U.S. Arrogance in Iraq
25 October 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
by Ivan Eland
In the run up to the November 7 elections, U.S. politicians from both parties are telling Iraqis that they are not doing enough to improve their own security. Democrats are disparaging Iraqi security efforts and criticizing the Bush administration for not pressuring Iraqis to do more. In response, the Bush administration is said to be creating a specific timetable of milestones for the Iraqi government to disarm militias, reduce sectarian violence, and increase stability and (…) -
The choice before Humanity

In the first decade of the 21st century, the human race stands at the crossroads. On the one hand, the achievements of modern science and technology have provided us with the means of solving all the problems that have plagued us for all of history. We can eradicate diseases, abolish illiteracy and homelessness and make deserts bloom.
On the other hand, reality seems to mock these dreams. The discoveries of science are used to produce ever more monstrous weapons of mass (…) -

ISRAEL, PALESTINE, AND CANADA
John Chuckman
Canada’s Thirty-Percent Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, just made a speech at a B’nai Brith banquet. Normally, there would be nothing notable in this, but his words this time reinforced controversial statements he made while Israel savagely bombed Lebanon. He also continued driving an ugly new Republican-style wedge into Canada’s national politics after calling Liberal leadership candidates "anti-Israel."
Harper said that his government (…) -
Israel admits phosphorus bombing

2 commentsIsrael has for the first time admitted it used controversial phosphorus bombs during fighting against Hezbollah in Lebanon in July and August.
Cabinet minister Jacob Edery confirmed the bombs were dropped "against military targets in open ground".
Israel had previously said the weapons were used only to mark targets.
Phosphorus weapons cause chemical burns and the Red Cross and human rights groups say they should be treated as chemical weapons.

In the month of October as cited in this article "U.S. sees deadliest month in ’06 in Iraq" we have lost 78 American troops. We depend upon our soldiers to be the front line of our national security. With this astounding number lost to our collective national security under the Bush/Cheney/GOP led government, are you feeling secure?
I think of our soldiers as being our (…) -

The pre-planned war in Afghanistan will be 5 years old on 7 October. The PNAC gang had their eyes on Afghanistan and its oil prior to 9/11, as seen in R. M. Gerecht’s (March ’01) NY Times article, reprinted on the PNAC website. “In 1996, it seemed possible that American-built gas and oil pipelines from Central Asia could run through an Afghanistan ruled by one leader. ... .To really put Mr. bin Laden out of business, America must shut down his operations inside Afghanistan,” (…) -
Upon Red Rivers of Genocide

Living Inside Hell on Earth
Daily upon the rivers that birthed civilization can the flow of crimson colored blood be seen journeying over liquid roadways through the land of Mesopotamia, its accumulated and growing volume the result of scattered bodies, bullet hole riddled men and bloated humans, all silent witnesses to the devastation that has cursed the Iraqi people.
Tainted with the flow of human wickedness, the Tigris and Euphrates spread their polluted waters over the entire culture (…) -

More than 1.25 million suspected cases have been reported since February, the WHO said in a statement yesterday. The disease, which is rarely life-threatening and causes severe joint pain and (…)
