May Day Demonstrations in Israel and Palestine !

This Saturday, May 1st, 2004, they will be serveral demonstrations:

– In Nazareth, Paulus Street, at 10:30 the Jewish-Arab May Day demonstration by Hadash (the Equality and Peace Front - Communist Party of Israel). For more information: info@maki.org.il

– In Tel-Aviv, Rabin Square, at 15:30 the Youth Demonstration: The Youth Movement of the Histadrut (HaNoar HaOved VeAlomed), Hashomer Hatzair, The Youth Communist Alliance (Banki) and others. For more information: info@hadash.org.il

– In Abu-Dis: major Palestinian demonstration in the occupied territories marking the May Day, the international workers’ day, will take place in Abu-Dis — Sawahre. The demonstration has been organized by the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions, a federation that has a long history of promoting cooperation between Israelis and Palestinians. On May 1, we will protest against the violation of the right to work, a violation which has left thousands of Palestinian workers without the means of providing for their families. We will meet at 10:00 on the French Hill - the #4 bus stop on Bar Kochva Street (#22), and from there we will continue to Abu Dis. For more information: www.taayush.org
