When they start pushing the panic button over "moral values" at the bluest of TV channels, public broadcasting’s WNET, in the bluest of cities, New York, you know this country has entered a new cultural twilight zone.
Just three weeks after the election, Channel 13 killed a spot for the acclaimed movie "Kinsey," in which Liam Neeson stars as the pioneering Indiana University sex researcher who first let Americans know that nonmarital sex is a national pastime, that women (…)

Update on CounterInaugural Demonstration permits
Four years ago as George W. Bush rode in his limousine along the Inaugural parade route, he was met by a sea of vocal protestors and anti-Bush signs. Vividly captured in a dramatic scene from the movie Fahrenheit 9/11, the anti-Bush demonstrators lining the inaugural route on Pennsylvania Avenue became the dominant feature of the inauguration, his first day in office.
On January (…) -
How Iran will fight back
19 December 2004By Kaveh L Afrasiabi
TEHRAN - The United States and Israel may be contemplating military operations against Iran, as per recent media reports, yet Iran is not wasting any time in preparing its own counter-operations in the event an attack materializes.
A week-long combined air and ground maneuver has just concluded in five of the southern and western provinces of Iran, mesmerizing foreign observers, who have described as "spectacular" the massive display of high-tech, mobile (…) -
Cuba Erects Sign Linking U.S. and Nazis
19 December 2004by VANESSA ARRINGTON
HAVANA - Cuba retaliated for the U.S. diplomatic mission’s Christmas display supporting Cuban dissidents by putting up a billboard Friday emblazoned with photographs of American soldiers abusing Iraqi prisoners and a huge swastika overlaid with a "Made in the U.S.A" stamp.
The billboard, erected overnight facing the U.S. Interest Section’s offices, stands on the Malecon, Havana’s famed coastal highway.
A diplomat at the mission noted the abuse of prisoners at (…) -

Ohio recount- Cuyahoga County ballots pre-sorted
18 December 2004Anomalies were found. Almost all of the witnesses that I spoke with felt that the ballots were not in random order, that they had been previously sorted. There would be long spurts of votes for only one candidate and then long spurts for another, which seemed statistically improbable to most.
From what they were able to get through, witnesses found that signature counts were very much different from the official recorded number of ballots.
At the time of the orientation, Jacqui Maiden (…) -
John Kerry trying to undermine, delegitimize and minimize the Ohio recount
18 December 2004In an exclusive interview with RAW STORY Friday, the Green Party’s presidential candidate David Cobb lashed out at Sen. John Kerry, saying he Democratic nominee has tried to “undermine,” “delegitimize” and “minimize” the Ohio recount.
Cobb, who ran an unsuccessful bid for president, is at the vanguard of the Ohio recount. The Green and Libertarian Parties raised tens of thousands of dollars to pay for the recount and put county observers on the ground.
Meanwhile, Cobb observed, Kerry has (…) -
US accused of spying on UN Security Council delegates

U.S. - A Call for a New Election
17 December 2004Currently, there is a big hue and cry on the part of the Green and Libertarian Parties, and Nader to count all the votes. I am in favor of this, as it will undoubtedly disclose major differences between false vote counts reported in the media - like 3.5 million more votes nationally for Bush than Kerry; 136,000 more for Bush than Kerry in Ohio, and other such inaccurate data. Counting every vote, just in the state of Ohio, will reveal one more lie the Bush government and a pliant press has (…)
