It seems unthinkable, but for the first time in human history, ice is on course to disappear entirely from the North Pole this year.
The disappearance of the Arctic sea ice, making it possible to reach the Pole sailing in a boat through open water, would be one of the most dramatic – and worrying – examples of the impact of global warming on the planet. Baltimore, MD - A corruption scandal recently surfaced at City Hall. It centers on the Mayor, Sheila Dixon, and charges of bribery. Fur coats and a couple of trips out of town as gifts are supposedly involved, according to published reports. The dollar amount doesn’t seem significant. The Democrats, during the 2006 Congressional elections, promised the American people that if they won control of the U.S. Congress that they would end the Iraq War. The voters trusted them. And, the Democrats did, in 2007, take control of the Congress. When, if ever, are the Democrats going to keep their word? As of June 27, 2008, 4,113 U.S. troops have died in the Iraq War. The cost of the conflict to the American taxpayers is estimated at $3 trillion.

Something went terribly wrong on Tuesday afternoon, at the departure ceremony for French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife Carla Bruni, at Ben Gurion International Airport in Israel.
