How Did Kerry Get To Be The Democratic Nominee?

I am stunned to learn John Kerry has announced that he would have voted to give the president the authority to attack Iraq even if he knew there were no weapons of mass destruction to be found there. That announcement will do nothing less than cause some rabid anti-war Kerry supporters to cast their votes for renegade Ralph Nader, while giving aid and support to his incumbent opponent in the upcoming presidential debates.

Tell me it isn’t so: Is John Kerry as stupid and ill advised as was Howard Dean? It appears he may be, and possibly worse.

It is a fact that as a Massachusetts senator, Kerry voted for the blatantly non-constitutional "resolution" to illegally hand over the exclusive constitutional congressional power to declare war on Iraq to the president back in October of 2002.

Had Kerry any respect whatsoever for his oath, and a healthy knowledge of the plainly written Constitution, he would have known that Congress has no authority under the Constitution to transfer the authority to declare war to the Executive Branch - or to any other branch of government. If the authority to hand over the power to declare war is not explicitly given Congress by the Constitution, then the act is expressly forbidden under Article X of the Bill of Rights.

Until now, Kerry could have hidden behind the perpetually wrong argument that the ends justified the means most of his other colleagues used to approve that onerous resolution; that being that Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction, and that he intended to use them against United States interests imminently.

But now, Kerry has inadvertently leveled the playing field regarding any future war debate. He has played right into George W. Bush’s hand, and Bush will use Kerry’s words against him with aplomb. No doubt about it: Kerry and his team are idiots.

I just wrote a friend that there are three more months where anything can happen, but that if the election were held today, Kerry would win decisively. Well, anything just did happen, and I can’t wait for Kerry to let the other shoe drop. What’ll it be next, candidate Kerry??

  • It was a setup!
Kerry got to be the nominee because the powers that be wanted it that way. The entire Dean ’dominating for a year’ = bait and switch. This phony election is a sick joke on the American people- are most Americans really so stupid as to believe that Bush/Kerry are the two most noble and wise people in the country, the cream of the crop to lead the world?

Kerry’s continuation of the wars on Iraq and the Palestinians is not the will of the people- the Democratic party has been co-opted and they literally pushed kerry on us thru lies and media manipulation. We the people need to stand up and demand a candidate that offers a real alternative to the continued escalation of global violence that both kerry and bush promise.

Ask everyone you know, how many voted for kerry? none- don’t be surprised- recognize that it’s true- nobody voted for this fool who suppposedly dominated the primaries like never before. how did this boring old fool dominate? Dean says that they all knew whoever won the Iowa primary was going to win it all.

Get that folks- 290 million americans, your vote doesn’t count for shit- there were 27,000 in Iowa, huddled around their tv sets in the middle of winter, that decided that kerry was the best choice- and from there on out it was all just a waste of time.

I guess the skull and boners have been working this system so long they’ve made it easy for themselves. What will it take to get people to realize that this election is a false choice between two, pro-war, pro-bigbrother millionaires- the choice is who do you prefer to watch on tv, a boring old goat or humorous villiage idiot- either way the policies will be the same.

    peace is possible- now
quit work, shut down the system
and demand a true candidate for change

  • John Kerry should be fired as senator, not hired as president, for his vote on the patriot act alone. And then his vote on the war! And now saying he still would have voted for it....well what is his reason exactly? He thinks the weapons are going to be found on a turkey farm too? How can both Kerry and Bush think nothing of the thousands of innocent Iraqis who have been killed, their lives and homes destroyed, people maimed and left with cancerous DU covered soil...not to mention the US soldiers who have died, who have been maimed, who have been asked to kill other human beings for these lies?

We must demand more for our country. We must recall Kerry as a candidate. There must be a way. This is absurd. Why should anyone be neck and neck with Bush? It’s ridiculous. Kerry should be shredding the lies, like a real American like Dennis Kucinich would do. Bush wouldn’t even be in this election if Dennis Kucinich got some real media time. They would be looking for another candidate. I am afraid however that Kerry is working for the military industrial complex and his skull and boner friends, not the American people.

My dream election Dennis Kucinich vs. Ron Paul.....everybody wins. These two are the best we have to offer! We have got to do better for our country.
