Spineless Kerry should have embraced evidence of election fraud, supported protests
by Open-Publishing - Saturday 8 January 200522 comments
John Kerry, like Al Gore before him, does not deserve the presidency of the United States.
This is not because they are incompetent politicians. This is not because they lost their elections. No. It’s because despite winning, Gore and Kerry refused to claim what was rightfully theirs.
Yesterday, Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones (D-Ohio), along with a dozen other House members, formally objected to the choice of Ohio’s electors. There is ample evidence that this election was just as crooked as the 2000 election, and Bush has once again stolen the presidency.
Let me repeat: there is evidence.
This is not a conspiracy theory; there are concrete, cold, hard facts that Republicans have stolen massive numbers of votes in another contested election. And once again, Democrats have rolled over and let them do it.

Who could forget that scene in "Fahrenheit 9/11" when lame-duck vice president and official president of the Senate Al Gore watched all the representatives contesting the election stolen from him, and not a single senator would join the call for an investigation? Why didn’t Gore call out into the halls of Congress, "I am the rightful winner! Come on, Democrats, let’s take this country back!"
Because he’s a wimp, that’s why.
Enter John Kerry (D-Mass. - get it? D-Mass?), one of those same senators from four years ago and a member of this year’s senate. He could have reserved a place for himself in the pages of history by standing up and thundering, "Yes, Ms. Jones, I will join you in your call! I won that election and, by God, I will take that office!"
That is the kind of president we need.
What we do not need is a man who won’t even show up when others claim his election for him.
In a mass e-mail to his supporters, he agreed that there were huge irregularities in the Ohio voting. He acknowledged that many voters (Democrats) were disenfranchised. He recognized "questionable practices by some election officials" (Republican zealot, chair of Ohio’s Bush for President Campaign, and Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell, the man Ohioans look to for free and fair elections). He even noted that lawful voters were denied the right to vote. But, despite this destruction of democracy, he declined to join in yesterday’s objection.
That’s right - the challenger recognized that there was undeniable fraud in this election, but "not enough." Instead of fighting for democracy against its most blatant threat, he spent the day somewhere in the Middle East, congratulating our troops on their invasion and occupation, leaving others to fight for democracy at home.
"I can’t for the life of me understand why Kerry isn’t fighting harder for this," said Cliff Arnebeck, an attorney for the Alliance for Democracy in Massachusetts. "Maybe it’s some secret Skull and Bones tradition, where you’re not supposed to show up the other guy," he said, referring to the Yale secret society of which Bush and Kerry were both members. Arnebeck filed a lawsuit in the Ohio Supreme Court on behalf of 40 voters to decertify Mr. Bush’s electors and certify the electors for Democrat John Kerry. The court did not respond.
Neither, ironically, did John Kerry. He has offered no assistance for the lawsuit; he is not fighting for the election that he most likely won. "While the existence of anomalies could possibly be explained by human error or technical malfunctions, the fact that, in every case in Ohio known to the contesters, the error favored the Bush-Cheney ticket, strongly indicates manipulation or fraud," the lawsuit said.
"This was an election where you have some glitches but none of these glitches were of a conspiratorial nature, and none of them would overturn or change the election results," Blackwell admitted on Monday, announcing his certification of Ohio’s results.
So the question, then, is not "Was there fraud?" because there was. Now everyone is asking, "Is there enough fraud to change the outcome?"
There is not an acceptable amount of electoral fraud allowed by the Constitution. We need a fair election, and if we didn’t get one then we need a new one.
But first, we need a candidate.
The only member of Congress who has actually contested Bush’s victory is Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif), who signed on to Rep. Jones’ objection, making it valid. Rep. Jones, and all other Democrats speaking in favor of the objections, all said that while they, like Sen. Kerry, believed there was disenfranchisement, they did not believe that Bush’s re-election is in doubt.
So, in the end, the Democrats have not changed anything. The Republican-dominated House and Senate both voted to overrule the objection to Ohio’s electors, and all the wimpy Democrats accomplished was forcing two hours of debate over the issue.
This would have been different, had the debate been spurred and sanctioned by Senator Kerry.
Had Kerry called for a new election, his huge base would have followed him. We saw in the Ukraine this year that when the "official" election tally by the incumbent’s government is vastly different than exit polls, the challenger can cry foul, and get a new election, and claim victory. How utterly democratic.
The democratic nominee for president of the United States never seems capable of this righteous chutzpah.
It’s too bad there’s not a donkey around who can kick anymore.

I agree absolutely. In my opinion Kerry demonstrated cowardness in battle. I supported him with money and effort but now wouldn’t help him carry water.
Robert O’Donnell CWO USN (Ret) Viet Nam Veteran----Not one of the characters saying things against Kerry befor the election but I WILL now....

Betrayed again by faithless politicos. Kerry, a genuine hero of the VietNam war has lost his nerve. Just like John McCain who crawled around after Bush like a whipped dog. Its painful to watch those two now without my skin crawling. The Democratic Leadership is also gutless in standing up to the theft of the last 3 elections thru rigged votes. 2000 - 2002 and now 2004. With the exception of Conyers, Waters, Boxer, Tubbs-Jones etal it looks like the top Dems are hiding under the bed. God Help America. John Lee Retired USArmy vet of 23 yrs service

Kerry’s not spineless - he’s been part of the whole sham from the start.
(1) Funny how Howard Dean was running ahead of the pack - Kerry was in 4th place, I think.
Yet, he somehow managed to take the lead from everyone in the primaries.
(2) ONE DAY after the election, when at that time inconsistencies were already being reported -
and in spite of him having said he and Edwards would make sure every single vote was counted -
he concedes.
(3) He and Bush and Skull and Bonesmen.
Give me a break, a newborn could see through this.

I agree with you there are only a few reasons why Kerry wouldn’t stand up and cry foul against this election fraud, one being if he had committed the same crimes earlier.
At the time it happened in Iowa I thought it very suspicious how Dean was ahead and had momentum and the ground force of thousands of volunteers and then viola... Kerry won! I think exit polls even showed Dean ahead.
Kerry can’t protest because he is alsoguilty of this crime!

I just love how arrogant Bush and his cronies are with their so-called mandate. What adds to their arrogance is the fact that none of the Democrats-and in particular John Kerry—want to come out and say anything about it. They are too afraid of appearing sore losers. Ironically, the Republicans can appeal till the cows come home in places like Washington. It is truly sad. Moreover, with a complete lock on the media, the Republican Party can control, emphasize, and assert what it wants, whenever it wants. They can defame Dan Rather, they can roll over thousands of Deaths in Iraq, they can even defy the weighty hand of Truth. Thus, while I hate Kerry for his silence and his acquiescence, I can understand just what he would have to do to invert the nature of things. He would start a war that would likely not end with his ascension but with his fall: people are just too stupid in the US, wanting their fantasies to the exclusion of truth: They want to believe in the sanctity of the vote. Similarly, I think that Kerry wants to believe in the sanctity of the US and would probably never condone any action that would mar its sterling appearance: particularly something as self-revealing as the questionable nature of the vote.

Although Kerry’s current fact-finding mission in the Middle East can hopefully open up channels of communication that will expedite peace, I think he should have stayed in the US for a fact-finding mission about the recent election. If he had the skills, he could have diplomatically shown strength and dedication to democracy via an investigation in Ohio, but instead, he and the DNC chose the path of least resistance in hopes of a better outcome down the road.
For some reason, Kerry (and Clinton) tries very hard not to embarrass Bush. The media and this country seem to hold Bush to much lower standards than any other president. No one expects Bush to be moral, intelligent or fair. It is a phenomenon that few presidents get away with…certainly the Clintons never had this advantage.
The historic debate on the Ohio election was a good thing; however, the long list of fraudulent acts was quickly discredited as conspiracy or blogger’s hype. Obviously, the more the Republicans try to divert attention away from all the pile of evidence by packaging it as “crazy” or “delusional”, the more they are trying to hide and are scared of the truth being discovered.
I want the Republicans to be held responsible for any dirty tricks that took place. Illegal antics should be exposed and appropriately dealt with. If Kerry and the DNC allow these offenses, they will be partners in crime and will have wronged the American people and their party—probably beyond repair.

What is up with B. Clinton and how he says Bush won fair and square (on Larry King Live)? When people accuse Bush of being stingy with donations to victims of tsunami, he says that is "a bum rap". He is incredibly supportive considering how he was treated when he was president and considering the many obvious voter irregularities throughout the nation and the obvious voter suppression. What game is he playing?

Bill made a deal to keep from getting ousted as president, and now he has forgotten that he is a Democrat. As to Kerry he might as well hang it up. He is all washed up as he should be after promising to make sure all votes were counted, he instead cut and ran. And how much more obvious could he have been by making sure he went overseas on a "fact finding" mission. What a disgusting piece of shit he turned out to be, I will never vote again in this country, the maggots can all have the dead democracy there is no difference between Bush and Kerry or Bill and Bush or McCain and Bush, etc...

At only one time has Bush ever proudly told the truth: "You’re either with us, or you’re against us!" Kerry is with Bush and against us now, as he has been before, and will be forever - so get over it. Be careful what leadership you seek and what faith you lose in trusting established political parties and allegedly elected officials. People need to speak with each other, with other Americans, and get acquainted, one by one, and decide as a PEOPLE to arise and reestablish America and American Democracy. The people and the political parties presently with power stole that power from us, and they and their laws no longer represent America and Americans. Money and greed are now the law of the land. The People of The United States of America are long overdue for a revolution! Our people in uniform overseas will either be with us, or against us! I’m willing to trust their good judgment! I have always been against Bush and all that he (mis)represents. How about you?

I have been watching with interest the development of this subject from UK.
How the US can stand as a nation and proudly espouse the democracy it is supposed to be is totally beyond me! Everything was pointing towards your election being manipulated for weeks before the day as overseas voters were disenfranchised, postal votes lost etc. The writing was on the wall.
Yet, your government pronounces judgement on many other countries and their own voting systems or elections.
Wake up America you are on a downward slope to a one party state. Watch Russia!
Unfortunately, Britain, by introducing mass postal balloting, has introduced vote fraud on a scale never seen before and, of course, the Labour government here dismisses the argument and the findings of its own study! Are we heading for the same experience here?

fixed elections, corporate controlled government and media....can you say FACISM?
WE NEED INTERNATIONAL HELP NOW!!!
10 January 2005, 13:42
I cry for our country and how it’s been turned into "Bizzarro World" by money and stupid people.
Kerry was indeed a part of this fiasco this past election. It was all a part of the plan. The team in the white house is no better than the bloods or the crips. They’ve strong-armed their way in, and you’re going to need to kill someone in there to get them out.
Mothers, Fathers, Brothers and Sisters of yours voted for this, how will they hold their heads up when gwb & co. is sent to jail for war crimes against the people?
Answer: Easy.
People don’t give a crap any longer for anything other than more money. Need an opinion? They got lots of those. Need fifty bucks? FORGET IT!
Sadly while we complain and whine about all of this to each other, nothing changes. This has gone on for years and years. We could have stopped it, we still could in a second. But there’s that little thing called money to deal with. Everyone wants some of that, and the repukelicans are spreading it on thick as jelly on that morning toast.
I suggest you give up and get along. That’s right.
Start a new organization called We Believe in change"
The United States of Texas will get a check right out to your "faith based" initiative A.S.A.P. Then just do whatever you like but stay under the radar. You’ll be fine as long as you stop b*tching and start screwin’ like the rest of them.
Good luck and let’s get together again when this is all over. In Heaven.
Cheers,
Clear Conscious

Many citizens urge Democratic National Committee from now on to choose presidential
candidates who WILL NEVER BACK DOWN EVEN IF THE VOTES FOR THE REPUBLICAN
CANDIDATE. He will need to fight back until HE WINS !!!
Take a look at Ukraine Opposition leader. (although he is secretly aided and supported by the
US government). He did NOT Back Down until HE WINS (even if it were a fraud !).
Kerry is NOT Qualified to be the Democratic Candidate at all !
We all wasted our so much Time and Money, Hope to support him !
Many citizens feel being CHEATED !!!
Now is the TIME to GET DONATIONS BACK from Kerry’s Campaign.
It is also urged that Kerry be kicked out from the US Congress.
Many citizens think that He is not for Democrates at all.
He fishes between Democrats and Republican hard-liners.
Take a look at the "Help America Vote Act" .
It is pushing for the "Electronic Voting Machines" all over the country !!
Who owns those millions of "Electronic Voting Machines" ??
According to many investigative reports , they are owned or
controlled by the Rupublican hard-liners and Christians Right
extremists ! Associated Press is also owned and controlled
by the ultra Conservative hard-liners !
They can so easily to "software program" the electronic voting
machines to favor whoever they want him to be elected !!!
Enclosed some very alarming INVESTIGATIVE reports here :
We urge you all to read it why Democracy disappeared in
the "Help America Vote Act" ?

Right now, America do NOT have Democracy .
11 January 2005, 04:42
Everyone needs to open their eyes and realize the MEDIA owns this country! They are the ones in control. They Make the news not report it! They are owned by the Corporations!
Every 4 years we have the biggest REALITY T.V. show of all .. the Presidential Election! We have 2 corporate sponsered candidates, pretending to be opposing each other to allow us to continue to believe we have a Democracy.
The other reason for this "pretend" Presidential Campaign is because guess what happens during these Campaigns.... Tens of MILLIONS of dollars are being spent on advertising, which does quess what? It keeps the Media going!
It’s not about Democracy! It’s about money& power. There is only ONE Party (not Dems & Repubs), and the Media is the only one invited!
11 January 2005, 07:08
I wish I had the answers. I have tried not to judge Kerry (who am I do judge anyone?) and I keep looking at the reality of it. If Kerry had come forward, to whom could he appeal? The White House, the Republican Congress, the same Supreme Court that appointed Bush, a consolidated corporate media that has orchestrated the most staggering suppression of information and propagation of misinformation in the history of the country, an American electorate half of which do not even vote? He would also be facing fanatical and delusional Bush supporters. There is a solid core of these people who actually and fervently believe Bush was appointed by God. Then you have all the others; the uninformed, the misinformed, the unintelligent and those who were the beneficiaries of this fraud.
Those of us who had sufficient interest to persue this information and understand what happened may only number in the tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands. Under these circumstances, if Kerry had come forward, I believe the right wing media machine would have torn him to pieces, remorslessly and utterly. They would have made the swift boat liars look like Kerry’s best friends. All for nothing. Look what the media has already done and cast that forward in your imagination to Kerry coming forward. No matter what he asserted, they would twist it into selfserving lies.
There is ALWAYS a counter argument that can be made, even when that argument is thoroughly deceitful. Every time Kerry brought forward an expert to tell the truth, the right wing media propaganda machine would bring out ten experts to "credibly" refute the truth. The media would provide all the people who did not want to believe the election was a fraud all the "facts" they needed to avoid knowing what happened, millions of others would be confused by the claims, counter claims and so on.
Although I am bitterly disappointed, I do not have any real confidence Kerry would have been able to do anything effective to either claim the Presidency or expose the fraud. I could be wrong but perhaps he felt he could serve us best by staying in place; fighting against the Bush&Co. machine, waiting for this fascist government to finally trip over its own arrogance. If I am correct, imagine the agony Kerry must be experiencing. We should be careful of jumping to conclusions and mindful of our ignorance of the inner workings of such a horrendous and complicated situation.
Finally, We The People bear the greatest burden for what has happened. We fell asleep at the wheel when we forgot maintaining a Democracy requires vigilance. I think it’s pretty cheeky for us to throw all the responsibility upon the shoulders of John Kerry. We are the ones who let this happen and we are the only ones who can fix it. I say everyone write to George Soros and beg him to buy up tv and radio stations dedicated to broadcasting the truth; fact based information secured with solid evidence and reasoning. Everyone who is outraged by what has happened should make it their business to work within their own state to guarantee all future elections are done with paper ballots and transparent auditing.

george soros is a phony- he took his billions and backed kerry. he was part of the plan. they had cointelpro in the 70’s, tactics to deflate the left- you think those in power today would not stoop to the same level? of course they have.
11 January 2005, 14:39
Stop apologizing for Kerry. He stepped forward and misrepresented himself as a leader. No one forced him into that position. Kerry is nowhere near being the scapegoat that you paint him to be - and no one with millions in his bank account will ever know the suffering of the majority of Americans without leadership to rebut and rebuff an evil and vocal, and increasingly shrill, minority. When Kerry picks up a weapon and trains it on the liars and demands, "No more lies," then I will be more inclined to listen to him; until that time, he’s just another ’bleating heart’!

Fire does not put out a fire.
Try water to extinguish the file - it works wonders.
If you would take the time to check, you would see that Kerry has water containers in both hands.
What is in your hands?????
12 January 2005, 01:27
"Fire does not put out a fire." What universe are you from? You are not of this world, and you definitely are not from anywhere near the outdoors. What do you think smoke jumpers use as a tool for fighting wildfires out west? The next time you try to be profound, you might try quoting someone who knows what they are talking about! It is fortunate, indeed, that kerry has water containers in both hands rather than the lives of American people. And what ever is in my hands has nothing to do with what you get a grip on daily with yours!
12 January 2005, 01:44
"Fire does not put out a fire"? Tell that to the smoke jumpers in the mountain west who use ’fire to fight fire’! The next time you want to appear as though you are profound, you might try quoting intelligent people instead of waxing stupidly! Fortunately for all of us, the lives of Americans are not in Kerry’s hands. And even the hands of the disabled are far more reliable than those of your hero!
12 January 2005, 07:23
What is in my hands is a sign that I intend to take to the polls next election that says "I Refuse To Vote In Rigged Elections"....and if every Democrat would do the same the reforms would come.
