19 March 2006March 18 & 19, 2006 will mark the third anniversary of the invasion of Iraq. The Troops Out Now Coalition calls on the entire antiwar community at the local and national level to rise above anything that would hinder the unity that the world and history demands of us. 16/3: The US military has launched the biggest air attack on Iraq since the 2003 invasion
19 March 2006US Iraq campaign ’to last days’ The US military says a major operation targeting suspected insurgents and foreign fighters in northern Iraq could continue for several days.
They describe it as the biggest airborne operation in the country since the US invasion in 2003, involving more than 50 aircraft and 1,500 troops.
But correspondents are sceptical, saying the operation, near Samarra, is not as huge as has been suggested.
No air power has been used and it is unclear if there have (…) -
UK-US Wars on Iraq & Afghanistan have COST 2.7 MILLION excess deaths & $1-2 TRILLION
19 March 2006UK-US WARS ON IRAQ & AFGHANISTAN HAVE COST (so far) 2.7 MILLION EXCESS DEATHS & US$ 1-2 TRILLION
18 MARCH 2006 is the THIRD ANNIVERSARY of the US-LED INVASION OF IRAQ. It has been marked by demonstrations around the world. However, lying, racist, holocaust-denying mainstream media continue to IGNORE the FUNDAMENTAL QUESTION - WHAT has been the HUMAN COST of Bush’s Wars?
IN SUMMARY, the HUMAN COST has been a total of 2.7 million excess deaths (so far) and the ECONOMIC COST to the (…) -
"We the People Refuse to Fight": Abandon the Battlefield! Disobey Unlawful Orders
19 March 2006On the Third anniversary of the illegal invasion of Iraq, the Antiwar movement is calling upon the Bush Administration to "Bring the Troops Home Now".
"Bring the Troops Home Now" is a strong yet ambiguous statement because it accepts the legitimacy of the Commander in Chief who is entrusted in making that decision.
The war is illegal and criminal. Irrespective of the Commander in Chief’s decision, US and coalition troops have a moral and legal obligation to "Abandon the Battlefield" and (…) -
American Newspapers all ought to be renamed: US OFFICIALS SAY
19 March 200603/18/06 "The Independent" — — It is a bright winter morning and I am sipping my first coffee of the day in Los Angeles. My eye moves like a radar beam over the front page of the Los Angeles Times for the word that dominates the minds of all Middle East correspondents: Iraq. In post-invasion, post-Judith Miller mode, the American press is supposed to be challenging the lies of this war. So the story beneath the headline "In a Battle of Wits, Iraq’s Insurgency Mastermind Stays a Step Ahead (…)

WRITE ABC TV ABOUT "BOSTON LEGAL"
18 March 2006Needless to say, the warhawks and Bushistas are trying to flood ABC with negative messages about the James Spader monologue on Boston Legal. They are out to make sure the speech never appears in reruns. If you agreed with the speech, if you applaud the stand for the Constitution expressed in the show, if you want to encourage mainstream media to finally exercise their role as watchdog on government abuse, even if it is in a drama, then YOU NEED TO WRITE IN AND SUPPORT THE SHOW.

IF THIS IS JOURNALISM....
18 March 2006The Italian daily La Repubblica in its Monday March 13 edition has dedicated an entire page to a bit of news that simply does not exist. In substance-the article is not available online-the usual Omero Ciai’s fanciful pen holds that since an exodus of biblical proportions of Cuban baseball players toward the US is now in progress, the perfidious Fidel Castro would like to extirpate baseball from Cuba and substitute it with cricket.
Omero Ciai goes on for an entire pagelet with his little (…)
