Israel continued its military offensive in Lebanon today, killing at least 19 people, despite a United Nations resolution for a ceasefire, passed unanimously last night.

Have I missed something? From the current news reports about the "foiled" bomb plot" in the UK, I haven’t seen any smoking guns. Does any of this evidence exist? Did the authorities find any explosive devices actually assembled by the accused "terrorists"? Did any of the accused buy airline tickets? Today we all saw Condi Rice speak at the U.N. and propose the WEAK resolution (which passed 15-0 in favor), for cessation of hostilities and the influx of approx. 20,000 Lebanese troops to control South Lebanon.
Hint: It won’t work. This is just a face-saving move for UN members to salve their collective consciences. They knew they had to finally do something, so they did. Lip service and hope.
