Students invade Paris school
Scores of angry students and other demonstrators invaded one of Paris’ most elite schools on Monday and clashed with police in a new escalation of protests against the government’s youth jobs plan.
About 200 high school and university students swarmed into the College de France to press their demand that Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin withdraw a plan that they fear will hurt job security.
The protests came a day after Villepin, hoping to defuse the (…)

Dear Democrat/ Republicans Failing to Represent the People of America,
14 March 2006Dear Democrat/ Republicans Failing to Represent the People of America,
Just a note to let you know that We the People despise your methods more each day. You have repeatedly disrespected the laws of the land, misused our military; and even the stripped away the very privacy of Americans who respectfully disagree with your legally baseless decisions. You gloss over each and every issue that should be carefully inspected.
From 9/11, to defending the Constitution, to spying on Americans, (…) -

Bush’s Roadblock at the Security Council by Mike Whitney
Surveys were conducted months before the war on Iraq which showed that the American people would only support the conflict if there was a danger that Saddam was developing nuclear weapons. Other questions in the poll addressed the issues of humanitarian intervention, Saddam’s abysmal human rights record, and the prospect that Iraq had stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons.
None of these other potential (…) -

Chief Joseph and the "Rule of Law"
14 March 2006"Let me be a free man, free to travel, free to stop, free to work, free to trade where I choose, free to choose my own teachers, free to follow the religion of my fathers, free to talk, think and react for myself....and I will obey every law or submit to the penalty"...Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce.
Note that the wisdom of this great Native American icon most closely parallels the basic tenets of our US Constitution. Of particular interest is that last statement "I will obey every law...." (…) -
THE RAPING OF IRAQ
14 March 2006THE RAPING OF IRAQ
By Peter Fredson
March 14, 2006
Years ago, in Central Park, a young woman was jogging when a gang of thugs waylaid her. They beat her, then raped her, and stole whatever she had of value. They felt victorious and gleefully encouraged their companions to rape her again. A truly jolly crew.
They were eventually brought to justice, but meanwhile no jogger felt safe.
There is an analogous situation with the Bush cabinet and Iraq. The Bush thugs waylaid Iraq, beat (…) -
When Propaganda Controls America’s Thinking
14 March 2006“An Arab company is going to take over the port! More at 11...” - (A highly agitated news reader on a local TV station.)
Baltimore, MD - It was painful to listen to the disinformation about the deal which would have allowed the Dubai Ports World company of the United Arab Emirates to handle the stevedoring operations in six U.S., ports, including Baltimore’s. The voices coming from the TV screen, usually dripping with hysteria, would screech: “An Arab company is going to take over the (…) -

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Saddam Hussein’s former vice president testified Monday that U.S. troops kicked and beat him for two weeks after his arrest in August 2003, in an effort to force him to tell them where Saddam was hiding.
Taha Yassin Ramadan, who’s being tried with Saddam and five others for murder and other crimes, said interrogators also forced him to walk continually, (…) -
CHENEY : RULE BY IMPERIAL DICKTAT
14 March 2006Cheney’s riposte to Feingold’s censure movement was more of the same.... Support us and our rule by imperial decree or You’re with "Al Qaeda" . What a tiresome refrain..... Still justifying massive crimes against the Constitution - by hiding under the horror of 9/11...... Yesterday Cheney claimed the illegal domestic spying programme was "lawful". Cheney’s copy of the Constitution apparently omits the Fourth Ammendment of that document . Little wonder his ward Master Bush (…)
