A recent report from the Oxford-based Global Canopy Programme states that while the “transport and industry” sector accounts for 14 percent of global CO2 emissions, deforestation accounts for up to 25 per cent of greenhouse gasses released into the atmosphere.
The urgency implied in the statistics presented in this report can not be over emphasized. Deforestation “in the next four years alone”, will “pump more CO2 into the atmosphere than every flight in the history of (…)

Blair’s Kaleidoscope Dystopia
20 May 2007Significantly, one of the last things that Tony Blair does before finally quitting (don’t believe it until it happens) is to go off to greet the British military occupation on a rah-rah tour in Iraq. A mortar attack was made on the British Embassy but unfortunately missed hitting Blair who went on to give a heart-rending speech on what a great job ’Our Boys’ were doing defending good ol’ Freedom ’n’ Democracy and making the Matrix World a safer place to live, blah, blah, blah.
Meantime, (…) -
The Silent Scream: Might as well be dead?
20 May 2007"Is all that we see or seem but a dream within a dream?"....Edgar Allen Poe
Some soldiers are luckier than others, that’s for damned sure. Many have been ordered back to the Zone for up to 4 additional tours in Hell. They comply, and in general they don’t complain; but they do wonder if this crazy military adventure/holy war is important enough to die for. Some who do just that never resolved the question.
Thousands come home on stretchers, and hundreds more in boxes. Few are seen but all (…) -

The ’rules’ of American capitalism
19 May 2007by David R. Hoffman
I am the voice of the voiceless. I am the exploited, powerless against the machinations of the exploiter. I am the honest, so my truth will be used against me. I am the victim of capitalism in America.
Capitalism in America is covertly governed by three unwritten rules. The first two rules work in tandem: 1). Treat others the way you would NOT want to be treated; 2). Always measure the value of human beings by your self-interest, not theirs.
In 1991, the company (…) -
Liar’s Primer
18 May 2007Having been a kid and now having been a parent I’m consider myself somewhat of an expert on the subject of lying. There are certain ground rules followed by even the most accomplished liars children, politicians, lawyers, newspaper editors everyone in the trade. First of all it’s never their fault they will never accept responsibility for anything associated with the calamity, “I wanted to be home on time Dad but I was riding with the guys and they promised me we’d be back on time.” Or (…)

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — (OfficialWire) — 05/18/07 — How many times have you check your website’s Alexa Ranking? You know you have. For any self-respecting webmaster, it’s not the size, but the "rank" that matters. And for many people, Alexa Internet is the tool by which they measure their success.
Well, we got curious. We started searching the Internet for answers to our questions:
* Is it possible to manipulate Alexa? * Is toolbar manipulation (…) -
Israeli banks profit from Holocaust
18 May 2007TUESDAY, DECEMBER 07, 2004 16:49 MECCA TIME, 13:49 GMT By Jonathan Cook in Jerusalem
Investigations by the Israeli parliament have dug up disturbing evidence that Israel has been profiting for decades from vast sums invested in local banks by European Jews who died in the Nazi death camps. Banks object to how Holocaust assets have been calculated
And even now the banks are delaying returning the money to their heirs.
But unlike a similar scandal that hit European banks in the (…) -

Rebellion By US Forces In Iraq Prompts ‘Rapid’ Pentagon Crackdown
17 May 2007May 17, 2007
By: Sorcha Faal, and as reported to her Western Subscribers
Reports from Russian Military Analysts are describing what they term as a ‘rapidly declining will-to-fight” among American Soldiers fighting in Iraq, with the greatest concern being placed upon US Soldiers from the 10th Mountain Division who reportedly this past week refused orders to ‘take to field’ against their Iraqi insurgent enemies.
According to these reports, the unprecedented rebellion against their (…)
