Home > Bush’s "Smoking Gun"
Yesteday upon the stair I saw a man who wasn’t there. He wasn’t there again today....I wish to Hell he’d go away!
Could Bush’s "Smoking Gun" become a real "Mushroom Cloud"? Sure.
For months the Bush administration has been making grossly exaggerated claims about Iran’s "New-Q-Lar" weapons uranium enrichment, often claiming that that country is "on the verge" of possissing the bomb. Recent reports from the IAEA and intelligence networks in the area challenge Bush’s claims. In fact, athough most claim Iran DOES desire the bomb (probably for propaganda purposes), they acknowledge that Iran is probably years away from achieving their ends. No matter; Israel is jacking up the attack rhetoric, insisting that they may have to "take out" hundreds of sites by air, and of course we all know what plans have been drawn for massive attacks by our government.
Despite the recent statements by several higher up millitary officials that they would resign if such an attack were imminent, Bush and Cheney will no doubt proceed as soon as they deem the moment propitious.
The result of Bush’s imaginary "Smoking Gun", then, could well result in a GENUINE MUSHROOM CLOUD!
Much discussion has been underway regarding the use of small "bunker buster" nukes, and Bush apparently has no qualms about using them...nor does Israel. If they were to launch a massive attack during which such weapons were utilized, all Hell, literally, could break out in the region; Russia might enter the fray (they have engineers in Iran), China, too, could participate (they have much money invested in processing equipment), and of course various organizations like Hezbollah, Hamas, and al Qaeda would certainly use these massive strikes as an excuse for a real Jihad...a massive attack on US interests....including, quite likely, strikes IN the USA!...and that doesn’t even take into consideration IRAN’s likely revenge on us throughout the globe.
But in the end Bush and the Neocons would find it all worthwhile. After all THEY aren’t in any danger and they just love the sight of rosy red blossoming mushroom clouds...especially if they’re "over there".

The thinking world knows that Iran is at least 5 yrs. from developing a nuclear weapon. The IAEA’s report indicated the Iran is indeed building a ......get this......POWER PLANT - which is well within their rights under the NPT. The world is not in danger from Iran but in far more danger from bush and the neo-zio-cons.
With regards to enriching uranium, it would be helpful to remember that in order to do ANYTHING with it, it must be enriched.

Fine, why don’t we revisit this in 4-1/2 years when there is a real big problem. There is a great price for the freedom we in the free world enjoy. The world is a tough and inhospitable place. It is only through the leadership, vision and direction of great people that we can calm the elements and coexist in some form of harmony. Most of the people that post on this site are the “Run for cover types”. Peace, peace, peace, “I want peace!” What a bunch of pathetic pitiful souls they are.

#64 is obviously in favor of pre-emptive invasions and total disregard for international law.
#64 would do well to understand that Iran is pursuing peaceful nuclear technology. Israel is NOT.
