Columbus, Ohio Protests Third Anniversary of the War That Should Have Never Been
20 March 2006 -
The Bolton archipelago By Ian Williams
20 March 2006A UN General Assembly vote on establishing the new Human Rights Council is a fairly devastating comment on current US global prestige as well as the effectiveness of diplomacy as practiced by US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton.
The vote to replace the largely discredited Commission on Human Rights with the new council was 170-4, with the United States,
Israel, the Marshall Islands and Palau voting against the resolution and with three abstentions.
While the US has said much about the (…) -
No pre-emptive Chernobyl in Iran!!!
20 March 2006Nuclear Bunker Buster Bombs againt Iran: Madness
Stephen M. Osborn
The latest information I have had from the followers of Bush is that he has demanded and received permission to use nuclear “bunker busters” in Iran in a preemptive strike. As a nuclear veteran (Operation Redwing, Bikini, 1956) I can affirm that this is absolute madness. The “bunker buster” is a cute sounding name for a nuclear horror. Air bursts are horrible enough, doing incredible destruction through heat, shock and (…) -
Unions pile pressure on Villepin with threat of a national strike action
20 March 2006By John Lichfield
After a weekend of mass student demonstrations and scattered street battles, the French government faces the prospect of a prolonged social crisis unless it suspends its new youth jobs rules.
Smelling political blood, trade union leaders will consider calls for a national strike unless the Prime Minister, Dominique de Villepin, withdraws his "easy hire, easy fire" law for young, first-time, job-seekers.
More than a million students, sixth-formers and sympathisers (…) -
NEW BUSH STRATEGY FOR VICTORY
20 March 2006NEW BUSH STRATEGY FOR VICTORY
By Peter Fredson
March 20, 2006
George W. Bush, trying hard to please the American public, seems to have hit upon a brilliant idea to revive the fading polls of his popularity. He has decided to give a speech, perhaps two or three or a dozen. In this way he can try through soporific means, to lull the public and give them a look inside of his fantasy life. It worked well several years ago, and his polls shot up several points.
It is true that he has (…) -

20 March 2006France, Marseille - March 18th 2006 - Organisers have reported over 130,000 demonstrators in the City of Marseille this afternoon, the largest demonstration outside Paris. The demonstration left the Porte D`Aix, under Marseilles own Arc de Triomphe at 3 p.m. to take a circular route around the city to arrive at the Vieux Port.
As the crowds dispersed a small group of youths then left the main group and succeeded in entering the City Hall overlooking the port. To applause from others they (…) -
’ PROGRESSIVE ’ NEOCONS : `WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR YEAR STRATEGERY "
20 March 2006The Neoconservative/ ’Progressive’ /DLC bloggers and certain ’kept’ journos , all the usual suspects, are rallying behind Dicktator Cheney and his ward Master Bush , employing the Wait til Next Year Strategery ... The BS line goes as follows ...... Don’t challenge the two usurpers until next year - after the Dems retake control of the House.... Such BULLSH*T !..... Why ? Hophead Rush Limbaugh may stir up the GOP base in the months leading up to the midterms by casting Resident (…)

Where’s the Opposition?
20 March 2006Nancy Pelosi says No Plan for Iraq is a good thing. Does this make any sense coming from the "opposition" "leader"?
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said yesterday ( Jan 06) that Democrats should not seek a unified position on an exit strategy in Iraq.. differing positions within the caucus are a source of strength for the party.
That’s the opposition leader in the house.
Harry Reid- the Senate Opposition Leader:
John Kerry- the man who was fighting to take back America (…) -
Advice to Karl Rove: Try this for the Bush Library
20 March 2006Let’s face it, in just 2 1/2 years George Bush will begin constrution on his own Presidential Museum, and he’ll be desperately needing some main feature for the school children and "scholars" of future generations to study.
I suggest a feature length video, edited from TV coverage, designed to show our "noble" president in the very best light.
Just as we rewrote American history for the school kids in the past (many textbooks from the 30s and 40s remain essentially unchanged to this (…) -
