“Sen. Mikulski has violated her oath of office!” - Ms. Diane Wittner of the Chesapeake Citizens, a peace advocacy group. (1)
You could see it coming a block away! I’m talking about the Democrats’ cynical gambit for capturing the White House in 2008! It goes like this: Let the Iraq War drag on and on, with our brave troops dying daily in combat, and/or sustaining serious injuries; but, don’t do anything to stop the funding for the conflict. Then, blame the horrific results of the war on (…)

THE BUTCHER’S APRON
27 December 2007Elections & Voting The butcher’s apron By Mike Whitney Online Journal Contributing Writer
Dec 27, 2007, 00:45
Every four years the country is swept up in the pomp and pageantry of presidential elections. And every four years loyal Americans flock to the voting booths to select the candidate of their choice. Elections, we are told, are the true expression of democratic government. But they aren’t. They’re a sham and most people know it. The balloting creates the illusion of choice (…) -

IRAQ-Looking Back: ’INTERNATIONALLY SPONSOREDS GENOCIDE, by Felicity ARBUTHNOT
27 December 2007Editors have a mantra, do not look back, move on, write what is current. But sometimes looking back is vital. Those who ignore even the recent past are doomed to understand nothing, sink deeper into quagmires - and bleat again : ’Why do they hate us’ ?
Looking through material for the book that has been far too long in the making, I found a copy of a letter which I sent to a prominent (UK) Member of Parliament. It is dated November 1993 and clarifies for ever why the invaders were never (…) -
Berlin Commune Fights the Property Developers
26 December 2007The Köpi in Berlin is famous as one of the last remaining remnants of the city’s squat culture from the early 1990s. The building, which is in a desirable location, has now been sold to a property developer — but the residents aren’t giving up without a fight.

They sat down together just like every week, but this time the mood was (…) -
US Officials See Waste in Billions Sent to Pakistan
26 December 2007The US has poured billions into Pakistan’s struggle against Al Qaeda and the Taliban. But some American officials are now saying that Washington got too little for its money. And that much of the funding may have been misappropriated. Dov Zakheim, who served as the Pentagon’s top financial officer until 2004 and helped set up the program in late 2001, said in a telephone interview that while he was at the department, the military carefully checked whether Pakistan carried out the operations (…)

A Peace-killing Linkage, De-linkage
26 December 2007By Nicola Nasser*
Linking the “aliyah” to what the Jewish literature has been describing as Eretz Israel or Yisrael HaShleima (Greater Israel) to the Israeli colonial settlement of the Palestinian land, which the Hebrew state occupied in 1967, while at the same time negating the Palestinian Right of Return, is torpedoing whatever prospect is left for a peaceful solution for the Arab – Israeli conflict, undermining the latest U.S.-sponsored launch of the Palestinian - Israeli talks in (…) -

Christmas Greetings
25 December 2007It has come to my attention that many Christians are spending their Christmas begging for forgiveness. This does so infuriate me, after I already sent my son and crucified him to pay for the sins of the world. These Christians are just so ungrateful for everything I have done for them. It just seems like I am wasting my time.
I have decided that Christians need to suffer some more. I want them all nailed to crosses and the world has until Easter to comply. If this is not done, my wrath (…)
