the debates. The story disappeared after the debate.

I think there is an explanation which must be given for what was inside the President’s jacket because I don’t own any suits that pucker in square shaped puckers. There is controversy in what to call this, I vote for ‘Puckergate’.

In all seriousness, the press must now be responsible and get to the bottom of this and not treat it the way the White House wants it to be treated: I have heard campaign representatives saying things like ‘little green men’ and ‘conspiracy’. I don’t see that, I see reasonable questions:

What was that rectangular shaped object inside the back of the President’s jacket?

Why did the President say ‘let me finish’ 60 seconds into a 90 second response when, after I re-watched the tape, nobody had tried to interrupt him?

Why do some networks have interference when the President speaks, and what they hear is someone speaking BEFORE the president says something? I have seen it, and it was broadcast live.

Why does the president, during the first debate, have seconds where he looks like someone who is distracted? At times he seems as if he may be listening to someone (it looks that way sometimes when re-watched)?

Another thing is this: could the President see himself on TV? Did he know he was on a split screen? At one point very early in the debate he made this awful facial gesture on TV, he looked instantly as if he knew what he had done… the odd thing is this: if he couldn’t see himself, how did he know he was caught on camera? As far as he knew, he was not going to be shown split screen.

  • Oh my God. No wonder the right-wingers have so much contempt for us!

I’ve always said that Bush is so popular because his stupidity appeals to an enormous number of stupid Americans.

But what about you guys? You’re stupid and you *don’t* support him?!

Of all the cockeyed conspiracy theories. How embarrassing for ANYONE with a brain who is not a Bush supporter. To have the likes of these X-files / Men-In-Black freaks on our side.

Yes, folks, Bush went out on camera, in front of a television audience of millions and millions of people wearing a microphone pack that somehow passed muster with all of his handlers. None of them said anyone will see it, and oops, there it is! Yeah, that’s plausible.

It’s even more plausible considering that after the debates, there was a good chance that someone would have patted him on the back and felt it. And Bush’s handlers weren’t worried about that.

Whatever was on his back (nothing, obviously, just a wrinkle in the fabric) was small enough to fit in his pants pocket. Why wasn’t it put there, instead? He stood up for the debate...he didn’t sit down. Why wasn’t it put in the front inside pocket of the jacket? Why strapped to his back?

I’ll tell you why: There was no battery pack.

Fucking idiots. It’s people like you who are going to end up costing us the election and we’ll have to deal with four more years of this fucking moron.

  • I think the media needs to investigate this for the public.

  • Mr. Reynolds,
Your liberal, asinine theories are more than humorous, they reek of desperation. You can nitpick what Bush was saying all you want, everyone saw the moderator motioning to him as well as Kerry implying he was going to immediately respond verbally. It was the first response and the President was sure he was going to be cut off and to claim that was not the case is completely biased and untrue.
It is incredible with all the media advantage (i.e. liberal media) Kerry has, you have to stoop to something this low.
Face the facts; your candidate is basing his entire campaign on retrospective decision making, a luxury no President possesses in office. Argue the issues and respectfully disagree, don’t make incredulous claims in a vain effort to influence the misinformed.

    • Nathan, is it worse to say you would’ve done a better job than the other guy, or to be the other guy and say you’d make the same mistakes if you had to do it all over again? What’s that saying, "fool me once shame on..."? Apparently the President has no shame.

    • Having seen the video on http://www.maxuk.net/mt I wonder what excuse the White House comes up with now. Probably that the president is getting his words whispered to him ’from above’.

    • XXXXXXYWGUIDHUIWDHUIWDHUIWDHUIDWUDHUIWDHIUWDHUIWDH After clicking your link i wonder how you could believe that every president doesn’t need help in speeches...ok the debate i think he should be impeached if he actually had help but speeches in front of other nations?! HE NEEDS help so other countries don’t see the actully idiot we elected!

  • By Dave S.

I’m not going to speculate whether the President was wearing an earpiece or not. In viewing the video, take note that at 40:32 the red warning light on the podium illuminates and at 40:37 he says, "Now let me finish". He was looking directly at the moderator when he says this. Isn’t it possible he was talking to the moderator regarding his time running out?

  • what better place to put the box looking thing then behind his back, since it was one of the conditions of the debate that there would be no camera shots from behind. what better place to put it then where no one is allowed to look. someone messed up pretty bad though i guess.

    • Number One: Bush was NOT wearing a vest. Bullet proof vests are bulky. You can see the form of his body under the jacket. Also - if people were reading the above posts his publicists said he doesn’t wear them inside.

Also - it’s very possible that he WOULD wear a wired earpiece because wireless earpieces would make it more likely someone could pick up the transmission. If it’s wired to a box it could better be encrypted so that no one would break into the transmissions.

Also - I watched the debate and I remember that moment because no one had gestured or talked and I wondered what the hell Bush was doing when he said, ’Let me finish’. I just figured he had stumbled over a line or a point and was backtracking but it still struck me as odd.

I guarantee Republicans also suspect it but they refuse to ever admit he does anything wrong because Republicans always toe the party line. They’re not able to think for themselves and admit something is wrong.

They just refuse to admit it because they are defensive when people attack their stance.

Just remember: the MORE defensive they are about a position the guiltier they feel.

  • He was just pointing out to the moderater because his time was almost up. But nice try.

  • I Stayed up until 5am for each of the 3 presidential debates (U.S. expat living in Europe), and I did not notice any earpieces or for that matter bulges on the back, but what I did notice in the second pres debate was GWB’s right ear when the camera angle caught it. I had not noticed this before, but his ear is very pointed and elongated, like that of a demon, or on lthe lighter side, like that of the illustrious Mr. Spock.
    RLJ-Croatia

  • Several times during the course of the debates, Bush did not use all of his alotted time. When this would happen, the moderator would check with him to be sure he was finished before going over to Kerry. In this instance, he finished a point and paused. He was saying to the moderator to let him finish because the moderator signaled to him asking if he was done. He was looking directly at the mod when he said "let me finish".

  • After noticing the obvious droop in the left side of W’s mouth, I’m thinking it’s more likely he was wearing something akin to the LifeVest™ from LifeCOR, or some another similar device. This is obviously a very sick man. To check out the LifeVest™ go to: http://www.lifecor.com/about_lifevest/when_to_use.asp

As far as hearing voices, I don’t think he needs a device for that :)

Also, there is a photo online showing the same rectangular bulge while he’s wearing a t-shirt and driving a vehicle at his, ahem, ranch.

  • I’m sure you’ll erase this message as well. This article was YET ANOTHER IDIOTIC BLURB. The Internet is like a global village: full of village fools. :)

  • The guy is doing the best he can, Put yourself in his place and what would you do ? Bush is doing what every blue blooded american would do - protect the country. Give the guy a break. the media is focused on finding fault but i have yet to find any of these fault finders that I would be interested in voting for. If they want to be vindicated then let them be voted for - otherwise let them shut up.

    • you guys are really unrealistic. with technology today, microphones and battery packs are definitely not that big. it wouldn’t be visible. i can hook up a hidden microphone to myself and it wouldnt be visible at all. a tiny battery pack can provide power for up to 5 hours. be realistic kids.
