The movement for a cultural boycott of Israel in response to its treatment of the Palestinians, modelled on the boycott of apartheid South Africa, could eclipse decades of disingenuous political charades in engaging western intellectuals, academics and artists. Internationally renowned figures such as Naomi Klein and Ken Loach have supported the call, and now one of Britain’s most successful bands, Massive Attack, is publicly backing the boycott.
“I’ve always felt that it’s the only way (…)

The oil crisis of the global food crisis
6 September 2010The world’s daily oil consumption would be 30 billion barrels per year (almost double the oil reserves of Mexico) which represents aa say that every half year, the world reserves phagocytoses a major oil producer and energy alternatives still need massive subsidies to be viable in developing countries, which together with the hydrogen technology (sort of philosopher’s stone that will solve the energy problems of mankind), is still nascent and the inertia of the assets oil will not allow (…)

5 September 2010VIDEO: Pentagon’s Half-Billion-Dollar PR Budget to Sell Afghan War
by grtv
$547 million. That’s the Pentagon’s P.R. budget. They’re using it to spread mistruths and misplaced hope in ‘progress’ with one goal in mind: to extend the brutal, costly Afghanistan War.
General Petraeus’ media blitz is only the tip of the iceberg in the Pentagon’s effort to sell war to the American people. The Defense Department has a budget of more than $500 million for public relations efforts directed at (…) -

5 September 2010The Imperial Anatomy of Al-Qaeda. The CIA’s Drug-Running Terrorists and the “Arc of Crisis” Part I
by Andrew Gavin Marshall Global Research, September 5, 2010
Introduction As the 9th anniversary of 9/11 nears, and the war on terror continues to be waged and grows in ferocity and geography, it seems all the more imperative to return to the events of that fateful September morning and re-examine the reasons for war and the nature of the stated culprit, Al-Qaeda. The events of 9/11 (…) -

When Quantitative Easing Has Run Its Course and Fails
by Matthias Chang Global Research, August 31, 2010 Future Fast Forward
Readers of my articles will recall that I have warned as far back as December 2006, that the global banks will collapse when the Financial Tsunami hits the global economy in 2007. And as they say, the rest is history.
Quantitative Easing (QE (…) -

5 September 2010Bankrupt Miami in Fiscal Emergency, Breaks Employee Contracts, Hikes Property Taxes
Mike "Mish" Shedlock | Aug. 31, 2010 Miami is bankrupt. Unfortunately the city refuses to admit it. In an enormously foolhardy attempt to make ends meet, in spite of the fact that Miami home prices have been hammered and 1-in-8 are unemployed, the County keeps pouring on the painful tax and fee increases.
As you recoil from your tax warning notice today, ponder this: those multiple tax hikes aren’t the (…) -
Australia’s hung Parliament forshadows Afghan War Debate - yet "The Age" already censors the Awful Truth
5 September 2010With the hung Parliament result in the recent Australian Federal Election a major crack has appeared in the US Alliance edifice of lies, propaganda and deception over 9-11, the War on Terror and the horrendously deadly, 8 million-victim wars of occupation still being waged in Occupied Iraq, Occupied Afghanistan (and elsewhere).

Towards an uneasy peace in the Middle East?
4 September 2010The new strategy of the Obama Administration’s Middle East seek to deepen the lines of negotiation "multilateral" (including the opening of a direct line to the Tehran regime and the establishment of an Arab ally in front, to isolate the hawks militarists, both Tehran and Tel Aviv) and would be further supported in the new UN sanctions on Iran with the aim of achieving real weakening of the Iranian economy and the possible revival of the "Green Tide" and supplemented with measures of (…)

Labor Day and the Easter Bunny
3 September 2010Monday is Labor Day, a national holiday in America that’s come to be as meaningless as the Easter bunny. It is a holiday that millions of Americans struggled to bring into existence. Hundreds more died or were maimed or beaten, they were bloodied but they were not bent. They were shot at by national guardsman, policeman, sheriffs and hired thugs but were not turned back. They were turned out of their company houses during snowstorms. They had firehoses turned on them in subfreezing (…)
