    A question I’ve frequently been asked since I began writing for Pravda.Ru in 2003 is, “Why did you become disillusioned with the practice of law?”
    This question is understandable, particularly since, in most people’s minds, being an attorney is synonymous with wealth and political power.

    Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

    The late civil rights activist Malcolm X once said, “I believe that there will ultimately be a clash between the oppressed and those who do the oppressing.     In a previous Pravda.Ru article, Justice in America is a Lie (02/21/11), I explained how attorneys are trained to not only look at the immediate impact of a legal case or historical event, but also at the precedent that case or event might set.     According to some prognosticators, the world will end in 2012. This hypothesis is based upon many beliefs, including the prophecies of the Hopi Indians and the Mayan Long Count Calendar.

    During my years of writing for Pravda.Ru, I have frequently been critical of America’s legal system, which, in turn, has prompted many readers to ask why and how this disillusionment took place.
