Edito Governments USA

A cancer infects this country, spreading like wildfire, devouring the flesh of our society and threatening to turn what was once the greatest nation on Earth into a rotting corpse of political corruption, greed and abuse of power.

This cancer has a name: George W. Bush.

Yeah, yeah. Call me a Bush-basher if you want. I don’t give a damn. If you still support this madman check yourslef into the nearest psychiatric hospital for shock therapy. Somebody has to stand up against this American Hitler, this destroyer of freedom, this Devil with a drawl.

I’ve watched a lot of dangerous men pass through the portals of politics in my lifetime: Demagogues like Senator Joseph W. McCarthy, Racists like Alabama Governor (and Presidential candidate) George Wallace and Former Klu Klux Klan leader David Duke (another Presidential candidate) as well as tail-chasing, vendetta-driven despots like Bill Clinton.

But none, repeat none, compare to the fear mongering, hatred, homophobia and anti-American actions of Dubya and his klavern of fanatics who are hell-bent to destroy the Constitution, personal freedoms, civil liberties and just about anything else that provide the foundation of this place called America.

No President has done more to destroy freedom in America. His first Heinrich Himmler, the bible-thumping, tight-assed John Ashcroft, threw Americans in jail without cause and denied them due process while ignoring the Constitution with the rights-robbing USA Patriot Act. Bush’s new Himmler, new attorney general Albertto Gonzales, promises to take jack-booted thuggery to new highs, prosecuting citizens for watching dirty movies and pushing for more spying on American citizens while calling the Constitution an "outdated document."

Meanwhile, the brain-fried Republican lemmings who lick Dubya’s ass and boots and proclaim his mythical greatness apparently relish the destruction of America while wrapping themselves in faux-patriotism and claiming that anyone who doesn’t follow their madness in absolute lockstep is un-American and un-patriotic.

Horseshit. These people are the real traitors to America and should be treated as such. They have sold out their country in the name of political power and greed, willing to sacrifice what’s best for the nation in order to maintain control and push their narrow-minded, Puritanical agenda on a numb populace.

Bush and his fellow Republicans are also traitors to their party, one founded on the principle of less government, responsible spending and states’ rights. Together, the Bush White House and his Republican-controlled Congress have created the largest federal bureaucracy in history, pushed the deficit to all-time highs and forced an ever-increasing glut of federal regulations on state governments.

They’ve lied to the American people, cheated on the principles established by our forefathers and brought disgrace to this nation on the world stage. International respect for America is at all all-time low, thanks to an Iraq war based on lies and arrogance without limits.

Like Hitler, Bush may well go down in history as a mass-murderer. Nobody knows for sure how many innocent Iraqis have died at American hands because the Pentagon hides those figures but the number grows every day. Hell, an Italian hostage negotiator can’t even try to bring back someone from their country without getting gunned down by American troops in Iraq.

Thanks to George W. Bush and those who follow him, America is no longer the home of the brave or the land of the free. That America is gone. Maybe, must maybe, it can be reclaimed when the goons, crooks, thieves and traitors who control our country are driven from office.

Or maybe it’s too late. Maybe we’ve sat on our collective asses too long while traitors took over our country. Maybe we’ve been silent too long while American citizens with Arabic last names are rounded up like cattle and sent to concentration camps at Guantanimo Bay.

Maybe we should remember these words:

First they came for the Communists,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Communist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Jew.

Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I was a Protestant.

Then they came for me,
and by that time there was no one
left to speak up for me.

The Rev. Martin Niemoller wrote those words in Germany in 1945. An early supporter of Adolph Hitler, he realized, too late, his terrible error.

comment: the version above is at the holocaust museum in Boston, Ma. The original translation:

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I did not speak out
because I was not a communist.

When they came for the social democrats,
I did not speak out
because I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists
I did not speak out
because I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews
I did not speak out
because I was not a Jew;

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

german:

Als die Nazis die Kommunisten holten,
habe ich geschwiegen;
ich war ja kein Kommunist.

Als sie die Sozialdemokraten einsperrten,
habe ich geschwiegen;
ich war ja kein Sozialdemokrat.

Als sie die Gewerkschafter holten,
habe ich nicht protestiert;
ich war ja kein Gewerkschafter.

Als sie die Juden holten,
habe ich nicht protestiert;
ich war ja kein Jude.

Als sie mich holten,
gab es keinen mehr, der protestierte.

  • I am a fundamentalist, (right wing). I do not support this president’s actions. The similarities between him and Hitler are too many to ignore. Our civil liberties and constitutional rights are all but a memory.
The course of our country has not changed for many years. The Federal Reserve, a private corporation, has controlled the money since 1933. President Kennedy was assanated in 64?, because a few months earlier he had passed a law for congress to print it’s own money, and in doing so would be taking the country away from the power of the fed. reserve. Unless the fed. reserve is abolished, congress and senate held accountable for treason, and the country acknowledges God’s laws, you can kiss your freedom, and ass, goodbye- unless you want to be a part of this new America.

    • P.S.
Even if Bush is impeached, the laws passed- Patriot acts 1 and 2, and soon to be national id, have stripped away American citizens’ freedoms. These laws are unconstitutional. They were sold to a congress and senate who did not read them before a vote, due to the aftermath of 9/ll.
The terrorists, in truth, are amoung us and not outside. Examing history, shows that our corporate oil conglomerates backed Hitler because of oil for war sales. Afterwards, many of these nazis were imported here to share knowledge in our secret services, war crimes outstanding. The conglomerate companies have shares of ownership by the "secret" board members of the federal reserve, Rockefellers, Chase banks, and about 8 others. These federal reserve board members make billions a year loaning our US money to our own govt. and it’s people. Why do we tolerate having to take a loan for our own money? The board only pays printing cost on this money. The federal reserve board members and their numerous companies own our media, and most of America. These members home bases are the US, but mainly, Germany, and England. What is owned by the US has primary share interests going back to over seas. They are not for America as we know it. They are the same beuracracy that our founders fled Britain and established independence, to get away from. Many of our politicians, from both parties, have sold us out for years. It is not the party, it is the few causing division amoung the many. Party division is a diversionary tactic to keep the people divided, so they won’t focus on the true problem.

I will never vote for homosexual marriage rights, but if we were fighting together and you were injured, I’d clamp your artery, pray, and love you, as a brother. Who would you rather side with?

I think bush should read our laws better. Oh, I forgot, he no longer follows our laws.

  • I greatly admire your bravery and courage in telling the truth about (what has become) life in Amerika. It is no longer a free country, it’s fascist. It is no longer a Christian nation, it’s evil, brutal and cruel. People have no representation, only repression by a government run by unelected criminals. The war lords are not supported by the people, but protests are allowed only in the confines of a holding pen (convenient). The way this has happened is almost the exact blueprint of what Hilter did in Germany; the media blackout, the pre-emptive war, the propaganda, the secret society, the skull and bones. It is no longer the USA, it’ the U-SS, This is the truth.

  • It’s not too late. They hope you will be complacent. They hope you won’t get so loud that other people get loud. To keep the lie, they will take one down of their own. Wake up more people, don’t just lay down. If your going to die anyway, stand up. The sooner the better, say no to fascism, escape the chains that exist only in your mind. Speak while you still can.

  • There is a Ghost roaming in America, the Ghost is namend Fascism:

Dear American citizens you must get rid of it!

Critizcism is not hate! In order to make permanent changes the awareness of this problem your
nation faces should be planted in the heads. To answer fascism with terrorism or assassination
is out of scope, because it doesn’t change anything.

Unfortunately the Europeans or other helper nations are to weak.

    • The old films of Hitler in Germany being cheered by thousnads and thousands of Germans everywhere he went are very interesting...Bush has much smaller audiences here in the US but they all cheer for him like those people did for Hitler. Today and everyday in Germany people are still trying to explain to themselves, their children and grand children and great grandchildren how the nation supported the evil leader who caused so much misery and destruction, tomorrow and for decades to come Americans will try to explain how we allowed Bush to cause so much misery and destruction. The very people who are cheering for Bush and his crimes against humanity today will have a hard time explaining to future generations how they allowed Bush to do his evil deeds and encouraged him to do them. This will happen.

    • Its a shame the American people do not see bush as a hitler, you are right we have to rid this monster that is only creating distrust among the world leaders and among the American people.

American people along with those in the congress and senate must call for the Impeachment of Bush today.

Tried for war crimes against the Iraq people and other nations that have been pulled into this lie.

He is destroying the will of American people with his lies and cover ups.

What is the difference between Saddam and Bush, well bush is still running loose. What hole will he be found in for judgement day.

Impeach Bush all his cabinet people who are yes people to his lies .

Stop the insane march into invasions of countries , Bring our troops home your lies are not working.

    • I definitely agree that we need to get rid of Bush and his whole administration. I believed he should be impeached and then put on trial for war crimes. The problem is where do we start?
I have written to my senators, congressmen, signed every petitiion I can think of to stop him and
his policies. I am 61 yrs. old and I have never in my life time seen a president that has taken over this country and ran it so badly. America is suppose to be the richest country in the world, yet
so many have no health ins., no job, can’t afford to feed their families, buy fuel, the elderlly are
getting a shaft by Bush and the war is beyond hope. What do we do? There have been so many
protest marches. The only thing that comes to my mind is how back in the 60’s when the black
Americans all stood together and marched on Washington and they got results. I am willing to
stand together with any group that can get this so called man brought to justice. Our kids are dyiing daily, for something that was Bush’s own personal war. Bush is nothing short of a murdererThousands of inniocent Iraqi people have died including children, women, and working men. This was was so NOT necessary ant it is now becoming a Civil War amonst all the Iraqi people themselves. They were better off with Suddam in power. Yes he was an evil man, but it sure wasn’t up to the U.S. to invade a soverign nation and order our kids to start killing everyone in sight or be killed. He couldn’t even pull guard duty stateside, but he has the audacity to send
our kids into a war of hell. We have to get him out. America is becoming more like a dictorship day by day with that arrogant, fool in office. My son served i4 yrs. honorably in the U.S. Army and
was over in Iraq and upon his discharge they put a stoploss on him (can’t get out of service) and I went crazy. I called and wrote to everyone that I thought could help me. See we are not your typical young parents (I am 61 his dad 64 and he is our only child and needed at home). With the help of my senators we were able to get him out, but not without a price to pay. He was threateneed to either join the national gurads, reservisits, or re-enlist in the Army or he would be
sent back to Iraq on a 1 yr. extended tour of duty. This is right? This is Fair? This is American? So
needless to say, he was enrolled in a local national guard unit before he could even leave base.
So, will he go back anyway?? Probably, because we are already falling short of the quotas for the
U.S. Army and the Marines. Buhs is Sin and a Disgrace to America and its people.

    • I can sympathize with your position. Whether or not Bush rises to the level of Hitler, he is not directing the country well. For example, we have problems with medical care, so the administration is focusing on bankruptcy reform. However, many, if not most, personal bankruptcies are due to high medical bills. As we used to say, they are looking at the wrong end of the stick.

Impeachment is not the answer. The Republican majority will not go for it and, even if they do and are successful, Cheney will be president. Not much profit in that. The best hope is to look carefully at what your Congressman or woman is doing. Write to them and express your concerns, but don’t be bashful about replacing them in 2006 if they don’t seem to be doing a good job. Also, one-third of the Senate will be up for election in 06. These are the people in DC that are potentially most responsive to your thoughts and the ones with most to lose for ignoring them. While the President is powerful, he cannot do a lot of things directly and must rely on Congress. While he is a lame duck, many Congressmen and Senators do want to be re-elected. He is not listening, but maybe some of them are.

      John Mullen

    • The American people DO see W. this way only the corrupt media doesn’t show the world this. We are outraged and embarrased and scared to death of his actions.
Remember, both his elections were rigged and the majority of Americans did not vote for W. and we do not want him!

  • Hermann Goering = Karl Rove

(Hitler’s most loyal supporter and one of the primary architects of the Nazi police state in Germany and the Holocaust. It was Göring who led the economic despoliation of the Jews in Germany and in the various territories that fell under Hitler’s power.)

"Naturally the common people don’t want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."

    Hitler = Bush

Excerpt from Chapter Ten of Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler

"All this was inspired by the principle - which is quite true in itself - that in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying. These people know only too well how to use falsehood for the basest purposes."

History repeats itself because nobody listens!

    • so true- just to emphasize your point, ie what is really going on

[The little people] "would never credit others with the possibility of such great impudence as the complete reversal of facts."
       Adolph Hitler, Mein Kampf

  • agreed.bush is hitler.sooner or later he must go.

  • I totally agree with you and your statements. This country is gone...what it will take to regain it again is unknown..there is only one hope; nothing last forever...so this unfortunate times will pass the question is how many innocent lives will be destroyed until this drama is over?

  • Otto von Bismark - ultra conservative, reactionary, nationalist. That’s who I think of when I think of Bush. And, of course, Louis XIV and lastly, Hitler. All wrapped into one. Argh! I do hope it’s not too late, but my rational mind tells me otherwise - Americans do not have the guts to stand up and protests for change and have shown the world how easily led they can be. Baaaaa, baaaaa.

  • Well said Doug. Every word is true.

    • Hitler was Intelligent and Bush a moron with a wire on his back that feeds him his words and he still screws them up!

    • To all the people who can’t stand the comparison of Dubya to Hitler, just remember that his Granddaddy would be proud. Old Prescott Bush helped direct the Union Banking Corporation which had it’s assets seized in 1942 under the TRADING WITH THE ENEMY ACT for helping finance the Nazi war machine up to that point. It wasn’t incidental involvement, he was up to his elbows in loaning cash to Adolf & Co. Now what’s that old expression about the acorn not falling too far from the tree?

  • Let’s just make sure we drive the message home:

During the 1930s, the famous writer H.G. Wells was rebuked by the conservatives of his day for comparing Hitler to Caesar and suggesting that Hitler was a "certifiable lunatic." Wells turned out to be right on the money. Those of us who see a creeping fascism with Bush and his cronies will, one day, be vindicated by the muses of history.

"My father was a Nazi soldier and he realized during the war what he and most of his generation was led into. I have learned from him that a nation can be guilty and that we must stop the arrogance of the powers at the very beginning. To me, America is becoming truly scary and the parallels to the development in Germany of the thirties (although the reason behind it are totally different) are sickening. "Thank you for writing about this development. The world is waiting for signs of opposition in the Unilateral States of America!"

Herr Moellers’ e-mail is typical of a half dozen or so I’ve received over the past year from people with intimate knowledge of Nazi Germany. I respect experience, so I’m inclined to believe what these people are telling me.

For the purpose of this perspective, I will consider the following regimes: Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, Franco?s Spain, Salazar?s Portugal, Papadopoulos?s Greece, Pinochet?s Chile, and Suharto?s Indonesia. To be sure, they constitute a mixed bag of national identities, cultures, developmental levels, and history. But they all followed the fascist or protofascist model in obtaining, expanding, and maintaining power. Further, all these regimes have been overthrown, so a more or less complete picture of their basic characteristics and abuses is possible.

Analysis of these seven regimes reveals fourteen common threads that link them in recognizable patterns of national behavior and abuse of power. These basic characteristics are more prevalent and intense in some regimes than in others, but they all share at least some level of similarity.

14 points of fascism w/ examples in print:

It’s becoming clearer and clearer. Some like to say that you could find these 14 points with any administration. The truth is, no you can’t. not to this extent and never so blatantly.

Wake up and smell the fascism:
    http://oldamericancentury.org/14pts.htm

Flash presentation for the visually inclined:
    http://www.bushflash.com/14.html

Once you "wake up", you will see it everywhere. From the Army recruiters teaming up with the corporations to soft sell you at the video store, to the constant barage of tv shows and movies(propaganda) that scare you with the "boogeyman" and pump you with *drum roll*...."the war on ERRORS".

Impeach Bush before he kills again and before he takes this country down. He doesn’t care about anyone but himself and the top 1%. Don’t be afraid to speak up, it’s not too late to stop another world war.

    • "I AM OZ!!!!!!!"
"Ignore the man behind the curtain!"
Hitler doesn’t do it anymore kids.
We’ve seen the men behind the curtain.
Mao [65,000,000 dead], Stalin [25-45,000,000 dead], Ho Chi Minh [1,000,000 dead], Kim Jong Il and his father [2,000,000 dead to date], Pol Pot [2,000,000 dead], Enver Hoxha, Nicolae Ceaucescu, Josip Broz Tito et al [1-2,000,000 dead], miscellanrous leftist regimes in sub Saharan Africa [1.5-2,000,000 dead]
These are the DEAD, not the crippled, the enslaved, the raped, the ruined, those driven mad by the horror.
Mao, Stalin, Ho, Kim, Pol Pot, Hoxha, Ceaucescu, Tito, good leftists, good orthodox Marxists every one.
The total number of victims of leftist carnage and blood lust is well over 110,000,000 in 85 years.
And still you whine about "Hitler".
If it were not for the threat Stalin presented to the German nation, Hitler never would have been elected chancellor.
How conveniently you forget the 110,000,000 million while weeping crocodile tears for the 6,000,000.
      You are without excuse.
You have consciously and willingly aligned yourselves with the most prolific, demented, religiously fanatic butchers in the history of the planet, all the while playing the victim as a passive-aggressive ploy.
      " I AM OZ!!!!!!!"

The curtain is torn, we can see the men and women behind it, you are standing shamelessly among them, your hands and your soul is stained with the blood of innocents.
