Cindy Sheehan wrote: "Memo to Drudge, et al: It’s Not About Me, It’s About the War"
and "Our true mission is to bring attention to the occupation of Iraq and bringing our troops home."
So, it’s time for the crew in Crawford to get on message.
Every Voice in Camp Casey needs to FOCUS- this is not about Cindy - it’s about the war. They’ve made it about Cindy so they can tear her down. So we need to take the message back. This stand in Texas is about exposing the lies and (…)

Folk legend Baez joins protesters near Bush ranch
22 August 2005By Tabassum Zakaria
CRAWFORD, Texas - Folk singer Joan Baez joined anti-war protesters near U.S. President George W. Bush’s ranch on Sunday to meet with military families who want troops pulled out of Iraq.
"You know in the first march I went on against the war in Vietnam there were 10 of us," Baez said as she met with a group of women whose sons died in Iraq or were being deployed there.
"This is huge," she said.
Hundreds of anti-war supporters sat on fold-out chairs under a huge (…) -
Habitual lies to promote a war against the guiltless are pretty telling...
22 August 2005by Mary MacElveen
In June, US president Bush’s spinmeister and advisor Karl Rove had this to say of liberals concerning September 11: “Liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers.”
I still say that this statement is ludicrous and just plain nuts.
I am of the belief we go after those who not only attack us as a nation, but also personally. I am not of the belief of excusing horrific behavior and (…) -

By Greg Moses
Two weeks ago in Crawford, Texas there was a lonely Peace House with payments to make and not much money in the bank. Today, there is not only a Peace House with enough money in the bank to pay it off, but there are two (count ‘em two!) Camp Caseys that now reach out and around the vacation home of the President of the USA, supporting a peace movement that (…) -
Mother tips the balance against Bush
22 August 2005Cindy Sheehan’s vigil outside the President’s ranch has galvanised the anti-war movement - and provoked a vicious political slanging match. Paul Harris reports
Candles were lit all across America last week in one of the largest single anti-war protests in recent US history. At more than 1,600 vigils tens of thousands of protesters gathered in solidarity with the woman who has been the catalyst for the rebirth of the anti-war movement: Cindy Sheehan.
Her remarkable one-woman stand outside (…) -
Pittsburgh Police Arrest Five Anti-War Protesters, Two Injured, in March
22 August 2005by Joe Mandak
PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania - Police charged four people protesting the war in Iraq, two of whom suffered minor injuries from the police response, when 60 people disrupted traffic by marching the wrong way down a busy one-way street toward an Army recruiting station.
The Pittsburgh Organizing Group planned the Saturday morning demonstration. A spokesman for that group, David Meieran, accused police of responding with "inappropriate and excessive force."
Meieran claimed some (…) -
Utah Station Refuses to Air Anti-War Ad
22 August 2005SALT LAKE CITY — A Utah television station is refusing to air an anti-war ad featuring Cindy Sheehan, whose son’s death in Iraq prompted a vigil outside President Bush’s Texas ranch.
The ad began airing on other area stations Saturday, two days before Bush was scheduled to speak in Salt Lake City to the national convention of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
However, a national sales representative for KTVX, a local ABC affiliate, rejected the ad in an e-mail to media buyers, writing that (…) -

The Guardian and the de Menezes killing
22 August 2005By Chris Marsden and Julie Hyland
New leaks from official sources in Britain have added to the evidence already brought to light, proving that the official story of how Brazilian Jean Charles de Menezes was gunned down was a pack of lies. In response, the liberal daily newspaper the Guardian has rushed to the defence of Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Ian Blair, justifying the use of death squads and excusing a cover-up aimed at concealing how the police murdered an innocent man.
