The obviously fraudulent election, combined with the democratic party’s refusal to challenge it, and the news industry’s willingness to cover it up, should be awakening millions to the true nature of how this country is being ruled. Instead, I think that many people find it a lot more comfortable to believe that we’ll have an honest election in 2008, although it doesn’t really look as if we’ll ever have an honest election again.
The illusion of democracy will always (…)

Purge at the CIA You will follow the (neocon) party line, comrade
19 November 2004 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentby Justin Raimondo
Like another empire founded on ideological hubris, and stained with the bloodof countless victims, this one engages in periodic political purges: when one faction is vanquished, mass firings occur in the upper echelons of the bureaucracy. We don’t send them to the gulag - at least, not yet - instead we set them up for public pillorying, firings, and, in some cases, show trials. Such is the fate of the CIA in the post-election triumph of the Bushies.
The news that (…) -

4 comments’Stinking Evidence’ of Possible Election Fraud Found in Florida by Thom Hartmann
There was something odd about the poll tapes.
A "poll tape" is the phrase used to describe a printout from an optical scan voting machine made the evening of an election, after the machine has read all the ballots and crunched the numbers on its internal computer. It shows the total results of the election in that location. The printout is signed by the polling officials present in that precinct/location, (…) -

Now Is Not the Time For National Unity!

A little disunity, please. Let’s get divisive, gang. No national healing-raw wounds, anger and resentment. This is the moment for accusations and recriminations.
As per the routine used by countless other defeated politicians, John Kerry wrapped up a quavering call for unity and oneness inside his tardy concession speech. "In the days ahead, we must find common cause. We must join in common effort," quoth the fallen leader of the failed effort. Yeah, yeah, yeah, (…) -
US Republicans change rule to shield leader if indicted
18 November 2004 par (Open-Publishing)
2 commentsRepublicans in the US House of Representatives have changed their own rules to allow their powerful Majority Leader Tom DeLay to keep his post even if he is indicted in connection with illegal fund-raising activities.
In a closed-door session, they approved the rule change in a voice vote to allow a leader or chairman to keep his post after an indictment. The leadership would then make recommendations, based on whether the indictment was deemed legitimate or politically-motivated.

"Dear Uncle Scrooge: I am a low-income working woman about to retire on Social Security benefits. What should I do?"
Under Bush’s proposed new Social Security plan, you can forget about retiring, dear. Just plan to work ’til you’re 80 and die really really poor.
"Dear Uncle Scrooge: I’m a middle-aged man with lots of bucks. What should I do after George Bush bankrupts the country?"
Too late for that. With a 51-trillion-dollar debt and a horrific balance of payments (…) -
Government looking at military draft lists

It’s taken one year, seven months and 19 days of combat in Iraq for the Lone Star State to lose 100 of its own.
Texas is the second state, after California, to lose 100 service members, according to The Associated Press.
With continuing war in Iraq and U.S. armed forces dispersed to so many other locations around the globe, Americans may be wondering if compulsory military service could begin again for the first time since the Vietnam War era.

Con Job at Diebold Subsidiary

1 commentAt least five convicted felons secured management positions at a manufacturer of electronic voting machines, according to critics demanding more stringent background checks for people responsible for voting machine software.
Voter advocate Bev Harris alleged Tuesday that managers of a subsidiary of Diebold, one of the country’s largest voting equipment vendors, included a cocaine trafficker, a man who conducted fraudulent stock transactions and a programmer jailed for falsifying computer (…)
