The visit by US Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman Admiral Mike Mullen to Israel yesterday is one more indication that the two countries are actively discussing a military strike on Iran. Mullen’s trip followed news that the Israeli air force carried out a major exercise earlier this month involving 100 fighter jets, backed by midair fuel tankers and rescue helicopters, flying some 1,500 kilometres westward over the Mediterranean (…)

No Ice At The North Pole/Polar Bears disappearing
29 June 2008By Steve Connor
It seems unthinkable, but for the first time in human history, ice is on course to disappear entirely from the North Pole this year.
The disappearance of the Arctic sea ice, making it possible to reach the Pole sailing in a boat through open water, would be one of the most dramatic – and worrying – examples of the impact of global warming on the planet. Scientists say the ice at 90 degrees north may well have melted away by the summer.

Honeybees: Worsening epidemic of Colony Collapse by Pr Joe Cummins (ISIS)
28 June 2008To Bee Organic or not to Bee by Pr Joe Cummins
Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD), a growing scourge of honeybees has struck again this year. The United Sates Department of Agriculture (USDA) reported a 36 percent loss of colonies in managed hives over the winter, up 13.5 percent from the previous year [1]. USDA has yet to identify a single pathogen responsible for the disease, and has finally begun to study the interaction between pesticides and viruses or varroa mites as possible causes [2]. (…) -
Zimbabwe at War
28 June 2008Zimbabwe is at war with a western agenda of regime change. A systematic destabilization campaign is underway having nothing to do with "democracy" in Zimbabwe and everything to do with facilitating Western interests. The "evil dictator" Mugabe stands in the way of this plan.

City Hall Scandal Hits Baltimore After “The Wire” Exits
28 June 2008“Life imitates art far more than art imitates life.” - Oscar Wilde
Baltimore, MD - A corruption scandal recently surfaced at City Hall. It centers on the Mayor, Sheila Dixon, and charges of bribery. Fur coats and a couple of trips out of town as gifts are supposedly involved, according to published reports. The dollar amount doesn’t seem significant. (1) We’re not talking about a Jack Abramoff-Let’s-Buy-a-Congressman-scheme here, folks. (2)
I’m sorry that the HBO show, “The Wire,” just (…) -
Video: Are the Democrats Going to Keep Their Word?
28 June 2008The Democrats, during the 2006 Congressional elections, promised the American people that if they won control of the U.S. Congress that they would end the Iraq War. The voters trusted them. And, the Democrats did, in 2007, take control of the Congress. When, if ever, are the Democrats going to keep their word? As of June 27, 2008, 4,113 U.S. troops have died in the Iraq War. The cost of the conflict to the American taxpayers is estimated at $3 trillion.

Monsanto and the other major biotech companies – Syngenta, Bunge, Cargill, etc. – are all set on owning the world’s food supply. Monsanto is by far the leader in this nightmare of destroying organic agriculture and millennia-old biodiversity.
They have no respect whatsoever for the lives and the livelihood of farmers or, for that matter, any concern for the people who are exposed to severe health hazards from eating (…) -
Was the incident that marred Sarkozy’s exit a suicide or assassination try?
27 June 2008Something went terribly wrong on Tuesday afternoon, at the departure ceremony for French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife Carla Bruni, at Ben Gurion International Airport in Israel.
The band had just started up its loud farewell repertoire. Sarkozy, President Shimon Peres and Prime Minister Olmert clasped hands in unity for the cameras.
Suddenly a shot was heard, or not heard, depending on where you were standing. Radios came alive and there was a flurry of activity. Bodyguards did (…) -

The sugar coated bullets of the "free market" are killing our children. The act to kill is unpremeditated. It is instrumented in a detached fashion through computer program trading on the New York and Chicago mercantile exchanges, where the global prices of rice, wheat and corn are decided upon. (…) -

John Bolton, the former American ambassador to the United Nations, has predicted that Israel could attack Iran after the November presidential election but before George W Bush’s successor is sworn in.
The Arab world would be “pleased” by Israeli strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities, he said in an interview with The (…)
