  • Forces trained in Britain’s dirty war in Northern Ireland involved in de Menezes killing

    The admission that army special forces were involved in the police execution of Brazilian Jean Charles de Menezes confirms that the techniques perfected in the dirty war conducted by British imperialism in Northern Ireland are now being employed on the streets of Britain.
    The Guardian reported August 4 that “a new army special forces regiment was involved in the operation” that resulted in de Menezes being killed with eight bullets, seven to the head, in a London subway (…)

    Tony Blair and George Bush have "far more blood on their hands" than the terrorists who carried out the London tube bombings, George Galloway said today.
    Mr Galloway, Respect MP for Bethnal Green, said that the attacks on the capital by Islamic extremists could not be separated from the invasion of Iraq and Britain’s treatment of the Muslim world.

    The death of Robin Cook not only deprives the Labour Party of one of its greatest figures, it will also diminish the House of Commons.
    The former foreign secretary was one of the very few MPs - on either the back or front benches - who demanded attention when he spoke in the chamber.

    Hate crimes in Britain have soared by 600 per cent causing the fear of a race divide in multicultural British society. Scotland Yard figures show there was 269 religious hate crimes, motivated by animosity towards Muslims since July 7 compared with 40 in the same period last year. A direct outcome of the two bomb attacks on London Transport system, such hate offences have jumped by nearly 600% in the capital.

    Five anti-war activists demonstrating against a ban on unauthorised protests near Parliament have been arrested.
    A ban on protests within half-a-mile of Westminster which have not been cleared by police came into force at midnight.
