Icelandic TV program featuring PM forced off air
By VALUR GUNNARSSON – 1 day ago
REYKJAVIK, Iceland (AP) — A nationally televised meeting between Iceland’s prime minister and other political leaders was forced off the air Wednesday night when angry protesters disrupted the broadcast.
For more than two decades, the leaders of Iceland’s political parties have met every New Year’s Eve over champagne and spiced herring to talk about the year ahead on Iceland’s Channel 2 television.
But (…)

ABC NETWORKS SENDS OUT MEMO TO STEAL SHOW IDEAS
11 July 2008 par (Open-Publishing)
As many writers and creative types already knew, Hollywood’s biggest companies have been stealing copyrighted scripts and shows for years. Now we have the proof. ABC actually sent out a memo telling executives to find show ideas from Europe they could take, so they would not have to pay licensing fees. Why are the FBI and other Copyright enforcers only enforcing the law when it helps the six multinational Studios? Because Congressional members get money from those Multinationals. Will the (…)

Chinese Junk

Strother Martin, in the classic film, "Cool Hand Luke," uttered those immortal words: “What we’ve have here is failure to communicate.” That sums up the current war of words between the Peoples Republic of China and CNN. Part of this situation is pure, heavy-handed, government propaganda, and part is American arrogance, quick to point out the sty in other’s eyes while unwilling to deal with the log in their own. A failure to communicate, based on culture, politics, (…) -

It’s a Small World After All By David Glenn Cox
Here we are on this God forsaken mud ball orbiting a second rate sun on a Cul de Sac set off in a back water solar system, light years from the main road of the universe. Perhaps that’s why some choose to treat us as if we just fell off the proton truck from Pluto. The belief that we literally don’t know the difference between shit and shinola or the difference between impropriety and the appearance of impropriety.
CBS the only American (…) -

The Afghan journalist was rendered unconscious by a taser and taken to a US base where the officers in charge of (…) -

Sally Field: Censored by Fox for political reasons?
Controversy is brewing online over whether Fox TV (owned by the politically conservative Rupert Murdoch) censored Sally Field during her Emmy acceptance speech Sunday night for an obscene word or because she was making an anti-war statement.
Field, who is no stranger to unusual acceptance speeches, said: ""If mothers ruled the world, there wouldn’t be any god ... " when the sound was cut off and the camera cut to other shots from the (…) -

Attytood.com – September 13, 2007
There’s a huge new media scandal breaking this morning, and the headline so far — that a much-used consultant to ABC News published a phony interview with Barak Obama — may well be the tip of the proverbial iceberg. The news about now ex-ABC consultant Alexis Debat (left) is just dribbling out, but I’m surprised people haven’t been connecting the dots. This post will seek to connect a couple of (…) -

Channel Four, producers of the "investigative" programme, Dispatches, have been reported to the industry regulator, Ofcom, by the West Midlands police for undermining community cohesion by misreporting the words of a Muslim preacher at the Birmingham Green Lane mosque.
The preacher, an American Muslim, Abu Usamah, is reported by C4 as having made several racist and homophobic remarks. These, Abu Usamah says, were all taken out of context and, after examining over 50 hours of footage, the (…) -

The Threat to al-Jazeera
by George Galloway
Since its launch just over a decade ago, the al-Jazeera satellite TV station has transformed the politics of the Middle East. For the first time, people in the region had access to a genuinely free and independent source of news and comment that was neither under the control of dictatorial regimes nor western states or corporations. Under its slogan of “The opinion … and the other (…)
