Meeting With the House Judiciary Committee Staff on Impeachment Thursday Morning

By David Swanson

This is not an April Fool’s joke. Leslie Angeline and Ellen Taylor of Code Pink led a delegation to the House Judiciary Committee office on Wednesday in the Rayburn House Office Building, Room 2138. They sat down and refused to leave, were permitted to stay, and spoke with the good staff people there about the need to impeach Vice President Cheney before, rather than after, an attack on Iran.

They’re heading back tomorrow at 10 a.m., and I’ve agreed to join them. Expected to take part in tomorrow’s visit are: Faye Williams, National Chair of the National Congress of Black Women, and a former Counsel to the U.S. Congress; Rev. Graylan Scott Hagler, President of Ministers for Racial, Social and Economic Justice; former Congressman Rev.

Walter Faunteroy, President of the National Black Leadership Roundtable; and Anas "Andy" Shallal, an Iraqi-American artist, activist, restaurateur, and founder of Iraqi Americans for Peaceful Alternatives. Others are joining this list, and YOU are invited to join with us.

Join us! RSVP to 202-290-1301, or simply be there at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 3rd, 2008, Rayburn House Office Building, Room 2138, Washington, D.C.
