Governments USA

I think we should give our Congress a ‘Christmas in Iraq’ by visiting them this Christmas season and giving them a Christmas like the Iraqis and our troops are experiencing. Show up at their local offices with pictures of the carnage they helped create. Visit their homes with a crowd, signs and read the stories of the reality in Iraq over a loudspeaker. Why should they enjoy a peaceful holiday while they are still ruining the lives of so many?

John Conyers is starting a town hall meeting tour where he is attempting to silence the public on Impeachment. He started the meeting by asking all those holding Impeachment signs to put them down.

The following is a report from a DUer

On impeachment: It is not practical right now. It will never succeed, as they don’t have the votes. They would just tie up the legislative process for 4-6 months if they got bogged down in impeachment and they wouldn’t get anything done. Then, of course, people would say they didn’t get anything done and throw them out.

Instead Conyers will pursue what he calls, get this “A New American Agenda”
where they will pursue anything but Impeachment…

*international law issues and how our country does not follow may of them
*reintroduce legislation to establish the Department of Peace
*We need to work on a single-payer, universal health care bill

*eform the new bankruptcy law
*We need to do something about Darfur.
*We need to reform the criminal justice system.
*We need to create a whole new paradigm — we need to change what the U.S. means to the world.
*Go back to the civil rights movement: jobs, justice, peace.

I doubt I need to state the obvious, but does anyone thing anything will be accomplished with Bush in office? This is more stalling.

Conyers is holding his “A New American Agenda” meetings around the country, I suggest that everyone attend them but when he asks you to put your Impeachment signs down, say NO!

IMPEACHMENT IS OUR POSITIVE AGENDA.

How can anyone who is sworn to uphold our constitution think they should just overlook blatant violations of the law and just move on to other things?

We cannot allow John Conyers and Nancy Pelosi to lead our country into stupidity.

I think we should give our Congress a ‘Christmas in Iraq’ by visiting them this Christmas season and giving them a Christmas like the Iraqis and our troops are experiencing. As some celebrate the birth of Christ, wouldn’t it be nice to act in his behalf? Would Jesus be sitting at home enjoying his wealth and privilege meanwhile being responsible for the killing of so many? Take the time to stand outside your congresspersons home reminding them just who they are celebrating. Shout loudly “Thou shall not kill” Thou shall not steal!! Demand Impeachment and cutting the funding off to Halliburton and the other looters.

Let them know that we are not going away. This outrage will only grow until they answer to the will of the people.

  • I strongly advocate Impeachment-BUT the Senate would never vote to affirm it, even if the House succeeded with it.

SO, in order to Impeach, we need somehow to overcome the Senate-but HOW?? This is where we should be focusing if we want to get a true change.

    • Bush has admitted to illegal wiretapping on National TV- Any senator that votes to protect him will be thrown out!

Besides, as soon as article of Impeachment are brought forth,Bush will resign faster than you can say "Nixon"

    • To 70/39:

I see you still do not understand the reality that you have created (and are self-impeading).

No matter. But a suggestion: Keep thinking the same thoughts you are thinking but look at them as a second (outside) person is looking at the thoughts.

In a few years time you will come to know that your thoughts and efforts of today would have been equal to moving through air. Never lasting or coalesing and never effecting you surroundings and people.

Your thoughts show that you have learned nothing from past memory.

My good wishes for your future (perhaps) wisdom.

    • Bush will not have to resign nor will he.

      No impeachment will take place.

The opposition and differences you see are not real between any of the leadership nor to any extent the American public.

Time will again show I am correct.
