"Every investigation has been suppressed by the Bush Administration and I am one Republican that is watching closely at how many Democrats are just rolling over for it - the Iraq lies, 9-11 and who did it and why, the Valeria Plame matter, the Afghanistan pipeline, the Aqaba pipeline, the privatization of Iraqi assets that is infuriating the Iraqis, and many more misdeeds that are not being looked into and the truth being put on the table (…)

Fallujah, the sequel : preparing for Butchery
9 November 2004by Maarten Vanheuverswyn
The war drums are being beaten once again in Fallujah. After the siege in April this year, the city will again be the scene of an onslaught, probably bigger than last time. Life has almost come to a standstill as thousands of people are fleeing their houses. During the last weeks, the US forces stepped up their daily air raids while at the same time applying heavy psychological warfare tactics. Threatening to crush the resistance, US imperialism is now actually (…) -
Thoughts on the American elections
9 November 2004By Alan Woods, London
America’s presidential election is over and George Bush won. The result has caused a lot of disappointment, or even despair, both in the USA and on a world scale. On the face of it, the situation seems to justify the most pessimistic interpretation. The President won a clear majority of the vote. The Democrats achieved a huge turnout, but the Republicans managed to get still more. In addition to securing his re-election, Bush now has a much firmer grip on Congress. (…) -
Yasser Arafat : a Man and his People
9 November 2004by Uri Avnery
Wherever he may be buried when he passes away, the day will come when his remains will be reinterred by a free Palestinian government in the holy shrines in Jerusalem.
Yasser Arafat is one of the generation of great leaders who arose after World War II.
The stature of a leader is not simply determined by the size of his achievements, but also by the size of the obstacles he had to overcome. In this respect, Arafat has no competitor in the world: no leader of our (…) -
Coyotes Roam, Not Far from U.S. White House
9 November 2004November 08, 2004 - By Deborah Zabarenko, Reuters
WASHINGTON − Coyotes, the rangy animals associated with the American West, have been spotted in the U.S. capital for the first time, sparking gossip in precincts where talk usually turns on politics.
"On our way home from a party tonight, my son spotted a coyote trotting amongst the trees," one writer said in an e-mail group for one of Washington’s tonier sections.
"One ran across Military (Road). No question, a healthy smallish (…) -

It is so important to find out the truth
9 November 2004by Susan F.
Many people will probably say that in this age of terrorism, we cannot have a dispute about who is president.
I think there is nothing more important than to do what is needed to get to the bottom of this and to obtain fair election results. This is not a matter that can be ignored this time around. The consequences of a Bush reign could be more serious to America’s future than anything else. -
The Democratic party e-mailed me a survey about the election 2004. Here’s my reply

Election Feedback
Please take a few minutes to complete our Election 2004 survey.
1. How did you participate in this election? I made phone calls, canvassed, sent articles to family and friends, fought with my sister, alienated an old friend, talked and read and talked and read and talked some more, I went to rallies, and got my teenagers, friends and family involved. I went to meetings, joined progressive organizations and I gave more money than I ever have in (…) -
Who will be America’s NEXT TOP CHRISTIAN? (Jesus need not apply)
9 November 2004by Jane Stillwater
In Los Angeles, they have a TV show called "Pimp My Ride". In the red states they have a TV show called "Pimp My God". Jesus need not apply.
Am I bitter or what? When I was a little kid, I LOVED being a Christian. Couldn’t WAIT to go to church. I just loved all that stuff about loving one’s neighbor and turning the other cheek. Yeah right. Then slowly I began to see what hypocrites that Christians were. I stopped going to church for a whole bunch of years. And then I (…) -
Open letter to Senator John Kerry
9 November 2004by Donna LoCicero
Dear Senator Kerry,
I’ve figured out that the reason this feels so awful, so surreal isn’t just because we lost. This isn’t loss. Every Democrat knows what loss feels like. This is something worse. This is theft - theft of our sacred right of voting and thereby, the hijacking of our country.
I want you to know that even though the mainstream media isn’t reporting much of this, a growing army of people believes this. We are determined to unravel this crime... and I can (…)
