Cooperative Research .org has compiled a most extraordinary summary of post 9/11 White House Spin. One article they dug up from the "liberal" Washington Times 10/7/2 includes the following ditty : " Bush claims Andy Card told him the following : " Here’s what you are going to to be doing , you’re going to meet so and so. BY THE WAY AN AIRCRAFT FLEW INTO THE WORLD TRADE CENTRE. " (end quote) Isn’t that the equivalent of asking Mrs. Lincoln , bye the way ,how was the play?

There are nine differing versions on how President Bush received the news that Flight 11 had smashed into the World Trade Centre , the first of three fatal attacks taking place on 9/11.

1) Mr. Bush was notified while he was en route to Booker Elementary.

2) Navy Captain Deborah Lower notified him as he arrived at the school

3) The aforementioned "by the way" remark allegedly made by Andy Card.

4) Mr. Card tells the President upon arrival at Booker that it is urgent for him to speak to NSC advisor Condi Rice immediately. 5 ) Bush personal aide Blake Gottesman tells Bush " By the way Andy Card says an aircraft flew into the the World Trade Centre. "

6 ) Karl Rove greets Mr. Bush as he disembarks from his motorcade , leads him to a room in the school , tells him the horrible news wherby the President responds "What a terrible accident." !

7) Mr. Bush claims he saw the first plane hit the Tower (an impossibilty) from a TV set at Booker Elementary and said "That’s one terrible pilot." 8) Realising that he has strayed from the party line , he immediately corrects himself by stating " I said it must have been a horrible accident. Reporting John Cochran : " Peter as you know the President is down in Florida talking about education. He got out of his hotel suite this morning ,was about to leave, reporters saw the White House Chief of Staff Andy Card whisper into his ear .The reporter said to the President "Do you know what’s going on in New York ? He said he did and he said he will have something about it later. His first event is about an half hour at elementary school in Sarasota ,Florida. "

Mr. Bush departed from the Colony Resort he was staying between 8 : 30 and 8: 39 am. The first fatal crash takes place at 8: 46 am.

Was he notified that a hijacking was in progress and confirmed this to reporters who saw Card whispering into his ear as he prepared to leave his hotel suite ?

The first suspected hijacking was noticed by air traffic controllers at 8:13 am.

They have to immediately notify the FAA. As noted by Vice President Cheney on "Meet the Press , the FAA has an arrangement with the Secret Service to open up a communications line in case of such an emergency.

The channel was open to Cheney on 9/11 . Certainly the President was notified as quickly as possible .

The cover story that the FAA did not notify NORAD of the first hijacking for a full 27 minutes , 8: 40 am, is risible.
