Iraq: Civil War or "Divide and Conquer"

Wars and conflicts International USA

Everyday the US Corporate Media bombards America with the "huge spike in violence" that inevitably means that Iraq is descending into civil war. We’re told there are two choices, it’s a civil war, or its "al Qaeda" - but there is a third option the corporate media refuses to utter.

Even high-school slackers have heard of the age-old strategy "Divide and Conquer". Is it possible that there are outside forces working this strategy in Iraq today? Perhaps rogue elements inside some government(s) would like to conquer Iraq for the oil, permanent bases, strategic position, etc.

Why is it that nobody in the TV news world can utter this possibility? Is it really that outrageous to think that perhaps the same people that lied to launch the war, are still lying today to prolong the war?

Let’s look at a few "under-reported" stories:

The question: Is it possible that "Divide and Conquer" is a strategy being employed by our own government, not just Bush and the Republicons, but also by the majority of DC Democrats. Is it possible that this is a war of conquest, and Americans are the modern day equivalent of the "good germans" duped by the gov’t propaganda.

Is it possible that millions of Americans are "willfully ignorant", accepting the lies because it’s so much easier than confronting the fact that they’ve been supporting murderers and liars.

ps- dont’ forget about the numerous polls indicating that

MOST Iraqis want US Troops to leave.

Still believe it’s a Civil War? One last factoid to consider:
Out of Iraq’s 6.5 million married couples, 2 million are Sunni-Shia unions

  • Come on, this fake ’War on Terror’ was from the very beginning, a war of aggression, a war to conquer and occupy an innocent and decimated nation strictly to gain control of its primary natural resource, oil. Any other explanation for this war is sheer propaganda.

Terrorism has been a bane of humanity for centuries, and any attempt to combat it strictly through the use of military force is as futile as the other fake wars our greedy, rapacious political class has dreamt of in the past, such as the ’War on Poverty’ and the ’War on Drugs’.

Both of these bogus wars did nothing but increase poverty and drug use, allowing the Federal Government to expand even further, costing us hundreds of billions if not trillions of dollars & the vast majority of this ’funding’ did not go the poor or the disenfranchised, but to big fat-cat corporations, multi-nationals that more often than not, financed the very people, our Congressional leaders, who proposed these bogus ’wars’ in the first place.

Any time any of our so-called ’leaders’ proposes any war based on an abstraction the wary citizen should immediately look at the money trail to see what special interest group, multi-national or fat-cat billion dollar contractor will ultimately benefit from such a ’cause’.

Only then will any citizen be able to see the situation with clarity.

  • "Divide and conquer", huh? Well, go ahead and partition Iraq into 3 semi-autonomous states, if you want. But...(drum roll)...IRAN WILL ABSORB ALL 3 "STATES"!!!!!

    BWAhahahahaha!

Can you say "Islamic Superstate"??? I knew you could!!!

Here’s the kicker, and this is the one that hurts: it will be that much CLOSER to Isra’Hell, and NUCLEAR ARMED. Nice.

    • Maybe, just maybe Iran will be able to absorb one of these hypothetical states, the Shiite State, and maybe, just maybe they will be able to absorb the Sunnis. But no way in hell will they be able to absorb the Kurds who are perhaps the most fiercely proud people on this planet.

Besides, why in hell would any struggling nation want to add so much more to a plate that is already overflowing?
Like absorbing bleeding refugee populations and their multitude of heartaches and problems?
Not every country on Earth has imperial ambitions, my friend, and for very good reasons, mainly ECONOMICS.

Iran is not the US, the Iranians aren’t interested in absorbing anybody. All they are interested is protecting their country and their sovereignty. We’re in the 21st Century and more countries throughout the world are seeing what a futile and costly effort it would be to build and maintain an Empire. Empires without strong, stable economies simply fall apart. You cannot call the US economy, an economy totally dependent on foreign oil, an economy totally dependent on foreign investments of over $2.1 trillion a year, an economy with no more than $60 billion in gold reserves, an economy whose national debt exceeds $8.6 trillion, stable or strong.

The US’ imperial ambitions are exactly what will bring us down, economically, politically and morally. The more intelligent leaders of the world’s developing countries see right through us and understand more than most American politicians how vulnerable these worthless dreams of empire have made our economy.
