Foreign Minister of Iraq Hoshyar Zebari told the Sunday Telegraph of London that his government had gathered information from intelligence services showing support by some neighboring countries to the insurgents.

Although Zebari did not mention Syria by name, other high ranking officials in the new Iraqi government pointed the fingers at Syria and Iran as the countries that are most to blame for training and funding foreign elements in Iraq to disrupt the country’s move towards democracy.

"Since we started to look at the security situation, we have seen how foreign governments have been helping terrorists," the newspaper quoted Zebari as saying. "Why they are doing it we cannot say, but we know where the support is coming from. We have plans to put this before the public within days and it will have substantial impact," he told the newspaper.

Baghdad also believed that up to 10,000 foreign spies and undercover agents had infiltrated the country since last year’s war, the newspaper reported.

Zebari "even indicated that Iraq might not oppose attacks by American troops based in Iraq on neighboring states if they were backing the insurgents," the Sunday Telegraph added. He was quoted as warning that supporting terrorists "will backfire on those governments".

  • Long live America and God bless President Bush for his support of freedom and Democracy for Afghanistan, Iraq, and very, very, soon for IRAN.

    • God forgive America and President Bush for his policys of preventative aggression done in the name of "freedom," a pretext used by all imperail expansionist powers throughout history. According to the rest of the world opinion President Bush is considered the greatest threat to world peace. The United States is acting a rouge superpower and in doing so causing desperation in a number of nations. Many smaller countires belive that the only way to secure saftey for thier nations is by nuclear deterance. The North Korea incident proved this. A country stating explicity that it had nuclear weapons making it a much larger threat was not invaded. Iraq and Afganistan were invaded because they were realtivly defenceless. America the "brave"?
An attack on Iran would leave an already unstable region to reap a whirlwind of nuclear destruction resulting in wholesale destrution for all parties concered.

  • God Bless America, and let’s hope for the sake of the whole world that our Great Leader George W. Bush gets re-elected in November. To even start talking about peace in the Middle East, regimes in Iran and Syria must be changed as soon as possible, and it is up to America to make it happen.

    • God Bless America and the rest of the planet earth. But as far as president Bush is concerned, you can wish him well all you want, since his possible re-election will be considered a victory to the asshole V.P. he has, Dick(head) Cheney and his lap-dogs, Wolfowitz and Rumsfeld.

Bush himself is not fit to govern, not even his Texas ranch, let alone a nation full of many bigoted, violence-loving people like yourself. Waging war against Syria and Iran may be an objective of the Zionist Neocons who are pilfering the American tax dollars, to support the international outlaw state, that we call Israel.

It wouldn’t be easy to wage another war against any state given the hell American troops find themselves in in Iraq. The situation there is not going to get any better before the last Yankee and Iraqi collaborator is kicked out from Iraq. And so would be the case if either of Syria or Iran are attacked.

Regime change is the exclusive mandate of the people of any country who desires change. Peace cannot be achieved through war. Hatred and violence are the outcome of wars, especially if they are illegal and are based on lies.

Civilised nations and people oppose war and want to resolve any disputes by peaceful means. If you want to show any civility, you better call the anti-war office nearest to you, before humanity looses another mind to trash bin of history.
