Wars and conflicts International USA

"....I’m just trying to show you how little religion some people now have!"....Calvera, the bandit, from "The Magnificent Seven"

*********************************

So here we are. The entire planet is focused on this insane little war in Lebanon which shows promise to escalate into something unmanagable and much more frightening.

The amazing thing is that ALL the factions; Hezbollah, Israel and the U.S. claim innocence and the so-called "Moral Highground". The bottom line is religion. Not spirituality or noble behaviors, but just plain dogmatic, cardboard, neon flashing claims to the "true religion" and the "true God". At peaceful gatherings we all claim to have the same God and tolerate each other’s beliefs, but that’s rubbish! We don’t and They don’t.

Israel is represented by a wide spectrum of religios mainstreamers and zealots. Many believe in the Old Testament God who advises that you smite your enemy without mercy. Likewise, Hezbollah members are dead certain their concepts of right and wrong, of justice and revenge...are unmistakably correct. Add to this nutty mix the absolute whacko Right Wing USA Evangelical crazies with their longing for Armageddon, and it’s no problem coming to the conclusion that there is NO solution to this conflict.

These men who are fighting the war or pontificating from the sidelines on Sunday morning talk shows are not truly religious. They are as far away from a spiritual action as a child molester is from a priest (oh oh, bad comparison!)..as far away from noble and uplifting behavior as the president is from insanity (oops!..there I go again!), well,, you get the idea.

It’s about money, about land, about power and control, even about oil. But the old arguments about who’s God is going to prevail won’t wash anymore. All we have left now is small minds with unclear objectives and meaningless words.

And Condi Rice is right there on top of the list. What she’ll say at any summit, to the Arabs or the Israelis can be taken with a grain of her namesake.

  • Jimmy Carter is probably on the highest moral ground of all his political counterparts in the US right now. Ann Coulter is probably on the lowest.

Israel is using Revelation as a recipe book. The plan is to bring about catastrophe in the middle east so the religious idiots can all claim "ahhhhhh, see? The Bible predicted this" "You must all believe because the SECOND COMING IS AT HAND"......just like it was used in the fourth century.

What the religious idiots fail to understand is that Revelation is a spiritual initiation process undergone by it’s author - NOT a prophecy.

...and 2000 years later te world still hasn’t figured out that it’s been DUPED.

    • It’s a pretty narrow band between Jimmy Carter and Ann Coulter. Don’t forget Carter’s involvment in the little wars of Central America, his and his group’s "selective" election monitoring bringing about a number of pro-American despots in places from Central America to central Africa.

Putting up houses for the poor may placate his heart but it comes no where near balancing the ledger that we all face in our next life.

    • Typical western religious thinking dictates there is only one life - you do goody goody here or you burn forever after you die.

I perfer something far more intelligent. Reincarnation is the Law. I will return many lifetimes after this one to "balance my ledger". There is no heaven or hell and no sub-deities to intervene in my behalf. The balancing of my ledger is my own doing. Salvation is entirely my own doing.

There are leagues between J. Carter and A. Coulter. For example, one is intelligent, the other simply has a big mouth and craves attention. Coulter never served her country in any military capacity. Carter, on the other hand.....well his military record speaks for itself. And I doubt Coulter will ever so much as lift a finger to help the less fortunate. She’d rather point her scrawney finger and tell them all to get a job - the typical NeoCon stance. Carter is respectable, Coulter is despicable.
