Prié de dire si les événements au Japon auraient un impact négatif sur cette filière, il a répondu : "Je ne crois pas."

Le circuit de refroidissement du réacteur No 2 de la centrale atomique de Fukushima, endommagée par le séisme et le tsunami de vendredi dans le nord-est du Japon, a cessé de fonctionner lundi, a annoncé l’agence de presse Jiji. Le niveau d’eau à l’intérieur est en train de diminuer.

L’institut de radioprotection et de sûreté nucléaire (IRSN) a annoncé dimanche que "des rejets (radioactifs) très importants" se sont "produits simultanément à l’explosion" samedi du bâtiment du réacteur n°1 de la centrale de Fukushima.
"Lors de l’explosion le débit de dose à la limite du site aurait atteint 1 millisievert par heure (mSv/h)", indique l’IRSN, "valeur à comparer à l’ordre de grandeur de la radioactivité naturelle qui est de 0,0001 mSv/h".

Le système de refroidissement de la centrale de Tokai serait en panne, laissant craindre une nouvelle explosion. Plus tôt, l’état d’urgence avait été déclaré pour la centrale d’Onagawa, alors que des doutes subsistait toujours pour le réacteur n°3 de Fukushima.
Le système de refroidissement de la centrale de Tokai s’est arrêté dimanche 13 mars, laissant craindre une nouvelle explosion, d’après l’agence de presse japonaise Kyodo.

L’état d’urgence est déclaré dans une deuxième centrale nucléaire touchée par le fort séisme qui a frappé le Japon vendredi, et où un niveau élevé de radioactivité a été enregistré, annonce l’Agence internationale de l’énergie atomique (AIEA).
Il s’agit de la centrale d’Onagawa.

Le premier, "actuellement privilégié", prévoit la mise sous contrôle des centrales défectueuses, ce qui présente "un risque négligeable pour l’agglomération de Tokyo".
Le scénario le plus grave envisage "l’explosion d’un réacteur avec dégagement d’un panache radioactif".
"Ce panache peut être sur Tokyo dans un délai de quelques heures, en fonction du sens et de la vitesse du vent. Le risque est celui d’une contamination", (…) -
