Facing A Tough Re-Election Bid, Sad Sack Santorum "Finds" WMD By Bill Gallagher June 27 2006 Detroit - It just becomes a matter of faith, blind faith. Facts and reason have no place in discussions about the unending mess in Iraq and the contrived reasons the Busheviks sold to carry out the invasion. The desperate defense of the indefensible reached a new, laughable low when Sen. Rick Santorum declared that, indeed, Saddam Hussein’s hidden weapons of horror have been found.
The sorry (…)

Richard Perle: A Serial Warmonger!
26 June 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
2 commentsRecently, sixteen American GIs were killed in the Iraqi War in one week! (1) This brought the total U.S. fatalities to 2519. This is the same conflict which was recklessly launched in March, 2003, by the Bush-Cheney Gang based on lies. (2) The chief architect of the war, Paul Wolfowitz, a Neocon, then a Deputy Secretary of Defense, now sits in a cushy office in Washington, D.C., bringing down a six-figure salary, as the President of the World Bank. (3) Meanwhile, another pro-Iraqi War (…)

"Victory" can never be
26 June 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
3 commentsI still remember the advertising slogan for Tobe Hooper’s horror classic "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" WHO WILL SURVIVE AND WHAT WILL BE LEFT OF THEM?
This phrase prompts me to consider something which hasn’t been written about yet. We’ve talked at length about US troops coming home and the trauma they’ve experienced (coupled with various "mysterious" diseases which will inevitably kill them), but haven’t said a single word about WHY the US cannot possibly "win" the "war" in Iraq by (…) -
You can’t go home again
26 June 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentThere’s endless talk these days, and it’s escalating as November approaches....about bringing home our troops. A noble dream, but those who advocate it don’t venture a thought beyond that simple and heartfelt phrase. In fact, "home" may not mean home at all, but just a shift down to Kuwait for a spell or up to Afghanistan to relieve the tired fighters of the Taliban who are making a comeback there.
Or...
The troops may go off to Turkey or Germany or any number of other overseas bases. (…) -

GOP Abandons Our Military (Again), Appeases Barbaric Insurgents Posted by SusanUnPC Wednesday, 21 June 2006 at 14:22
Astonishingly — especially after the "U.S. Says 2 Bodies Retrieved in Iraq Were Brutalized" — Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.), concerned that Sen. John Warner (R-Va.) wants to appease the Iraqi government — had to bring a resolution (S. 2766, On the Amendment S. Amdt. 4265) to the Senate floor yesterday to "express the sense of Congress that the Government of Iraq should not (…) -
The Impenetrable Fog Of Bill O’Reilly

1 commentThe Impenetrable Fog Of Bill O’Reilly By Don Wycliff June 22, 2006 If intellectual dishonesty could be said to have a face, I saw it Tuesday evening as I watched Bill O’Reilly’s program on Fox News.
I watched without the benefit of sound—if any was coming from the television it couldn’t be heard over the din in the bar where I was in Mishawaka, Ind. But Fox conveniently runs a stripped-down text next to O’Reilly’s image as he delivers his opening commentary. And there was, in addition, (…) -

So Called Iraqi WMD

So Called Iraqi WMD By Larry C Johnson Friday, 23 June 2006 at 12:09 Senator Rick Santorum’s desperate effort to reenergize his failing re-election campaign by touting the discovery of so-called Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq. Repeat after me, BULL FECAL MATTER!
Leave it to Faux, er, I mean, Fox News, to spin the malarkey:
"We have found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, chemical weapons," Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., said in a quickly called press conference late Wednesday (…) -
New Details On WMD "Fabricator" Emerge. Warnings That Iraqi Was Lying About Bioweapons Ignored

New Details On WMD "Fabricator" Emerge Warnings That Iraqi Was Lying About Bioweapons Ignored, Ex-CIA Aide Says By Joby Warrick, The Washington Post Updated: 4:06 a.m. ET June 25, 2006 In late January 2003, as Secretary of State Colin Powell prepared to argue the Bush administration’s case against Iraq at the United Nations, veteran CIA officer Tyler Drumheller sat down with a classified draft of Powell’s speech to look for errors. He found a whopper: a claim about mobile biological labs (…)

War On Terror A Losing Game
25 June 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
3 commentsWar On Terror A Losing Game By Michael Harris June 23, 2006
What will it take to persuade this government that our military deployment in Afghanistan is a disaster for Canada?
Stephen Harper bristles at the very notion of seriously debating this doomed mission.
But the president of the country we are supposed to be "securing" sees it differently. Afghanistan’s president, Hamid Karzai, says that the recent deaths of 600 Afghans in the so-called war on terror is "unacceptable."
He (…)
