Mr. Nader spotlighted corporate power and abuses in the U.S., and how AIG, the insurance titan, is the biggest recipient of “welfare—$182 Billion!” He showed how the workers in Western Europe have long had splendid social programs, like: “universal health insurance,” that are regularly denied (...)

A Mad Tea Party
20 April 2010 par (Open-Publishing)
There are good reasons why the tea partyers are mad; however, their solutions are equally mad.
The movement is being joined by independents, republicans, and democrats who have come to believe their government has failed them and that neither political party is doing anything to fix it. This is true; however, all of us are being manipulated by the big corporations and the wealthy elite, who use their corporate-owned, mainstream media to mislead the people into acting against their own (...) -

Eighteen Million, Out in the Road
30 March 2010 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentBy David Glenn Cox
How cold and callous can we become? When, as a society and as a nation, we can undergo a massive earthquake under our very feet and before our very eyes, how can we just ignore its victims?
RealtyTrac, the California-based authority on property trends and valuations, projects 4.5 million home foreclosures before the end of this year. That’s 4.5 million homes, and with four people to a household that is eighteen million people. Eighteen million men, women and children (...) -
The Alchemy of Antisemitism
25 March 2010 par (Open-Publishing)
5 commentsAlan Sabrosky’s recent and much-trumpeted statement that "Israel did 9/11" (e.g., here) is highly irrational and fuels, I suspect on purpose, the antisemitism that already plagues and undermines the "truth movement."
His "argument," such as it is, is easily debunked. It combines sense with nonsense, and it is very easy to distinguish the two, unless you are antisemitic, but that is precisely the problem.
Sensibly, Sabrovsky says:
"Several things are very clear to me from a (...)
